I had a tough time choosing hotel for our first trip 4D3N to Vientiane. I booked Ibis Vientiane Nam Phu Hotel after reading the reviews and we enjoyed our stay there, 14 of us including 4 children. If you are still contemplating on hotel booking, you've found one here unless you prefer a 5-star hotel. We were very comfortable with the hotel 1) Excellent location, nearby the night market, China town, restaurants, bars, convenient stores, bakeries and ice-cream house too! 2) Rooms are spacious and clean 3) English staff are friendly and helpful 4) Free Wifi is important to us *important: must bring mosquito repellent with you as you’ll need it at night I found Mr. Mana, extraordinary superman tour guide who manage to coordinate our hotel transfer and city tour 2 days before our arrival. Most importantly he's reliable, responsible and able to deliver as promised with an affordable price. Mr Mana Phuangbounme , Mobile : +8562055406522, E-mail : Laostourguide@yahoo.com Itinerary Day1 • Pick up from airport • Drop luggage at Ibis • City Tour & Lunch (Visit Wat Si Saket, Ho Phra Keo, Vatphakeo, Patuxay, Phrathad Luang Stupa) • Night Market near Mekong River Day2 • Breakfast at Scandinavian Bakery, 3min from Ibis • Buddha Park (we had local food on the way the venue) • Friendship Bridge • Ban Nong Bouathong (passed by the weaving village) • Wat Si Muang • Morning Market (we missed this because we spent too much time at the food stalls and Buddha Park) • Dinner at China Town Day3 • Breakfast at nearby stall • Local Wet Market (we bought grilled salted fish, chicken & duck, roasted pork, raw vegetables and dessert for the boat ride at Num Ngumm River) • Ban Keun Salt Mine • Num Ngunm River Bam Thangon • Night Market (final shopping) Day4 • Van transfer to airport
Clean, modern hotel in a great location in Vientia”
My friends and I stayed in the Ibis (Ibis Vientiane Nam Phu Hotel). This hotel is in a great location, about a 5 minute walk from the night market, next to restaurants, shops, and massage places. The hotel staff was nice and helped us book a private day tour to visit the sites, although it seems that there is a set list of attractions at a set price in the city to book this at any hotel. Breakfast is not included, but there is a cute cafe across the street. The rooms are small and clean. Overall, this hotel was nice, modern, and the location makes it a great option.
Hotel of International Standards”
My friends and I stayed at your Ibis Vientiane Nam Phu for 2 nights in October 2017. We were finally relieved to stay in a hotel with international standards, after experiencing with 2 other local hotels both in Vientiane and Vang Vieng. Your hotel facilities were excellent, including front counter staff who not only was very helpful and friendly but also went the extra mile to meet my unusual request. We left with feel-good impressions of Ibis and would not hesitate to recommend to friends heading to Vientiane. Thank you very much for providing excellent services. Stephanie and friends
nice comfortable stay at Ibis”
I had a very nice stay at Ibis. Great location near the night market, half a block to Joma Café, Chop Dieu and many other restaurants and cafes. The staff was excellent and very attentive and ready to help and spoke very good English. A well-dressed motherly looking woman seemed to be taking care of the staff and guests in the lobby. Probably the manager – she was even chasing mosquitos in the evening with one of those tennis racquet zappers :-) The room was small, but very comfortable, new and modern. Super comfy bed/duvet, similar to what you would expect in one of the big luxury chain hotels. Excellent A/C. The room was very quiet. I was at the end of the hall, facing the main st, and it was still quiet. In my previous trip I stayed at another hotel (nice). But by comparison, Ibis was just far better in every way for about the same price. I would recommend Ibis to anyone going to visit Vientiane. If this is indicative to Ibis anywhere, I will be looking to stay at Ibis in other cities/countries as well.
Very handy with usual IBIS standard of quality”
Our stay was very good. This is a new IBIS hotel and staff are young, keen and helpful, with good command of English. Room was standard Ibis layout, which works, and perfectly comfortable. Hotel is close to the Nam Phu Fountain, the centre of town. There is a large selection of restaurants and coffee houses close by. The sights of Vientiane are few, but almost all can be reached on foot from this hotel.
Always a pleasure to stay at Ibis Vientiane when I'm in the city”
Can't remember if I've stayed here three or four times, but it's definitely been multiple times, and will do so again in the future. It's always a pleasant experience, though families or couples may find the rooms a bit small. I'd label the Ibis as a businessman-friendly hotel with its no-frills offerings. What the place lacks in terms of facilities, it does make up with location: It's along the popular Nam Phu road. Be warn, though: this prime location also means very loud music late at nights right next door to you, so if this is something you can't stomach, the Ibis isn't for you. 10/10 for the excellent and fluent English speaking front staff. Breakfast, when I've tried it in the past, was satisfactory, but I prefer to eat out with the locals. Housekeeping was daily. Aside from the lack of facilities (a gym would have been nice), the Ibis is 9/10.
