Value for Money”

Read a few reviews that the rooms are dated, but i would say well maintained. The full glass windows overlooking HuangPu river is unbeatable. One lowlight is that the breakfast area is crowded and less variety. They have people to attend to you for every dishes you want instead of you picking it up yourself, so it will be a long queue for popular dishes.

When I first arrived and checked in, The hotel staff gave me a key card which couldn’t use with the elevator, it was just an electric power key card. We had to wait to change the key card for so long, and they didn’t even care us like it was nth wrong. I requested a pearl tower side view, but a staff said they don’t have one. The hotel itself is good but very poor service.

is it really a 5 star hotel at the center of Shanghai?”

I really didn't expect this kind of quality for this level of hotel. 1st room I got, moldy smell 2nd room, moldy smell again... I had to put the mask on the face to sleep! the view is fantastic, but only on one window. the other one gives distorted view as if it is a picture of impressionism. Pool... wow... I never saw this kind of opaque water. you cannot see the swimmer at 2 meter away from you. good breakfast. good staff. but I will not come back, for sure.

C/In & Out process took too long, avg. 15mins per guest The request of our room allotment was not fulfilled/prepared prior to arrival where staff took again to review and arranged but our time of C/I was already 6 pm and we did our booking a day before our arrival. Room service was fantastic **in-room Bkf that we enjoyed** The room carpet has dirt and hair in the bathroom The In-room TV was OOO and the Engineering staff took around 20mins to re-connect the wires where we felt so uncomfortable during around 9 pm, however, the technician has a good attitude and was polite during the job order.

Great stay at Hyatt on the Bund”

Nice room set up, stunning view, glorious facility
Need to have more front desk staff, waited for a while when checking in and out.

Probably one of the best hotel I stayed in Shanghai the most hip and happening among all three Hyatt in the city. Spent my new year eve count down at the Vue bar, very memorable and unforgettable experience, it offer stunning view of Shanghai both Pu dong and Pu xi view, thought the location of the hotel is at Pu xi side. I would recommend all guest to have a drink at the Vue bar to chill out. Being situated at Pu xi, Huang Pu Road the hotel is minutes walk from the Bund and nan jing road where most of the great, shopping, restaurant and bar located at. Very convenient location. As for the facility, Hyatt on the Bund provide better facility than other 5 star hotel in city. warm pool and great gym. I stayed at the club room on the east tower at 27 floor that offer magnificent view, the room is spacious and amenity is nice. I truly enjoy my stay at Hyatt on Bund and will stay here again come May Shanghai Expo.

Great place to stay in Shanghai”

Very modern, great view and comfortable hotel
hanging closet space too small, should have iron and ironing board in the room. Club lounge's menu should change everyday instead of serving the same item everyday.

Among all three Hyatt in Shanghai, I find that Hyatt on the Bund have the best location. Although it is situated on Pu Xi side, it location along Huang pu road, if you stay at the east tower high floor club room, you can have both the Bund and Pu dong spectacular view. The mattress and the pillow is very comfortable among most of the hotel I have stay in Shanghai and the the bath room is very nice. It could be better if the hanging closet are bigger cos the one in the club room I find it too small especially if you going to stay longer in Shanghai. The pool and gym are well equip, had very good swim over here. The Vue bar on the west tower have very beautiful night view of Shanghai and would recommend all guest to have a drink there to enjoy the scenery of Shanghai especially at the outdoor balcony area.

Highly recommended.”

The food in the hotel restaurants was some of the best we have ever eaten. The buffet was incredible with 100+ choices.
Having to pay for the internet.

The Hyatt on The Bund is well located for most of Shanghai’s attractions. The staff tried very hard during our stay to help us, most of them speak good English and made us very welcome. Our room had a view of the Pudong River and at night it was a wonderful sight to see the pleasure boats cruising up and down with all their lights on. The Hyatt is a busy hotel with many business conventions going on but at no time did we feel as independent travelers that we were forgotten. Room service was always prompt and any request for assistance was met with a smile and good service. The rooftop bar called The Vue is a great place for an early or late evening drink and check out the view across Shanghai. We intend to return to Shanghai in the future and will without doubt stay at The Hyatt on The Bund again.

A fantastically relaxing experience”

Welcoming staff, large comfy bed, scenic river views, great facilities

i was a bit apprehensive at first about the price tag of a night's stay at the hyatt on the bund, but as soon as i stepped into the lobby, i knew that it would be worth the splurge. the staff who greet you upon arrival are welcoming and helpful, then direct you to your room. mine had a king bed (comfier than most hotels in china) and a large bathroom, as well as views of the bund and huangpu river. i was a little disappointed that i could not see much of the pudong district, but when it got dark, my disappointment disappeared and i was surprised by how alive the city looked at night. the vue bar on the 33rd floor is well worth a visit, as are the pool and gym. breakfast in the 3rd floor is also a must, with a delicious array of western and asian cuisine. within walking distance of the bund, this hotel is definitely worth a visit.

