Great hotel right in the heart of the action”
our experience of hoi an was fantastic thanks to huy hoang river hotel. the location was perfect - right on the riverfront and next to the market and the start of the old town. this meant that we really got to experience the full magic of hoi an without having to go much further than our doorstep. the staff were friendly and helpful, booking flights and taxis for us. when we arrived, we were told that only rooms with twin beds were available for the first night (we booked a deluxe double) but we insisted on a double and were upgraded to an enormous riverside room which had a balcony overlooking the river. for the second and third nights we had a deluxe double room which had a balcony overlooking the street. this was a smaller, but, personally, felt to be a better size and had a nicer bathroom. the only negative thing we could note would be that the rooms can be quite noisey (either from activity on the street or the river), but we didn't find this to be a problem because it was quiet at night and we didn't want to sleep in. if you do, consider bringing earplugs. breakfast is average, but there are plenty of cheap eateries nearby if you want something a bit tastier. we would definately stay here again if we were back in hoi an.

Great Location and Service”
this is the nicest hotel room my friend and i stayed in throughout our trip in vietnam. we got the side room so there was not much of a view. nevertheless, we weren't too fussy about that as we were hardly in the room. our air-condition was leaking also one night, the staff merely put a towel underneath it to soak up the water. we were fine with that anyway, as long as it does not flood up our whole room. staff tend to queries promptly - plus point! the hotel is strategically located on the riverside, and a stone's throw away from the central market, cobblers, tailors, food stalls, and not forgetting, hoi an's famous banh mi stall! did not try the hotel food although breakfast was included. we preferred satisfying our tastebuds at the street stalls. upon exiting the hotel you'll spot plenty. the hotel also offers bicycle rental for $1/day. that was the crème de la crème of my trip - cycling across the bridge to the villages/houses nearby and also taking an early morning ride to cua dai beach (20 minutes away from the hotel, we took longer as we stopped a few times for photographs), will definitely stay with huy hoang river hotel when i visit hoi an again.

Great choice. Very satisfied.”
This is my first trip to Hoi An and I have no experience with other hotels there. It's located just a stone's throw from the market and shopping/dining area so it's close enough to the hustle and bustle without being too affected by the noise and traffic. There is a bridge to cross the river just round the corner. Huy Hoang is a small hotel, the type which I prefer for their cosiness. The decor of my room was very tastefully done in traditional style but the bathroom was very modern. Two bottles of free water was provided. There was an electric kettle, teapot, teacups and a small container of tealeaves. For breakfast which came with the room I was given to chose two food items and a drink from the restaurant menu. I chose an omelette and a sandwich plus a fruit juice - the bill would normally come close to 100k dong. Between 11.30 and noon the restaurant area was fully occupied by the hotel staff and their children having their midday meal. Danang was my next destination. There are a number companies offering a shuttle service from Hoi An to the railway station in Danang. The hotel which I booked in Danang was some distance from the railway station. The receptionist at Hoi An booked the shuttle bus for me and later told the bus driver to drop me off not far from my intended hotel - saved me one extra trip. I would certainly stay here if I should come to Hoi An again.

Great Location, Clean, Great Staff, but Noisy”
the huy hoang river hotel was a great value for the price. the hotel staff was professional and friendly, the rooms clean and well equipped (hair dryer, tea kettle, and great towels), and breakfast was included in the cost of the room. the breakfast included a choice of 3 items of the menu, which i thought was a good deal. the hotel is located right by old town and the market. you can walk everywhere in the old town from the hotel. 5 minute walk to cargo coffee, and about 7 minutes to the japanese bridge. only major complaint was that you could hear all hall activity in the rooms, which wasn't nice at 7:00 a.m. so i would recommend getting a room on the second floor, to minimize noise coming from the staff and diners on the first floor.

