Great hotel with fantastic location.”

Breakfast buffet is great, fantastic location for shopping .

I've enjoyed 2 stays at the Hyatt Regency Chicago and will definitely stay there again next time. The service is perfect and staff show genuine care and concern for guests. They attended to my every need and looked for other ways to assist on things I didn't even think of. And I really enjoy the breakfast buffet... one of the best in comparison to all hotels I've stayed at around the world. Great job!

Empty box tissue?”

Before we stayed in Hyatt Regency Chicago, we were staying at Hampton Inn, Lafayette, and I would say Hampton Inn is a bit beyond normal service. The room was clean, fresh, and it seems they used a soft water system. The room in Hyatt, the carpet is kind of old, there was left over used plastic glass under the table, and no tissue, in the tissue holder! We ended left $2 tip at the end.

Didn’t matter what time of day we entered or left- we were always greeted with a smile and a positive attitude! Definitely made our trip so much more exciting when asked “how was your day?”! The staff do an amazing job of making everyone feel welcome! Kyle was always quick to get us anything we needed- clean towels etc- he even found me a fan because I can’t sleep without the noise 🤷🏻‍♀️- I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone thinking of traveling to Chicago!!

Great Service”

the view, the bed, the shower

We had a problem with the toilet and it was addressed as soon as we reported it. Upon check in I asked if we could have a room with a view, in spite of it being a very economical two nights stay over a busy weekend (Dec. 19-21). I didn't expect much because of the price, but the ck-in lady gave us a room on the 20th floor of the west tower with a view of the lake and Navy Pier. Loved it. There were two used (from previous occupant) behind the TV, obviously not found by housekeeping. I threw them away.

Wonderful staff and great breakfast”

We find the hotel to be situated in a very convenient location. The most impressive thing about the hotel is the friendliness of the staff, the comfortable rooms, the relaxed atmosphere and the wonderful breakfast. We found the evening menu very limited. As the weather was so cold we would have been happy to eat in every night. However, having said that we love the hotel and would go back again.

Excellent location and facilities. Room was clean and comfortable.”

Self parking was convenient and a variety of restaurants were in house or within walking distance. Also, properties were connected to avoid street traffic. Close to the pier, park and Michigan Ave. Only con is a “got-cha” snack tray located on the rooms main credenza. Snack items for purchase are placed on a sensor. If you pick up an item, you’ve purcased it. Instructions are in fine print. It’s only natural to handle an item while considering a purchase, but in this case you’re going to be charged for it even if you return it to it’s place. This is almost impossible to avoid and with kids inevitable. In my opinion it lowers the propertys reputation to allow such. I guess onecould ask itbe removed.

In Chicago for wedding”

My problem with the Hyatt has to do with the dated and inadequate furnishings in the room. No fridge space, it was already jammed with the snacks and drinks they want to sell you. No microwave to heat anything up you might have bought at the"Market" downstairs at hyper-inflated prices. No table to sit at with even the semblance of comfort. No place to put luggage but the floor. On the plus side, room was large and staff helpful.

OK for what was needed”

We were offered an "upgrade" upon arrival. The room was nice, view from window was great, but the glasses in bathroom were dirty, and never got replaced. Only every other day were we left with a bathmat (no big deal, we used another towel), but the towels only sometimes got replaced (we are OK with using same towels repeatedly to conserve water, but the towels we hung up would get removed, and only a towel or two remained!). There were rings left by us using the glasses once we washed them out that were left the entire stay, and the tv only worked occasionally. Bartender seemed put out when my husband asked what kinds of whiskey they had, but staff otherwise seemed very friendly. It met our needs for the work trip we had, but I was disappointed, especially since we paid extra for the "upgrade".

Dated furniture in rooms and musty old smell but prices are high”

We booked a suite and paid what we thought would usually get us a modern room with reasonably newish furniture and a decent sized bathroom. The room was large which was great but the bathroom was small with no ventilation and stained grout and wall tiles. The furniture looks like its been there for 30 years and is old and worn looking. The bedside tables are still the old wooden fixed to wall type that fit not much more than a telephone and a book. The room smelt old and musty too. The view over the river and city was spectacular however. The lobby is very modern and check in fast plus American Craft the lobby restaurant and breakfast venue is very good. Better than I expected. Room service was good most days but on others not so good so it depends on who you get. I wouldn't stay there again due to the poor quality of the room fitout.
