“BAD FRONT DESK CUSTOMER SERVICE”
On 20th August 2025, I had booked 2 King Bed with Sea View rooms. One room for my parents and another room for 2 adults + 1 child. Booking and payment was made through Agoda app and booking confirmation was received for both the rooms. On 17th September 2025, we arrived at the hotel at around 3:30pm and proceeded to the check-in counter. We were aware that check-in for this particular hotel is at 4pm, as I have been here previously. At the check-in counter, we were informed that 1 room was ready, thus we proceeded to the room. Upon arrival at the room, it is not the room I have paid for, we were given a garden view room, which has a lower price. The porter too had already arrived at the room with us with all our bags. Thus, I had to make everyone go back to the lobby, and wait there while I went back to the check-in counter. Upon informing the staff, she proceeded to check the system and said that I was given a family room as requested and all family rooms only have garden view. I informed her that I HAVE NOT made any special or specific requests at all, I only purchased 2 rooms with King Bed and Sea View, which has the most highest price, but we specifically wanted the sea view as that is the main attraction of this hotel. She then checked her system, and then proceeded to enter a room behind the counter, then came out and told me there was a mix-up and the room distribution team was sorting it out. So, I waited at the lobby with my family. Around 5 minutes later, she gave me a room key, and I went to check that we had got the correct room, before proceeding to give the key to my elderly parents for them to check in and settle down first. I was informed that I would receive a phone call once the 2nd room was ready. So, I waited. I waited until 4pm which was supposedly the check-in time, and still no phone call was received. At 4:10pm, I proceeded to the lobby and stood in front of the check-in counter, but the lady staff who had arranged my check-in earlier was ignoring me and avoiding eye contact, and did not care to update me on the progress. So, I waited another 10 minutes in front of her specific counter. Still nothing. At 4:22pm I walked up to her and asked what is going on. She appeared flustered and kept saying "sekejap ye sekejap ye" and went walking around talking to other staff. I was really disappointed and angry at this point. Having paid a lot for this so-called 5-star resort and staff is behaving like this. At around 4:30pm, I was called to another counter where a male staff was giving more excuses to me, and said the delay was because I needed a connecting room????? I got more frustrated as I HAD NEVER asked or made any of these requests at all. I immediately told him all I wanted was what I had booked in the app, which is KING BED and SEA VIEW, and THAT IS ALL, and he got up and walked away and suddenly magically there was a room available and he was going on about the room is on 3rd floor and I just said I don't care, it's been half an hour past the already late check-in time, other hotels check in at 3pm, this hotel check in IS at 4pm and now at 430pm I am still stuck at the lobby. He then gave me the key card and that was it. No apology at all. No apology for all the mix-ups, no apology for blaming everything on the customer, when I DID NOT EVEN MAKE ANY SPECIFIC REQUESTS. I walked away after thanking him in disappointment and anger. Having been to this hotel previously, I certainly did not expect this kind of staff attitude, it was really surprising. Upon arriving at my room, I did receive a Sea View room, but I did not get my King Bed. Instead, I received 2 single beds. So, my sister took 1 bed, and me and my daughter had to cramp up in 1 single bed for 2 uncomfortable nights of sleep. I did not have the energy to make another fuss at the check-in counter as I knew they would try to put the blame on me again. Not worth it.