A great place to stay”
We greatly enjoyed our 4 nights at this well-presented hotel. Li and her staff were delightful and extremely helpful. The Huy Hoang is situated on the river right next to the market area so the local daily activities take place at its doorstep. Our room was right on the river so we woke each morning to the sounds of women negotiating the price of the daily catch. At breakfast in the front room, we watched people collecting water from the town well opposite. The market began just a few paces away from the front door. The noises of river and market activities, including fishing boats chugging and motorbikes beeping, began very early but if you are looking to be at the centre of daily Hoi An life then we old not speak more highly of this hotel.

great hotel and really friendly and helpful staff”
I really enjoyed my stay at Huy Hoang River Hotel; staff was amazingly helpful and the hotel was perfectly situated on a corner that is walking distance to everything in the old city. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when I visit Hoi An :)

clean rooms, good staff, great location and BF!”
I have just spent two days in Ho Ian, so I was looking a well-located hotel with good rooms. Huy Hoang River provides full equiped rooms, friendly staff, bikes for one dollar/day, breakfast and few blocks from main spots and restaurants in the old city. It also has a beautiful terrace with chairs and tables looking at the river to chill-out after long day... I would definitely come back!

Great room and efficient and friendly staff”
We stayed for three nights and had requested a river view and balcony with our booking. This was well worth it as being able to sit out there watching all the activity on the river and to have our excellent breakfasts served there really made our stay. The interior rooms are nice but do not have views. The room was very well appointed and the bathroom stylish. The tour we booked to My Son was excellent and we were picked up at and returned to our hotel door. We also hired bicycles from the hotel for a dollar each and enjoyed exploring the countryside. We rode to the beach at Cua Dai but did not stop there as you are not allowed to take bikes onto the beach. We went a bit further along the coast and took a little side road down to a deserted stretch of beach with just fishing boats pulled up on the sand. We loved Hoi An with its ancient houses and fascinating market and the quieter atmosphere after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi!

Friendly staff and great location”
This hotel was very welcoming and in a great central location. Shortly after check in, the receptionist informed us of a couple of vendors nearby the hotel to avoid as they were involved in trying to scam tourists an had been aggressive to another guest. It was comforting to have the staff looking out for you and giving helpful advice right from the start. She and the other staff were also helpful in recommending restaurants and a great tailor to visit whilst in Hoi An. The room was spacious, clean as was the ensuite. There was a balcony also at the end of the corridor with river views. We were in need of washing on arrival in Hoi An which the hotel provided, with rapid turn around and at a competitive rate. All together a great place to base your Hoi An adventure.

Ten days in a friendly hotel”
This is the second time that we have stayed at the Huy Hoang. Staff are very friendly and breakfast acceptable. The location is about as central as you can get: it's adjacent to the market area and a short walk to the main river front with the restaurants and bars. The rooms upstairs are much better than those downstairs so pay the extra. Also, some of the rooms are more spacious, so ask. You will find better hotels, but not at the price and location.

Clean comfortable hotel in a great location ”
The Huy Hoang River Hotel is a great value for the money. Clean comfy rooms, good free breakfast, and a very nice, helpful, honest staff. It's located near everything you want to see and do in Hoi An. The only bad thing is that it is not quiet due to lots of traffic and a morning market nearby. If you are a light sleeper I do not recommend this place. Loud even with ear plugs. Other than that, it's great.

Overall good”
We initially booked this hotel one night and ended up staying the four nights we were in Hoi An. The hotel is located right on the river and across the street from the central market, so everything is in close walking distance. The hotel provides a good breakfast menu to order from and has bikes that can be rented for cheap. The room was ok. One night it was loud (baby crying) but it was hard to tell if the noise was coming from inside the hotel or from the homes right outside the window. Other times, could hear people talking and TV's but quiet at night. Rooms are not cleaned unless you hang up the sign to clean. Light in bathroom was burned out and never changed. For the price, it was great.

