Great value, clean and simple”
I was quite happy with this place during a long stay where due to a moderately severe illness I spent 2 or 3 days pretty much just in bed. Spartan, but clean and efficient, pretty much if you've stayed in an ibis elsewhere you know exactly what to expect. They have potable tap water, which was a huge plus to me, although that water had a bit of soapy soft-water taste and came out luke-warm from what I assume was just a tank on the roof. Good location, a bit complicated to get to the city center by bus, but the immediate area was pretty nice if not super pedestrian friendly. Lots of good restaurants and convenient shopping (Walmart 2 blocks away, I may not like it but it gets the job done and is quite different in Mexico.) Paseo Montejo is a beautiful promenade where all the henequen millionaires built their mansions around the turn of the 20th century and will make you more willing to just suck it up and walk the two miles to the zocalo. Getting to and from the main ADO station by taxi was cheap and painless and there's a branch office where you can buy tickets a couple blocks away.
