Unpleasant experience with a hotel staff”

Good location, well- functioned bathroom, nice hotel room!

Overall my stay at the Ibis London Earls Court hotel was good except a very unpleasant experience with one of a senior staff at the information counter on the first day. Had requested to retrieve my baggage from the depository room as I needed to take out my jacket from the baggage due to the unexpected cold weather in London (as it's my first trip in London - unaware that the weather would turn cold despite a sunny day). However, the senior staff was rude and did not want to assist me to retrieve the baggage and he complained that I was delaying his job and he could not go back to the information counter. Hence, I had to do a search and retrieve the baggage myself and had to slowly push aside other travelers' baggage before I could reach my baggage. The senior staff just stood there and kept grumbling that I could have taken my jacket out before I deposited it (my room was not ready for early check-in and thus, I had to deposit my baggage with the hotel). I was shocked by the service provided. First time encounter such service from a hotel, I had stayed at Ibis hotel in Thailand and the hotel staff there was much more service-oriented and was always willing to assist customers.

Bathroom functioning well; nice bed; peaceful surrounding

Most ibis hotels did not have a good bathroom - flushing system not good. However, Ibis London Earls Court hotel definitely has a good bathroom - flushing system is working!! Hotel is located near to many supermarkets and the West Bromption tube station.

it is a very pleasant stay . the bath room is new and clean . the location of the hotel is superb !! thumbs up for the value of the money and the location. ( no exchange deal, no breakfast included) its closed to earl court exhibition hall , old Brampton commentary garden. (we saw a fox in the garden ;the middle of London city ) there is lots of small pubs and eatary place nearby . "The coffee Shop" just opposite the metro station ( West Brampton station ) serves valuable granny's made English breakfast ( only 4.95 pounds huge portion , which you should not miss ) my bf and i enjoyed our stay and we will be back . thank you

    Great location”

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from West Brompton station which is handy going around London. The place is clean and on a quite enough neighbourhood which is a plus around London. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have their own traditional bar on the first floor,an option if you don’t want to go out for drinks, although there are several near places for food and drinks if you do want to go out. And if you’re Filipino,Jollibee London is just the next train station if you’re craving a taste for Chickenjoy.

Ibis Earl's Court - Value for Money”

Good location - by bus or train
Only bath towels. Would appreciate face/hand towels too.

The hotel is conveniently located at West Brompton, and there is a direct bus service to Knightsbridge (Bus No. 74) which is just outside the hotel. The train station is also located just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The place is safe at night. I came back from an evening theatre performance after 11pm and still felt that the neighbourhood was safe. The train station (which is on the District Line) leads conveniently to Bayswater - where you can find good roast duck. In addition, there is the national rail that takes you to the outskirts of London. Great place.

    Its an Ibis!”

Typical Ibis value for money with good transport links (Underground and Overground trains) from West Brompton Station. about 250 yards away. No pool, no gym, no fancy stuff, just a clean room and a good breakfast for a great price. Staff are usually OK and helpful but you may get one having a bad day. .Rooms are well heated and double glazed. Bathroom is functional with plenty of hot water but don't expect toiletries except soap and towels. TV has a good selection of Freeview channels and there is free WiFi. No in-room safe though. There is an underground car park but its quite expensive. Hotel has a pub with EPL matches on a big screen and good pub grub. Restaurant is a self service buffet/carvery with good food. Does what it intends to do well. . Caters for businessmen and longer stay travellers who like good quality basic British food. You can feel at home here.

It is about 5mins from West Brompton Station and the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. I arrived the hotel around 8am in the morning and they allowed me to check in which is very kind of them. I would love to stay there again if I visit London again.

    Very good”

We stayed here for the bulk of our trip to London. The hotel is slightly out of the way, quite a distance from Earl's Court train station if you want more direct access to other parts of London. But there some very interesting street markets nearby which made our stay worthwhile. The room was clean and comfortable but lacking a refrigerator which made our six nights challenging. While the breakfast buffet is extensive, it was the same spread very single day.

    Convenient location. ”

This Ibis is pretty much standard Ibis, adequate accommodation for business and full of asian tourists. Its in a a convenient location close to West Brompton station on the District Line and also served by the Overground to Clapham Junction to Olympia, Shepherds Bush (Wesfield) and beyond. The in-house buffet restaurant is good but the bar is quite pricey. Much more expensive than a Premier Inn. Overall I prefer Premier Inns to Ibis but the room prices have increased since Whitbread took over. There is a basic room with TV and coffee/tea facilities. Lower floors are not as good as the upper ones. Check-in time is 2pm and its unusual to get a room earlier than that as the hotel is always full. There are a few reasonable supermarkets, shops. pubs and restaurants nearby, primarily in North End Road. North End Road is also famous for its fruit and vegetable street market where you can get high quality fresh fruit incredibly cheaply.

    Excellent hotel!!”

The room was comfortable and the staffs were very friendly! The view from my room was beautiful and being a Chelsea FC fan, I was even more happy when I realised that I could see Stamford Bridge from my room! The location of the hotel was great as it was within a 5 to 10 min walk to West Brompton Station which brought me to the city centre quickly and easily. The restaurant also offered a dinner buffet costing only 14.90 pounds with decent food. :)

Great location. Clean rooms with decent amount of space. Only negative side is that the hotel is in the landing path of planes headed to the London City Airport. There is constant aircraft noise which goes on from 5.30 am to the late evening. Other than that this is a very decent place to stay at. The best part is that the West Brompton Tube stop is just a 4 minutes walk from the hotel.

Excellent location, just outside the center, but near an Underground station. Also just outside the congestion zone, saving those coming by a car a few pounds. Plenty of stores and restaurants nearby, so no need to stay on in the center for that in the evening. Friendly staff. Basic lay-out and facilities, but that's what you can expect from this class of hotels. Flat screen TV with plenty of TV channels to choose from and a good bed. Overall excellent value for money and I would defintely stay there again on a next holiday in London.

If you don't need fancy facilities or a king-size bed then this place offers good value for money. Basic room, but everything works and the room and bathroom are clean. No in-room safe though. Restaurant serves edible buffet food and there is a lively sports bar with a reasonable menu. Drinks are pricy though. Underground car parking available - at a price. Convenient for West Brompton underground and overground station. A few restaurants around but its a local neighbourhood. More shopping variety one underground stop away at Fulham Broadway or two overground stops at Shepherds Bush which has a Westfield. shopping centre. Change at Gloucester Road for the Circle line and you have Kensington High Street one stop further too.

    Great staff and travel friendly”

Pros: secured luggage storage, friendly staff, harty breakfast Cons: overbooked, can hear through walls, no hair dryer in room, no safe in room, no complementary toiletries They overbooked the hotel despite us having a reservation. To their credit they put us up in a upper class hotel near by until they had a room for us and they covered the cost. The manager tried to get a taxi for us but it was taking too long for the taxi to arrive so he used his own car to drive us to the other hotel. The next day they sent a Mercedes taxi to pick us up and bring us back to their hotel since a room was available for us. We were quiet impressed by how they handled the situation. The location is fantastic! Close to the trains, a club nearby, and good views out the windows. The breakfast was harty with lots of variety. It was definitely better than a continental breakfast in North America. I would stay there again and recommend it!
