+ Beautiful ryokan with nice facilities 1) Large and spacious room 2) Heated leg space under the table, with welcome snack (onsen manju = red bean bun) 3) Yukata (clothes) and geta (clogs) that you can wear 4) Free key that allows access to the 9 public onsens that are very close by, and you can finish all of them within 2 - 2.5 hours (if you only soak for e.g. 5 - 10 min per place) 5) Comfortable futon (bed) to sleep on 6) Heater can be on if you need it 7) Good that there's elevator 8) They have a private onsen room which you can try by letting them know at the reception counter that you'd like the key to the room 9) They also have a public onsen room that you can freely access, and this is also the place you bathe (note there's no shower facility in your room - there's only toilet cubicle) + Walking distance from the bus stop + Pretty good service 1) A male staff helped to clean the dirt from my luggage wheels before bringing my luggage up to my room 2) Helpful explanations of room facilities and various courses / dishes of dinner and breakfast 3) Free car shuttle to Snow Monkey Park (Jigokudani Yaen-Koen) that is up in the mountains, and I got to see nice views along the way while walking 10 - 15 min from the drop-off point to the park entrance 4) After sending me off, the female staff also helped to deposit my luggage at the Yamanouchi Information Center opposite the Yudanaka Station, where I'm setting off (A) I just had to pay JPY 600 at the ryokan for luggage storage (B) Take a picture of my luggage and tag (C) Show the picture to the staff at the Yamanouchi Information Center to collect my luggage Note: 1) Nagaden bus ticket (JPY 250) to Shibu Wago Bridge (Shibu Wagobashi), which is where the ryokan is located, needs to be bought at the ticket counter at Yudanaka Station - Suica card is not accepted 2) You will need to pay onsen tax (JPY 150) for the entire neighbourhood when you check out of the ryokan
