      Great resort ”

      Staff, location and cleaniness.

i Tara Resort and Spa is a gem in the Phetchaburi area. The secluded beach is pleasant despite having quite a few shells scattered around. Staff are very friendly and attentive plus the breakfast included is pretty good. You choose the options from the menu ranging from Thai dishes up to American breakfast and Danish pastries. The Beach bungalow is an excellent room, not too far from the beach and with the door open you can hear the sound of the ocean. Overall an excellent place to stay and will be returning again for New Year :D

      Vertigo in Pool”

And I thought people only suffer the vertigo effect when flying an airplane. Their vast pool lined against the backdrop of the shoreline and sunny skies so inviting, I went for a swim. The pool was a swimming pool blue and truly just that blue, no lines no markings. So, I had no idea which direction I was facing when I attempted to swim its length, and crash myself into the equally blue wall as it was impossible to judge the distance from the edge underwater. Well that aside, the Deluxe Room I had was one of the most pleasant and clean rooms I had staying in multiple hotels this province. This hotel was priced right for the excellent conditions of the rooms and its furnishing, and also for the spectacular view of the sea. It was a balance between seclusion and totally being left neglected compared to the smaller establishments this area (I had stayed in resorts which I was totally left alone on weekdays). The only joke I saw was the gym, 2 equipments in a glass room the size of a toilet but never mind that. I had wanted massage at the spa, and was told “no doctor was in”, but again never mind that. Breakfast was hearty, a buffet line. But I did wonder if I was the only one that stayed, will there be a buffet. There was a seminar going on and so it was worth the hotel to put out the spread. It was me business trip, it was just a short drive to town and I did not want to stay in town. I want to relax after work by the beach in comfort and this hotel satisfied that. I will be back again so this means it was worth me stay. It would be highly desirable to get one of their ocean facing private villas up front, but that was way too pricy for what the resort, and my pocket, could offer.

Really nice hotel with friendly staff”

New, clean and a superb location for relaxation.

I've stayed at the i-Tara before, when it first opened. It's location makes it ideal for relaxation and in winter, is central to all the birdwatching sites around. A car is a must. The hotel is in Laem Pak Bia, a tiny village with a couple of shops, two hours south of Bangkok by car and about an hour north of Cha Am. Petchaburi is about 20km away, about 40 minutes in a car.If it's all-in entertainment or bars you want, forget it. It's a quiet hotel. There is a local boatman who does birdwatching trips out to a sandspit and longer trips out to see whales. It is located right on the sea. Leave you balcony door oen at night and you can hear the waves on the beach. There are nice gardens and a great pool next to a mainly deserted beach. The rooms are spacious and clean, the air-con quiet. Each room has a sea view and a balcony. The bathroom is large with a nice shower cubicle. Maybe lighting is a bit subdued, but it's manageable.I wanted a low pillow and there was one available. A kettle and tea and coffee made getting up early a little bit easier. The usual two free bottles of water were renewed each day. There was a room safe and a decent flatscreen TV although there were no english channels of note. All the staff were friendly and helpful and those on reception spoke good english. If I had any minor complaints about the hotel, it would be the food. Relatively expensive and the menu didn't have that much choice and the portions were small when the came. The breakfast buffet was the typical cold eggs, plastic sausages and ham, and fatty bacon. However, when I asked for a fresh omelette it came quickly. I also had laundry done which was fine when it was returned, but once again, relatively expensive. These two things shouldn't put anyone off staying at the i-Tara. If it's peace and quiet you want and a good base to explore the local area, then this hotel is fine.

      iTara”

i Tara resort was wonderful. The room was fine, but nothing extraordinary. The view was lovely. The pool is nicely designed and enjoys a stunning oceanfront location. The beach is tiny and rocky, but provides an exhilarating swim in the suddenly deep waters. The restaurant at i Tara was very good and fairly priced. Location is a bit remote from the surrounding attractions, which suited us fine. It is quiet and peaceful. We found this resort to be a much needed break from the many filled with children, which was also great. Value is ok, but we had a great time.

      Nice, quiet and peaceful.”

Got private beach, very nice and quiet.

we had a very pleasant stay, everything was great until the check-out. one of the two rooms we booked, a coffee cup was missing and we were asked about this, so we couldn't leave as a staff at the reception phoned the housekeepers to double check if the lost item was really missing. we told them we didn't take it, my sister said she saw only one cup in the room since the first time we stepped in. i understand it is their duty to ask when this such a thing happens, but we felt like we were criminals were being held for further interrogation. eventually a staff at the reception said, it could be found, so she + one more staff apologised. but i don't think they really found it, cos there was only a cup in the room since in the first place anyway, but i think they just didn't want to argue with customers over one coffee cup, so they just said it could be found. i understand it is their job to ask, but i think it would be great if they could put a list of their properties in the room and remind their guests or any other methods to check if anything missing since in the first place to prevent this kind of incident again. we really love this place and i am sure many people do, but only this kind of incident, it can demolish everything in the end.