Very comfortable and clean, excellent location”
We stayed for four nights in this very nice hotel. The rooms are not big but they're big enough. There's a very small fridge in the room. Air conditioning kept the room at a nice temperature even when the outside temperature was near 40 degrees Celsius. The staff was very polite and friendly. The breakfast cost 10 USD per person. It was good but maybe a little overpriced. Most sights in Vientiane are at walking distance from the hotel but it was too hot to walk all the time so we got a tuktuk to take us to the Cope centre and other places a bit further away. But as already mentioned, we liked best the cleanliness of the hotel. There are very nice hotels near the hotel. Everything we ate in Vientiane was truly delicious. Next to the Fountain, a few steps from the hotel, is the walk in office for Green Discovery (if I remember it right) tours. We booked one and enjoyed the boat and trekking tour to the nearby national park. The hotel arranged us a taxi to the Friendship bridge to go back to Udon Thani airport. It cost 500 baht. We asked the taxi driver if he could take us all the way to the airport in Udon Thani. Yes, for 3000 baht. Instead, we switched taxis at the Lao side of the border and paid 800 baht from the border to the airport. Plus the 20 baht exit and 20 baht entry charges per person. A delightful stay in Vientiane!
Ideal for hotel in Vientiane with young children”
We are a family of three with a 11 month old baby and glad we chose the Ibis for our stay. It is clean and the room comfortable. The hotel is centrally located so easy to get where we needed and explore. The air-con didn't work in our first room so we were immediately changed to another room that was actually slightly bigger. For SE Asia Vientiane is quite an expensive place so given this factor the Ibis represents pretty good value for money. As it is safe, clean and comfortable. Overall I'd give the Ibis 8 out of 10... I didn't give a higher mark as it functions well as a hotel but doesn't feel that welcoming. The staff are trained to do everything well with and help customers but it feels like it is all being done by the book without a personal touch or any personality. That being said we would stay there again for sure if we find ourselves in Vientiane.
Very clean and well located”
We chose the Ibis Vientiane because of the convenient location in the city center and because we have a flight to catch the following morning. Next to the Nam Phu fountain (got all the restaurants and bars, nice nightlife). Free internet access at the lobby (there are 2 computers available for you) and free Wi-Fi. The only drawback is the lobby is full of mosquitoes.
Excellent Value, internet, staff are amazing”
I stayed here for an extended period of time. I have visited Vientiane many times and always have issues with internet at my various accomodations. The Ibis Vientiane had phenomenal internet that never once had an issue connecting nor functioning properly. The speed was great and far better than anywhere else I have experienced in the city. The staff are amazing, have excellent communication skills and are very friendly. Excellent value for the money and will definitely be staying here in the future.
New hotel in City center”
The hotel has excellent location in the center of Vientiane just few meter from Nam Phu, the fountain. It is a short walk to the riverside and to the main restaurants and bars in the center. There is some noise in the rooms on the street side, but the second floor room was not too bad in this sense. The hotel is new and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is fine. The staff is very polite and helpful.
awesome hotel in the smack of town”
the hotel keeps with the standards of all ibis hotels i have stayed in. Clean compact rooms with good facilities. Ibis Nam Phu is right smack in the middle of town making access to most sights very convenient. One suggestion is to take the higher floors as the noise from the traffic might be an issue at night.
The most value for money hotel in Vientiane”
I was in Vientiane more than 5 times but this hotel is the best for me. Hotel locate on the strategic area for tourists, many attraction places aroud there such as Joma coffee, Hor Pra Keaw, Wat sisaket and Khong river etc. Hotel room is very comfortable more than another IBIS hotel. Next time in Vientiane I will back to this hotel again.
Nice city center hotel”
Very new clean hotel in the city centre by Nam Phu. Very clean rooms with good facilities. The internet seemed to work well and there were no problems with the access. The breakfast was very good with lots of different choices - tasteful. The only problem was that through Agoda you cannot include the breakfast in the room price - you have to pay it separately. There should be an option for selecting the 'with breakfast'.
Great hotel centrally located”
Had a great stay at the Ibis. Checkin process was done swiftly and efficiently and overall I found the staff very friendly. I was very happy with the size of the room as I have just come from Vietnam where the rooms are typically very small. Compared to the hotels in Vietnam this room was quite spacious :) Breakfast every day was good with enough choice to please most people. I think this will be my future hotel of choice when I have to visit Vientiane
Everything is PERFECT!”
I arrived from a very tiring 12-hour train ride from Bangkok to Vientiane. The staff welcomed me in the most accommodating way possible. This was my first time with IBIS and I am very satisfied with the service and rooms! The staff are very nice and very helpful!! I will make sure to book my next accommodation with IBIS :)
Excellent hotel to stay for vacation or business”
It was a good memory of having stayed at the Ibis Vientiane Hotel. I felt great during the stat and wish to recommend friends to choose this hotel for their trips to Vientiane.
Excellent location and brand new ”
I'm travelling for business to Laos a few times a year. This was the first time I stayed in the IBIS. I like the area around the Nam Phu but the IBIS only just opened. Though the rooms are small, which is normal for IBIS, it was very clean and the staff was young, motivated and very helpful. I will definitely stay there again during one of my next trips.
Close to many restaurants and nightlife. Hotel staff amazingly friendly and efficient.”
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Good location next to Nam Phu fountain. Made my stay in Vientiane very memorable.
The stay was great! I was there to watch my sons football games. The staff helped get cabs, good rates for cabs. Their breakfast was good. Food in general was superb. I have stayed in Ibi twice already, if ever I return to Vientiane I will stay there again.
