Convenient location, nice and helpful staff”
Convenient location in a quiet hutong near Nanluoguxiang subway station. The staff were nice and very helpful. A good option for budget travelers.

Nice stay in good location ”
The room was great for the price, a cozy stay in Beijing. We were close to restaurants, shops and the metro. The room was pretty good, wifi was ok. Shower floods whole bathroom, but that's typical for China. Staff were super friendly and were great at working through language barriers with us! Only thing we wish it had was laundry facilities, because self-service laundry is impossible to find in Beijing!

Leafy over-street room”
This is a simple room in a basically convenient location (depending on what exactly you want to do). It is easy to walk through the hutongs and other interesting sections of the city in order to reach the Forbidden Palace zone, the very popular S. Luong alleyway as well as several other up-and-coming alleys nearby, and surrounding everyday neighborhoods. Lots of normal restaurants and shops. The hotel is basic, and basically comfortable, with no special qualities except for nice sunlight in the rooms with windows. The people at the front desk are friendly as helpful as they can be, though it's not really a foreigner's spot. For me, it was suitable, though I saw many other places that may have been a bit nicer (courtyards), though perhaps at slightly higher cost.

Great location with lots going on around it”
Location, soft bed, heating
Contrary to what is advertised, there is no 24 hour front desk/check-in, which caused major problems for us at 1am. Luckily, a nearby hotel helped us out by calling the guesthouse for us. The guesthouse is under renovation, so the foyer was very dusty/dirty with random tiles, bricks, etc all around the place. The bed was very soft with good amount of pillows, ample hot water and heating, and room was clean. Excellent location and good value for money, friendly staff.

Pleasant but not spectacular”
Comfortable Bed, TV/Kettle/Hairdryer In-Room, Good Wifi
Put simply, this place is not awful but it's not great either. To begin with, it's quite hard to find, even with quite a bit of planning on Google Maps we still took about two hours to do so - this is partly down to it's hidden away Hutong location but the owners could put up at least one sign next to the nearest subway station given it's far from obvious setting. Once you have found the place, you need to get the wifi code from reception straight away or wifi connection can be a hassle. The rooms are small and have a slightly off (mildly seafood-ey) smell due to whatever cleaning product is used - although this smell fades over the course of the day following the morning clean - you may be better off therefore hanging the 'do not disturb' sign on the door if going out for the day! Also, the sink in the bathroom (which is in the one bedroom-cum-wetroom behind a kind of big sliding door shower cubicle front) was leaking heavily and thus any time you stepped in to get something or use the toilet you would leave with wet feet (not super important, but one of those little annoyances). The walls and windows are pretty thin too and thus, when sharing the hotel with Chinese guests who were less than courteous when it came to noise levels, falling asleep was occasionally a challenge. That being said the bed, pillows and linen were all very soft and comfortable. Also, the breakfast supposedly served from 8-9am didn't seem to exist. The one morning we looked for it at 8.30am there was a woman in the kitchen but no cooking smell, utensils or food/drink storage vessels - I suspect breakfast availability is based on occupancy numbers. In conclusion, if you plan to spend very little time in your room in Beijing (as you really should) this place provides a reasonable base so long as you are not an extremely light sleeper. If, however, you are looking for something a little more luxurious, pay more and get more!

Comfortable nights”
Staffs are unbelievably friendly and helpful. They treat every guest as friend. On my first night of staying, they invited me to have watermelons with them. Room was small but very comfortable.
Very good. I would recommend this hostel to my friends.

Great hotel and fantastic location”
New and clean rooms, charming neighborhood and super friendly staff
i spent a week there and loved it! my room had a beautiful view, it was quiet and charming, and the neighborhood is fantastic: central and yet mixed and with plenty of character. the staff at the hotel speaks no english, but they are super friendly and willing and able to communicate. they provided me with a bike and helped me find my way around. i hope to go back soon.