Quiet, good for family, very clean.

Enjoyed stay very much with young family, not much around hotel but if you looking for quiet family resort to relax for couple days it's a nice place. We there on long weekend and quite a few families with young children there which gave our little person others to play with so he enjoyed it very much as well, excellent pool for children and right on the beach.

Good facilities and remote from busy public beach

The hotel is quite new with good facilites provided. The room is clean and big enough for comfort living. The swimming pool is nice size and have a good sea view. The hotel is located further away from a busy public beach at Chao Lao beach so give a peace for relaxation. Not nearby local sea food restaurant without driving a car but have a good enough restaurant inside the hotel but a bit pricey.

private beach, nice infiinity pool, clean

My coworkers and I booked 3 rooms at i Tara for a school competition. We chose this property as all other hotels in Phetchaburi were booked full and only a few resorts had rooms available. Of the three that had rooms, i Tara had the best reviews. However, our impression was that it's a bit over rated. The rooms are nice but nothing special. The design of the hotel tries to be chic but is just a typical Thai style boutique resort that I've seen a dozen other places. The quality of the breakfast buffet was poor but this is common at hotels here in Thailand. Overall, I do not think the price of the room is worth what you get. I'd stay here again if the rate was about half what they charge; otherwise, we'll book someplace else should we ever return to this province.

      short break”

chose this Hotel, as it was not too far a drive from Bangkok, and the previous reviews were OK. so here are my thoughts: Positives: Clean spacious rooms, and large bathroom Food was very good and tasty I thought breakfast was good pool and surrounding area very clean easy access to small beach area Not too far from public beach area and few beach restaurants Negative: The beach is not really for kids or able to sit on a little too much litter for my liking, wouldnt take one of the staff more than 5 mins just to wander down in the morning and remove the washed up bottles and plastic bags... make it look cleaner we will come back to this resort though

      Quiet hotel with improvement required”

      Private beach, quiet atmosphere

We were there for a night during the weekday and the place was really peaceful and quiet. One thing I really love is the privacy of the beach there. Staffs are nice and welcoming. The facilities are also good. One problem there was that the room and the place was not so clean during the time I visited. Maybe they dont do the cleaning much during the weekday which I think this will lower the standard of a hotel. Breakfast is quite nice though.

      Nice hideaway from Bangkok”

Quite - Nice Pool - Good food

This place is only 2 hours drive from Bangkok and the area is not crowded. The place was fully booked but we did not feel the crowd except for breakfast. The choice of breakfast could have been more but they were good. Our stay was pleasant. Pool were nice but you cannot really play much on the beach. They were quite steep. All you can do i walk on the sand. Nothing much to do at this place except going to the Royal project to observe the mangroves and birds. You can also take hire the fisherman's boat for a trip to Laem Phuk Bia. Overall the place is highly recommended!

Great location but you need your own car”

Clean room, good food, nice pool

Great stay - efficient staff, clean rooms (although they're a bit creaky in parts). Beach ain't super awesome, but it's nice enough - your average beach for this region of Thailand. Great pool with a handy kids area, though there's no shade and the sun can be very bright. Nice quiet location, but I imagine without your own car it would be a pain relying on other forms of transport. Had a nice, comfortable stay overall, although I would say this isn't quite a 4-star property, maybe 3.5.

Nice stay in an empty hotel”

close to beach, close to Bangkok, quiet area

We spent 5 days here with our two boys (5 and 1.5 years old). I don't know why but we were the only guests in this 50-100 room hotel for 3 days, for the rest of the days there were only few other guests. As I hate being the only guest in a restaurant, we didn't use it during our stay except for breakfast. The breakfast was OK, although they didn't provide buffet style every day for us (being the only guest in the hotel is their problem not mine). The pool is very good and access to the beach too. Don't expect tropical paradise as on Krabi or Koh Chang, but considering the distance to Bangkok airport this was what we were looking for. The rooms are clean except for ants we were fighting with. Generally we were satisfied, but being alone there in this big ghost hotel was a bit scary sometimes :-)

Great resort hotel in a mediocre location”

room, breakfast and garden with see view

The stay at the resort was great, and with your own transportation it's a good base to explore Pethburi or the beaches just south that are a bit nicer than the beach near the hotel. If you're not after swimming in the sea or walking long walks along the beach (a bit south of hotel the beach is blocked by rocks) the resort as such is a wonderful place.