Very Comfortable Stay”

Proximity to the bund, quiet, rooms are large with views, great restaurants, good gym and pool
Nil

We had a 4 night stay in June. Our first meal was in the Xindalu Restaurant on the ground floor with great Peking Duck and elegant Shanghainese dishes. It is close to all the tourist attractions but it is just a couple of minutes from all the hustle and bustle of the bund thus making it rather pleasant. The rooms were well designed, there is a great view of the river and the bund from most windows. Staff were friendly, smiling, helpful and speaking good English. Most places were only a taxi ride away never costing more than 20 RMB. Their western restaurant Vue and the Vue bar served pretty good French cuisine and has a commanding view over both the Bund and of Pudong. Having a drink and a meal there is relaxing after a day of sight seeing. If you do not want a full breakfast at the hotel, there is always the choice of delicious steam buns (Bao) and other Asian breakfast foods in two convenience shops opposite the hotel. The gym and the pool are both clean and the staff are helpful and considerate. Very good value for the price. Reasonably priced cocktails are served in the lobby bar.

Amazing view on the Pu Dong”

Great spacious room, awesome view and excellent staff

we stayed in this hotel for two nights and chose the hotel for its view on the pu dong. while a lot of the nice things can be done in pu dong, residing there is a negative since you cannot see it at night. we therefore chose hyatt on the bund as it had the view on the pu dong. the hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of cleanliness, staff, space and especially the view. we could see the pu dong and oriental pearl tower from our bed room and even bathroom. it was amazing. staff and food was excellent as well. however, if you are looking for a hotel close to a metro station, i.e. 3-5min walking distance, it will not work out for you. the next metro station was quite far away. given taxis are not too expensive in china, we used a taxi which was always conveniently outside the hotel.

Looked way better than in the pictures”

friendly and very attentive staff, free red wine, breathtaking view of the bund

It was a great experience. Almost 180 degree view of The Bund right from your huge windows, from the family room, the bedroom, and right even from the bathroom. All windows have electronically retracting curtains. Best that you keep them closed till sunset then open it at night when the lights are on for a natural high! The layout is great--plenty of doors that make every room very accessible considering its size. Within the suite there are plenty of power outlets so it's really convenient. The living room is well furnished with earth colors and ambient lighting. It connects to the pantry and bedroom with a very soft kingsize bed and fluffy linen. The bedroom connects to the pantry and huge toilet and bath. The T/B is stone-furnished, which gave it a nice spa effect. You can enjoy the view of the Bund while dipping in the huge bath tub. This connects huge walk-in closet which also leads to the pantry. Very happy to find a free bottle of red wine, with compliments from the Hotel manager. Luxury at its finest.

We stayed in the hotel at the beginnig of may and had perfect weather. Views are really fantastic especially from the club rooms. High recomendation for Vue bar = really best view on Shanghai panorama - The Bund and Pudong together. Perfect 5 star service in whole hotel. Location for people whose want to use MTR is little discomfort 15 - 20 min to nearest station but the walk through the new bund promenade is very attractive. Very nice modern minimalist design in the lobby.

The location close to the beginning of the BUND and the pedestrian precinct is very convenient. The hotel is the usual high Hyatt standard. The staff speak excellent English, are very professional and the rooms are of a high standard. I can also recommend the restaurant - albeit on the pricy end of the spectrum, the quality is excellent. The bar on the top is also a nice place to enjoy an evening drink, but it can get busy there, so go early.

Great buffets!”

Our room was facing the river but to get the classic Bund view with the pearl tower, you'll need suite rooms ending in 06 on the floor. Cool glass elevators and very delicious breakfast and dinner buffets. I would try the dried apricots, they're not very sweet! The pool was not very deep but, considering it was raining all weekend, it was very good. The gym facilities and sauna are very clean. Service staff is excellent. Location-wise, it's a very short walk to the Bund. There are a lot of construction sites around the area so facing the river was the better option.

Christmas on the Bund”

Vue Bar view, room view, and the locker room.

My husband and I spent Christmas here with our two children (7 and 2). Everything was great, but we were sorely disappointed by the temperature of the pool and hot tub. We were a little cold, as were our kids, until we actually went to the hot tubs in the locker rooms. But I had to go on one side, and my husband had to go to the men's locker room with the kids. That kinda sucked! From the hotel you can walk to the bund and take great photos. There are tons of great restaurants and clubs close by (taxi distance), and the Vue Bar has an excellent view of the city. I will go back in warmer months.
