Staff at restaurant needs to be better trained.”

While we enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt at Hakone, we were a disappointed with the service at the restaurant. We were the only guests from the sub-continent. When we went in " we were asked Western or Japanese ? We said we will decide after looking at the menu. We were seated. My wife wanted the Japanese menu, they said we would have to move to the Japanese section and there were no seats available. The maitre d" then asked us whether we were familiar with Western cuisine ? This was ridiculous. There was one large room with a cooking island in the middle. So I did not see how it mattered which cuisine we wanted. I have stayed and eaten in the best hotels and restaurants in Asia, Europe and the North America and to be asked whether we were familiar with Western cuisine was insulting. What if we were not ?Would we have been refused entry ?

Very expensive but good but inflexible”

The room was one of the best we have ever stayed at. Separate sitting area with table chair and fridges was really good as i always get up about 5,00am and could go and read etc without the disturbing my wife. They have a very good for bar form 4.00 - 7.00pm with free good champagne and wine. We arrived after the stop off and paying about £400 a night not including breakfast you think we might have been offered a complimentary drink no such luck!! The other thing when we were leaving they would not take us down to the station before 10am it is only 5 minutes away by car. Little things like this should be sorted

One of the hotels that I adore”

Accessible, relaxing, beautiful, spa, nice amenities

The staff in the hotel are friendly and approachable and do not hesitate to assist you when you need help such as getting to laces around Hakone, erc. Rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. What I had enjoyed the most is the exclusiveness of the SPA and the private feel that it gives off. In short, I love my stay!! And definitely I'll come back to this hotel again.

Lovely Hotel,Great Service”

Great Location and Great Rooms and Complimentary Champagne!

we stayed here for one night whilst sightseeing in hakone. upon check in we had been told that we had been upgraded to a deluxe room as it was our honeymoon - lovely touch. the room was lovely, large and clean with a great view. the bathroom was great as well included a little shower room with stall so you could sit whilst you showered (we had got used to this at the onsens!). in the evening there were complimentary drinks in the living room (we had champagne!) between 4-7pm and in the morning they did the same with juices and tea/coffee - very simple but excellent touch. staff were very friendly and efficient - it was very nice to have to collection from gora station and they also kept our bags whilst we went sightseeing and then delivered them back to gora station when we called to say we were there - again a small touch but was lovely service tip. would stay here again for sure.

Excellent”

We stayed here in April. Hotel is located up in the hill of Hakone in a leafy part of town. Overlooks the hills. A few tasty restaurants around. Break down: - Room: Spacious with adjoining balcony. Rooms came with water, wifi, and tea/coffee - Bed: Comfortable. Had two double beds pushed together wasn't expected ideal. - Bathroom: Great and spacious - Restaurant: Great quality food. With 3 course meal and drinks it was around 200 AUD total. - Staff: Exceptional. Very friendly. - Location: We had a car so access wasn't an issue. Was removed from the main area of Hakone making it peaceful. - Facilities: Has a grand fire place with arranged free drinks for the guests which was great. The onsen was great too unfortunately was segregated by sex. - Extras: no gift on arrival as it was with other hotels as we were on out honeymoon Overall: We would consider staying here again. Would be nice if they had couple onsen facilities.

So beautiful and relaxing!”

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hyatt. It was incredibly relaxing. We made sure to use the onsen twice a day (at least) and we also enjoyed the public onsen (Tenzen). On our first night we ate at the sushi restaurant in the hotel because we had not seen the al a carte menu. It was ok but not amazing and was very expensive. The second night we ordered the wagyu beef from the al a carte menu and had it in our room. The meal was so delicious and the service incredible. They made up the table in the room with full table cloth and everything. It was a very enjoyable experience. Also, the complimentary drinks every evening from 4-7 was great and we drank a fair amount of champagne! The assistant manager of food and beverage was also incredibly helpful as he could see I was looking up things to do on my iPad and he came over and assisted and gave great suggestions. We will certainly be back and will probably stay longer than just two nights.

Beautiful serene location. Spa and onsen highly recommended. The free “happy hour” from 4pm to 7pm was fabulous. Pretty good red wine and beautiful “living room” with large fireplace. Great hang out space. They have a shuttle to take you to other locations as it is fairly isolated from nearby attractions. The shuttle runs from 10am. We left at 9am for train station at Gora (a downhill steep walk, winding road and difficult with suitcases). It was a 20 minute wait for a taxi and the staff offered to take us before operating hours in the hotel car to the train station! Everyone there is extremely accommodating. Rooms are nice and bathrooms fabulous. You can lounge around all day in the “outdoor” kimono robe throughout the hotel. Suggest a minimum of 2 nights to really appreciate the surroundings.

Large room and ammenities, Hot spring, Food and staff

This is my fourth stay at the hotel although it is my second booking through Agoda. This is definitely one of my favourite hotel because the staffs are friendly and can converse well in English. Room service was excellent because of its punctuality. Hotel location was near to transport and the tourist locations can easily be accessible via the nearby cable car!! EXCELLENT!! The hot spring it self provides for a great deal of privacy unlike many of the other hot springs hotel around :)

The staff were very attentive and helpful. There are free drinks from 4 - 7 pm in the dining room, which has a large wood burning fire place. The onsen (hot spring) is open 6am = midnight and is absolutely wonderful and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Hakone.

Lovely hotel with spacious room”

Big room, clean and staff that can speak good English

Very helpful staff who can speak fluent English enable seamless check-in. Onsen/SPA is small but good enough. Lack of food choice (only two restaurants) and there is absolutely limited restaurants nearby. Even if you drive 20min to Hakone. No free internet access in room or opening area is the biggest minus. Other than that I am happy with the stay. Really nice rooms and environment.

Happy hour, onsen, quiet

We stayed for one night and were impressed with this resort. There is a free hotel shuttle that runs into town (the hotel is not walkable up the hill from Gora station) that drops you off at a gorgeous hotel with helpful staff. There is a happy hour between 4pm and 7pm where hotel guests have unlimited free alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks and this was great. The onsen is clean and private and a relaxing experience. Fabulous design and decor. Room size and design. The beauty of the surrounding area.

It was a bit of a trek up the mountain to get there, but well worth the trip. The hotel is stunningly designed and decorated. The rooms are huge and well equipped. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent, although quite busy being a weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt in this beautiful setting after the bustle of Tokyo.

Rooms, spa and peace

We had a nice stay with our two year old and loved the rooms and views over mountains and forests. The food and service were excellent. There are notices around the seating area implying young children aren't entirely welcome unless they behave but in reality everybody is friendly and accommodating. Hyatt hospitality”

The hotel is close to kami-gora cable-car station, and just 5 minutes taxi ride from Gora station. Is a modern elegant building, the room are spacious and, of course, of highest standard. The hotel features a beautiful lounge, with a warm central fireplace, where you can enjoy free drinks between 16:00 and 19:00. The staff is very professional and some of them even friendly. I had a disappointment because one of the reception staff told me that to reach the hot spring I had to pass through the outside passage on LB floor, and it was very cold outside. Actually the hot spring is connected internally from the 1st floor lounge. I cannot understand what he had in his mind when told me to pass from outside.
