Wonderful place!”
Ibrik Resort by the River is a one of a kind experience. It is very intimate and private in the old part of Bangkok. It's location along the Chao Phraya river is beautiful and the views are amazing! There are only three rooms here and yet there is so much space to move around. There is one person on staff here and he is very accommodating and friendly. He will be happy to make you an espresso drink, as many as you wish on the house. The area is very interesting and there is lots of little shops everywhere, as well as an outstanding riverside restaurant next door. If you come as a couple, this would be a very romantic spot. This was my second stay here and I want to be able to stay here every time I come to Bangkok.

Sweet, friendly place in charming neighborhood”
This was a great place to stay as a solo traveler. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the room felt like an oasis in the city. I loved the deck right off the room where I could watch the river traffic go by. It's also very close to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and Wat Arun, just a few minutes by river boat which is a delightful way to travel. My favorite thing about Ibrik was the neighborhood, which is quiet and non-touristy. The temple at the end of the street is gorgeous, and frequented by neighbors and monks and friendly kids, not tourists. I enjoyed joining in the morning and evening services there. There is also a local market one block away with food and cheap, gorgeous clothes. Two restaurants right next door, both with outdoor decks to eat by the river. The closest is beautiful and upscale and relaxing, with mediocre food (I thought, after one meal); the second is dressed-down, family-owned, and the owners are friendly and take good care of you if you have a cold! I also enjoyed the breakfast on the deck. You decide the night before what you want (Western breakfast items) and what time. Halfway through breakfast they brought a bonus course of fresh mango. Really nice way to start the day. Also: the bed was supportive and comfortable, and the air conditioning welcome in the 98-degree heat. And there's a mini bar (non-alcoholic) in the room for convenient snacking. One thing to note: at night there are a lot of party cruise boats that go by, so if you go to bed early you'll hear music intermittently. I found this charming, but if you want a quieter room there's one that doesn't face the river (you can still hang out on the deck).

Three Nights at the Ibrik”
The staff - Ben, Song and Pao - could not have been more welcoming, attentive and charming. The location was idyllic with the guest patio overlooking the River and city; the Wat Rakang a few hundred feet away; an incredible local market, with very few Westeners, even closer; Wat Arun a twenty minute walk away and two River piers five minutes in either direction for catching ferries and water taxis, making it less than fifteen minutes (via ferry and walking) from the hotel to the entrance of the Grand Palace compound. The rooms were small but well arranged and very comfortable. No restaurant, pool or gift shop which added to the character of the hotel and was a plus in my book. The Ibrik would be my first choice for accommodations if I find myself in Bangkok again.

The cutest hotel in Bangkok ”
We stayed at ibrik for two nights and it was brilliant. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We stayed in the moonlight room which has a gorgeous balcony overlooking the courtyard and an outdoor shower. The hotel is located in the Thai part of Bangkok and as a result is not overrun with tourists. You can get to the river ferry in 5 minutes walking through a nice market. It is hard to find but the hotel give you directions in Thai to give to can drivers etc and will arrange to pick you up. It is perfectly placed for trips to the grand palace. We would recommend going to the night market on Sunday. Get the sky train to udon suk then get a cab. It is full of vintage items as well as your usual market fare. The restaurant next to the hotel is nice but a bit overpriced.

Highly recommended!”
This is a small hotel with only 3 rooms, which means you get a lot of specialized attention from the staff. Breakfast is made as you request and will be delivered either to your room or to the cafe, which is a small deck overlooking the river (just outside the Sunshine room, if that is your room choice). Ibrik is an older hotel but very well-maintained and attractive. It has a feel of staying in an old Victorian home with its four-poster bed and double doors opening onto a deck overlooking the river. That location right on the Chao Phraya River can't be beat! It is a little loud because the river is heavily trafficked so, if you prefer more quiet, the Moonlight room is a better choice for you. I wanted a river view and chose the Sunshine. I loved watching the sun come up over the river each morning and seeing the Grand Palace and Wat Pho lit up every evening. Beautiful!