Great location and good price”
the location of this hotel was perfect, right next to the market and on the river. aside from the usual conveniences of being close to town, in hoi an it is nice to be close to your tailor if you are getting clothes made as you will need to go there and back several times. there is also the famous phuong banh mi bakery very close by where you can get delicious $1 vietnamese sandwiches. the included breakfast was wonderful. you could choose any three items on the menu which included different styles of eggs, pancakes, fruit, traditional vietnamese dishes, juices, smoothies, coffee, etc. the rooms were nice but some rooms have no window so be aware of that. the rooms that look out onto the river would be great to stay in if you have the budget. the only downside is there is no pool but the location makes up for that and you can easily ride to the beach for a day in the sun.

great location with great staff”
Had a great stay. Love Hoi An and will be back next year. The breakfast does not have a huge selection but it is all really nicely presented and is perfectly adequate. Rooms are not huge but again, adequate. We had a street side room which was a bit noisy first thing in the morning about 5.30am because it is right next to the food and produce market, but I personally found it really interesting getting up and watching the locals going to and fro with their produce. Very close to some very good restaurants along the river front. Hotel was clean, staff was great and all in all a very enjoyable stay. We were there for 8 nights and loved every minute of Hoi An.

awesome locaiton with clean rooms”
The hotel is located just outside the old town making it the perfect for visitors to Hoi An. The staff are exceptionally friendly and speak great English. The hotels are also always cleaned with great wifi access. The prices they offer tours at are also among the cheapest from shopping all over town. I actually got ripped off booking a motorcycle tour from Hoi An to Hue from a tour operator directly across the road on the corner of the street. The hotel would have been able to book it for half the price which shows their honesty. The hotel also recommends a tailor in old town called "An Cloth Shop" which have friendly tailors who offer multiple fittings. Only complaint is after my last fitting as I was leaving early next morning, they made an error in one of the sleeves of the suit by not stitching up the adjustments. They offered to get it fixed and delivered to the hotel that night. The sleeve was not stitched up properly at all and was such a dodgy job! Sorta ruined the suit! I would make sure you have time and make sure they tailor everything properly if you choose these tailors!!!

Lovely Hotel with great location”
We came back to the hotel for the second time, still liked it very much. Other reviews are soso, we don't really think they where reasonable. Spacious very comfortable rooms (especially the one in the front and back). We had a little balcony in the front (accessible from the doorway) and the staff was kind enough that we could have breakfast there overlooking the old town of Hoi An. The only bad point: its rather badly soundproofed, but we weren't really bothered and all the good points made up for it: amazing location just near the local market and the boardwalk at the river, everything in walking distance, good breakfast, suitable local design - all in all: very good value for the price.

Great, friendly hotel, good location, noisy though”
This hotel is in a great location in Hoi An, not far from all the main attractions. The staff is very nice and very honest (that's a big deal here in Vietnam!). The rooms are very clean, made up every day if want them to. Good western style shower with hot water and good pressure, no door on it though so the bathroom floor will get wet, but that's standard for here as well. Reasonable prices for the room and a delicious free breakfast with lots of choices-eggs any way you want or pancakes etc. My only complaint of this hotel is that it's quite noisy, and it was hard to sleep past about 6am even with earplugs because the morning market gets going and doesn't quit -lots of talking and honking horns. Otherwise, great spot!

Great location”
we stayed for 2 nights in huy hoang river hotel. we arrived late at the hotel and left after 2 nights very early - 4am to airport. we were welcomed very kindly and staff arranged airport transfer which was cheaper than in other hotels. it was not nice that the room did not have windows, breakfast was below average. but all in all great value for money, and we enjoyed our stay there due to its superb location.

Brilliant, i want to go back!!”
This hotel is right next to the local market which leads to the old quarter and the riverside, where all the shops and bars are. It is a 10 minute bike ride to the brilliant Cua Dai beach where there are loads of cheap water sports on offer and all the facilities for a day at the beach with the family. In the evening Hoi An is romantic and there is a special buzz during Tet. The hotel serves a delicious breakfast included in the very reasonable price, the room was comfortable with a good shower and was cleaned every day. The laundry was efficient and the staff were a bit rude and inattentive but they were working during the holidays so i can't blame them for being in a bit of a mood!! Definitely recommend this place and if you're not sure about going to Hoi An, go, it's worth it!!
