Ibusuki Kaijyo Hotel
The japanease traditional room was a wide enough called Tatami with beautiful sea side view and the sound of the waves. All of Foods(breakfirst & dinner) were fantastic.Additionally the manager was showed excellent kindness that it was a pleasure to see him.I & my wife want to see him again in a shirt period of time.
A hotel with stunning view on sea side”
The town is famous for sand onsen and of course Ibusuki Kaijyo provides onsen(hot spring) and sand onsen(sand onsen limited time between from 16:00-20:00). They provided a Japnaese style room on sea side and the view was exceptional. It was a late arrival short stay, but it was absoutely worth the money. The facility is a bit old, but it is a great place to relax and enjoy hot spring.
Japanese Style Hotel”
The hotel rooms are relatively big and has amazing sunset view. Staffs are nice and helpful. I would recommend the sand bath at Saraku which is about 3 min walk from the hotel. The only downside of this hotel is that it is an old hotel and there is no western style room option. Only Japanese dadami rooms are available. My room had fishy smell to it which I wasnt sure where it came from.
End of the line spa, needs an upgrade to be worth the cost”
Swimming pool: (permanently) closed jacuzzi : not working Sand bath: pay extra (same price as in town) Stained walls and sinks... Just not worth the money.
Missed the flight, did not check in to this hotel.
So far so good!”
My first impression was Yes, I agreed with the previous Traveler's comments, it is very Old, however, me and my parents are like it, cause enjoying the sea breeze in the room was priceless! Their staff are all very nice! ... But I feel the communications on email just not satisfy! Because before the check-in date about 2 months ago I had sent an email to the hotel asking about the Tamatebako (指宿のたまて箱), but no reply! And I sent an email once again, I don't know why it just NO reply at all!! And I asked the front-desk why after we checked-in, the reply was mumbo-jumbo!! I felt really not happy with that! After all, I feel I would recommend to the friends who enjoy suburb life, simple, nature.
Very old hotel, friendly staff”
The hotel is very old, the room we slept on was fine but the toilet is really old. However, the room was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly to help. The hotel provides sand bath from 16:00-20:00 at 1080yen. There is also a hot spring room. It takes a 20-min walk from the JR station. Everything was fine except it was a bit too old.
It's a good hotel to stay for one night, it a old traditional hotel with excellent sea view, you can stay in the room to wait for sun raise.”
It's a little bit far away from the JR station, but you can walk for 5 mins to the bus station, and it's close to the famous sand hotspring shop.Actually, they also provide sand hotspring, and the price is close to the famous sand hostpring shop
great service from professional staff”
i cant ask for more with the price i paid for. all staff are welcoming, thoughtful, helpful and approachable. the staff's level of English is not high but good enough for communication. Like most Japanese, they tried their very best to make my stay feel like home. The manager passed me a coupon for visiting the flower garden and saved me 90 yen. He gave me and my husband two little gifts after knowing that this is our anniversary trip. i was touched and overjoyed. although the building and facilities are sort of aged but they are well maintained and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to visit Ibusuki.
Mixed feelings at a used-to-be luxury hotel”
Pros: 1. As some suggest, here used to be a 3-star or 4-star hotel. Thus, the hotel is enormous at its size, the guestrooms and the onsen. There are also additional facilities like shop, bar, and most importantly its own sand bath so you don't need to use the public one nearby. 2. The sea view from guestroom is ultimate. You can view the sunrise from horizontal line directly from the room. Cons: 1. The hotel obviously has some age. Majority of public area still needs some major updates. Particularly, the old-style round dull lamps of corridors need to be replaced with modern ones. 2. I have a room thats almost at the end of corridor, and its adjacent to the second elevator. I once travel with that and it seems I entered a closed area with completely no lights. The hotel should make signs if there's a closed area inside. 3. Location is very remote. 30-minute walk required from station. The hotel should provide shuttle (I checked the website and cannot find any info about that)
good public bath, sea view room but a little bit noisy.
The location is quite good, but the bathroom and hot springs area are a bit not clear.
The sunrise was perfect breakfast was delicious Hot spring was great!
good quality and service
With outdated building structures and less customers, hotel is waiting for change
Good for big family or a group”
Toiletries complete. 5 minutes walking distance from black sand spa.
View of the sea from room was beautiful Sand bath was good and relaxing In hotel restaurant was also good but will need google translate app to communicate with the waitress 😊
Fantastic SeaView ”
Excellent services provided by the staff especially by the sand bath and front desk gentlemen.
Good view with very good service”
It would be better if renovation is done