Defines the meaning of 'Guest House'”
The genuine hospitality and attention to detail of the staff here, are second-to-none. As there are only 3 rooms, the hotel is peaceful after the noise of the city, and the river views from the windows and balconies are stunning. The decor is relaxing and comfortable, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. This hotel is located quite a way from the city centre, and the best way to and fro, is by ferry then by river boat, the last one of which, leaves Taksin Sathorn at 7pm, so if you intend to be in Town 'til late, you will have to catch a taxi. Remember to take the driver's instructions in Thai, with you, as the hotel is out of the way, and quite hard for them to find. Having said that, the buzzing Thai locale, where the Tourist is blissfully rare, is a fascinating market area: a real glimpse of the genuine Bangkok. For me, it made a welcome change from the frenetic pace, noise and commercialism of the city. On arrival, I was instantly made at home: my questions solicitously answered, and personal help and advice, were willingly given. In fact, I needed some special help with an important mail delivery, and the staff went way beyond the call of duty to advise and assist me. Moreover, they were happy to do so! Song and Ben were both superb, and the very best of hosts. Their genuine warmth, personal attention and standard of service, were perfect, which - as a single traveller - I especially appreciated.

Wonderful Quirky Hotel”
We had a wonderful stay in the Ibrik Resort. Even though there was heavy rain, our River room was entertainment enough itself. The two boys were very helpful and friendly and whenever we got a break in the weather we were able to get out and see the local sites thanks to their good advice and directions.

Tranquility within a bustling city”
Such a hidden gem! Unfortunately we were only in Bangkok for a visa run, so stayed just one night. However, this place would be a perfect base in which to explore the city from. Tucked away on a side street, it is directly on the river itself. Taxi boats are easy to catch nearby to cross over the river. Lots of food choices and generally a lovely peaceful spot. We actually spent more time at the guesthouse than intender, choosing to stay in and relax rather than sightsee (which should tell you how much we enjoyed the environment). Staff we're lovely, too, making us feel completely welcome. Recommended.

We had a really wonderful stay at the Ibrik. The location was perfect with easy access to two ferry stops and it was fantastic being able to start and finish the day overlooking the river. We will certainly be recommending this to friends.

Fantastic”
It was a really fantastic experience living in this hotel. The receptionist was of great help when I wanted to explore the city, giving me directions and making calls for me in Thai language. They even gave a map for free, very helpful! Another thing I like this hotel is its wooden bathtub (though it was really such a regret that it can't be filled full due to an opening made in the lower sections on the tub), and the porch was a perfect place to have a drink or two in the dawn or dusk, watching sun rise or sunset. Late at night, you can sit out on the porch sipping away at a bottle of drink, listening to the music and contemplating against the splashing sound of the waves, with moonlights shed on the surface of the river like a thin layer of gossamer. The moon seemed so near, as if it were just hanging over the horizon! And its breakfast was great as well! Though it was located in the old town area, it was nevertheless situated at a very advantageous place, with the Grand Palace just across the river, and the boat express about 5min walk from the hotel. On the road to the boat express, you actually walk through a local market, kind of like a bazaar, where a whole bunch of bric-a-bracs are available for you to choose (remember to bargain though!). All in all, I really enjoyed it, and I'd definitely recommend it to other people visiting there, especially couples.

Absolutely fell in love with this place. The most friendly staff. 2 Minutes walk to local market and water taxis (around 3,5 baht one way) to cross river. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Bangkok.

Unique stay in Bangkok”
This place will give you a unique experience as it is situated right on the Chao Phraya River. We stayed there on NYE on purpose so that we could see the fireworks at Wat Arun and the city from the terrace. It was worth it even just for the location. The Sunshine room is really nice and comfortable. Breakfast served on the terrace was good. As a Bangkokian who knows Bangkok quite well, I recommend this place if you want a different kind of experience that you won't be able to get at hotels.

private stay”
it is situated along the river and inside wang lang market. we stayed in sunshine room which is just on the river bed. because they have only three rooms, we felt so private. the staffs are nice. the in-room breakfast made us feel so special. the only bad thing is the noise from the boat tour along the river but some may find it charming and lively

Resort views at b&b cost !”
I loved it. The positives are the location , the views and the friendliness of the staff! The river was a little noisy for a couple of hours at night with the dinner cruises but it was all over by 11:00pm. The bathroom was great and the beds super comfortable! I could have spent days trying out the local food. Tip the restaurant next door has evening shows on Saturday night! Well worth it!

Bangkok Trip”
Our stay was fantastic! It's a little challenging to get downtown at night but it's worth it for the beautiful river views of the grand palace. Song was so incredibly helpful and the entire hotel was spotless. My only criticism is that It would be nice to have one large bureau to unpack clothes a little better.

Great small hotel on , only three rooms, in a quiet Thai neighborhood. Good local market just down the road and a small verandah - looking out on the river- that was perfect for a drink at night.
