ibis budget Hotel Edinburgh Park
Nice staff and very helpful”
Very Good and recommended if you travel with family. Value for money.
The hotel is fine, five or six stops from the airport by tram, which costsSIX POUNDS each way. You need either a contactless tap card or loads of coins.
The hotel is ok. It is clean and has everything that you may expect for a budget hotel. However , the receptionist was very rude!! The receptionist was a lady with brown hair (i did not get her name) - I checked in on 24 May 2019 at around 10.10 am, and she was the only receptionist at that time. Horrible experience. Will never go back nor recommend this hotel to anybody. To be fair to other staff, other than the receptionist, they are all nice and polite.
HOTEL WAS BASIC BUT WHAT A FANTASTIC TEAM YOU HAVE WORKING FOR YOU . NOTHING WAS TO MUCH TROUBLE SO HELPFUL AND WOULD USE AGAIN .BREAKFAST WAS VERY GOOD. GOING BACK TO THE STAFF ALL 100% HELPFUL VERY GOOD MINI BREAK THANK YOU
it is purely "what you pay - what you get" kinda hotel. Cheap rooms but 0 facilities. Connected to Tram and Airport is very close (taxi fare 12.00 gbp from hotel to airport)
Clean but simple”
We paid an exaggerated price for the Edinburgh Marathon stay. We found ample parking but noticed some drivers had problems later. The hotel is located quite near to a tram station allowing easy access to the City centre. The building is modern and up to date with several modern technical installations. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly as were those who looked after the breakfast arrangements. An ample breakfast was provided but nothing cooked. the coffee machine caused some problems until it was realised how to work it. Space in the bedroom was just adequate and no chairs or wardrobe were provided. During the night a motor throbbing could be heard which might disturb some people. The shower was excellent and the toilet had automatic lighting. Access to the rooms was by a touch key which also turned on the room electricity. I would recommend the hotel as a cheap staying place but would suggest that you check prices.
What an awesome place to stay! Such great value for money. For the same price as an old small hotel in the city you can stay at a brand new, extremely clean hotel with very friendly staff. Its basic as its an ibis budget but we were honestly so happy with our stay! Tram stop literally across the road taking you either straight into the city or straight to the airport.
Just like a cruise ship cabin”
Think cruise ship, but in port. The room is just like a cabin with a view. Very clean, but quite basic. Perfect location if you are driving, as they have a car park and the tram into the city is a couple of minutes walk away at a big shopping centre. Important: no separate bathroom. Shower opens onto the room, so don't share a room with someone you are not comfortable being naked with. Toilet is in a sort of cupboard with no door lock. Brilliant for a single traveller.
Returning home from a long vacation”
It was the best hotel that we visited. Before we stayed in expensive hotels that were very inconvenient and difficult because they were not updated with the latest fixtures. This hotel provided the right accommodations and latest technology besides it was a budget hotel. Thank you.
clean and tidy, easy access to city”
we arrived late and there was 24hr checkin. the staff were very helpful and friendly. We went into town for sightseeing and staff suggested us not to drive but take tram, which was really great idea as it saved a lot in parking. Tram station is just walking distance and convenient. Clean room and nice stay.
I booked one night at an Ibis hotel that was near to Edinburgh Airport. It was the cheapest hotel I could find, it looked clean, so for one night I thought that would be O.K. What a treat this place was the staff were incredible, happy, smiling, more than wiling to help, they made me feel like the Queen. This service was not the normal " I'm smiling because I get paid to do so", this was genuine and it was wonderful. I was worried about getting to the airport on time the next morning, so the staff told me my options for doing that and then booked me a taxi. The room was space age and so very well designed. This was a room for an allergy sufferer like me, there was no nasty carpet. The lighting was bright and LED and best of all it had this high tech gismo that made the place energy efficient and good for the environment. Ibis gets a thumbs up for this from me. They give you just enough towels, the one for the shower was big. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well. The front desk had a hairdryer for me and I'm sure anything else I may have needed. The smart TV in the room let me set an alarm for the morning and the WiFi was free and fast. This felt like a 5 star hotel at the cost of a motel. I will definitely be back.
No Problems. These Premier Hotels are reliable and good value for money. However they are a chain like Holiday Inn and feel like one. As a traveler to Scotland you would want to get local flavor at quirky independent B+Bs and hotels. But an occasional stay at one of these, which offer no surprises, is fine.
I had a very pleasant stay at the Ibis on my last night in Edinburgh. I chose it as it was close to the airport and was easily accessible. The hotel room was well appointed and clean and user friendly. I was very impressed with the quality of the room.
Comfortable & Clean”
Very clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Although airport hotel, still had to pay 10 pounds to get to airport in am by taxi. It seemed expensive to stay there, but then Edinburgh is expensive.
Small room with very weird room design”
Pro: Hotel is very near to Edinburgh airport, if you need to go to the airport but have limited time, it is the cheapest hotel around that is nearest to the airport. Cons: 1) very weird room setting, the shower room door is transparent 😅, this looks more like a love motel where couples having affair go to for some steamy action 2) no kettle or cups in the room, which is one of the basic thing a budget hotel should have 3) room is very cold, especially now during winter time. If you are thinking of staying for few days, I would recommend you to go to other hotels for the price you are paying.
For one night only”
We stayed at Ibis because it was reasonably priced and close to the airport. It's a "no frills" establishment but it's unpretentious and it provided what was required. The rooms are very efficiently planned, compact even, and the decor was sparse but the shower cubicle was good. The heating could have been a little better considering it was Edinburgh in February but the room warmed up relatively quickly; the dining area, however, was decidedly chilly. Verdict: cheap, cheerful and functional
Typical Ibis...not near Airport, yet claims to be”
Nothing special...very small rooms and nothing nearby..only useful for late or early flights...otherwise better to stay in city, such as Tune Hotel at Haymarket Station
Cool and Comfortable Hotel”
I feel the early check in require 10GBP is ridiculous.
