Great stay in Kyoto”
Hyatt Regency Kyoto is a great hotel. There is a bus line that runs on the street of the hotel; cabs were also always available. The staff is wonderful and many staff members speak English. We were told the rooms in the second building are bigger which is where we stayed. The walk is to the second building a little long from the lobby, especially after a day of touring the city. While we didn't see a room in the main building our standard room was a good size with a great an amazing walk in shower. If I ever go back to Kyoto, I would stay at Hyatt Regency Kyoto again.
Contemporary Hotel with peerless service”
We arrived at Hyatt Regency Kyoto around 10am and were immediately given a room, the english speaking staff were extremely helpful. In the morning there was free coffee outside the hotel (which we took advantage of several times, because we walked to Kyoto station a few times). Kyoto station is about a 4minute walk from the hotel (you can get to anywhere in Kyoto from the station itself), making our daily sightseeing ventures very easy. The rooms are very clean and modern. We ate at all the restaurants at the hotel except Touzan (the italian restaurant and the Grill were excellent). We would definitely return here for a second stay.
Hyatt Regency Kyoto”
The Hyatt Regency Kyoto has been the best hotel I have stayed at in Japan. The atmosphere and the design of the building was amazing. The wait staff was always super helpful. The linens and supplied robes were in perfect condition.. The free bottled water was a welcome and needed perk. The hotel was convenient to Kyoto Station and the Keihan train station, and the river which made for a convenient running route... The room was super big and comfortable. The climate control system actually worked. The in room safe was amazing. It had a piston to hold it open, and a power point to plug in rechargeable devices. It was super easy to use. The traditional food a the Touzan restaurant was great. There was even a wedding going on after we checked in.
Superb staff, great location, tranquil, beautiful”
This is my third stay and the Hyatt Regency Kyoto is one of my three favorite hotels in the world. Wonderful staff, suberb service, great location, traditional 'feel' yet elegant & intimate modernity. Excellent restaurants, and great bar. The Hyatt Regency is, in my view, the best high quality hotel in Kyoto, and the perfect place to stay for those not wanting the 'ryokan' experience'
Hyatt Regency Kyto”
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency for 5 nights and used it as a base for my travels around Kansai area. Its a convenient hotel to visit all the sites in Kyoto and the staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. You can purchase the all day bus pass from the concierge and they have excellent suggestions for restaurants in Kyoto.
great hotel stay experience”
The Hyattt regency kyoto is the best hotel we stay so far in places over Japan in years. Great hotel architecture which carry a modern theme but blend with traditional Kyoto arts. Very professional services from their staffs with courtesy and dedication to help. We are very satisfied.
A fantastic stay at Hyatt Regency Kyoto”
We had a great time in Kyoto and in Hyatt especially. The room was spacious very clean and tidy and the staff extremely polite and helpful. They hepled us book tours provided anything we asked for immediately and gave us loads of information about places we wanted to go and see. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast very much as well as the drinks at the Touzan bar. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who would be prepared to spend a bit more for a five star experience.
Hyatt Kyoto”
this is one of the best hotels in Kyoto with efficient and friendly service. large rooms (by Japanese standards) and nicely designed lobby make this a good place for rest after a long day sightseeing in Kyoto. great location to some of the main temples as well as the main train station. a little bit far away from downtown (shopping), Gion and some of the temples in the north (though everything within max 20min cab ride). we were traveling with young child (16months) and staff was very helpful (and at times tolerant) in dealing with it.
Decent.”
Our stay at Hyatt Regency Kyoto was great. There's always Taxi at the Lobby. The location says it is near the station but in fact its a few kilometer walk :( Close to Sanjusangendo Temple and Kyoto National Museum (Temporarily Closed) which is nice. What i expected from a Hyatt Hotel.
great stay”
we stayed for 1 night only and would have loved to stay more. great hotel: great rooms (the one we had was one of the classic double room) that include a very nice japanese-style bathroom, a very comfy double-bed and stylish furniture. Very clean (carpet on the floor)and room definitely large enough. the personnel was extremely nice and helpful whatever we needed (and good english level which is also nice!) Somewhat pricy though (despite a nice last-minute rebate - thanks Agoda)... but save on other hotel to pay that one then ! A little far away from the most well-known attractions of Kyoto but I'm afraid it's the case of most hotels in Kyoto
Good Hotel but no gym”
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto for 3 nights. All in all it was a satisfatory experience for a Hyatt hotel. The rooms were well appointed and spacious, water pressure in the shower was good. The location of the hotel is good for sight seeing. It is 2 subway stops to the Ginza nightlife and directly opposite a museum and near a temple. Internet charges were a tad on the high side.
Lovely Stay”
I enjoyed the Hyatt as a last minute stay. It was definitely satisfactory for the price since everything was booked in the area for the night. The breakfast buffet was expensive, but had an adequate selection. The hotel room was large, and very well decorated. The bathroom was gorgeous.
Love to stay at Kyoto”
I'd stayed Hyatt Kyoto for 2 nights for a trip with my family. It's a perfect place to stay while the environment matching the romantic Kyoto.
A wonderful hotel.......at a price!”
This is definitely one of the nicest places I've stayed in but I can't say that it's good value as it was also one of the most expensive. But if your going to splurge anywhere then Kyoto is a good place to do it! The sights in Kyoto are spread out so no one hotel will be convenient for all of them. This place is a 20 minute walk from the main station and 5 from the nearest metro. There are also buses and good shops/restaurants on the same road.
Revisit to Kyoto”
This was our third stay at the Hyatt Kyoto and continues to impress with great facilities, good location right next to the temple of 1000 Buddhas and excellent staff.
Hyatt Regency next to Sanjyu-Sangen-Do”
I chose Hyatt Regency Kyoto for my last day in Kyoto because my experience at Hyatt Regency Hakone was a great one. This one in Kyoto is a little bit older than one in Hakone. Still the size of the hotel is good, not too large, not too small. I could feel that all the staff was trying their best to be helpful. I would stay there again when I have a chance.
cozy environment and great services ”
we do really like to stay in hyatt. i have never commented before but for hyatt i love to. bed is perfect for family. environment is perfect ; cozy and comfort. bathroom is great; water is so strong and bathtub is separate from shower point. location for me is very good ; 700 yen taxi to train station , next to the famous temple. service is perfect.
Comfortable, luxurious, fantastic!”
We went to the Hyatt for a special occasion during the trip and were very happy with the room, as well as with the hotel's staff, bar and overall service. Comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom, fantastic design in the lobby, the hotel surroundings and room. Amazing service!!
Beautiful Japanese style but international hotel ”
Had 3 wonderful nights at the Hyatt in Kyoto. Good location, great food, wonderful staff. Loved the Japanese details in the design.
Clean, Great Location, Excellent Service”
Overall stay was pleasant from check-in through to check-out including extensive usage of the concierge service. One of us was sick during the trip unfortunately and we were well taken care of by the hotel staff and really appreciate them for it too. If you're in Kyoto city - this is the best hotel to stay in. Do manage your expectations that the bed is a smaller King size than what you're used to in the US - but I think this is not uncommon in Japan.
