“One of my favorite hotels I've ever stayed at.”
During my 7-day trip to Hong Kong, I chose to stay on Kowloon Island for 4 nights and 2 nights on Hong Kong Island. I regret not staying at Iclub Sheung Wan for the entire trip. 1. Accommodation: The transition from a simple private room in Yau Ma Tei to a spacious, clean, and well-equipped room at Iclub was the best part. I was also upgraded from iselect to ibusiness. Thank you to the lovely receptionist. The amenities were fully provided with towels changed daily, a safe, slippers... However, the issue with the power sockets needs improvement. I was in room 701 and could not charge my device with the hidden socket array under the desk. I had to use a chair so that my phone could charge at the socket right behind the door, which was a bit inconvenient, and actually that socket was quite loose; it took a while for the power to connect. 2. Cleanliness: My room was completely clean. The common areas were also clean. Although there was one evening when coffee spilled from the machine without anyone cleaning it up, they did leave a cloth to soak up the coffee so guests could avoid it. 3. Staff: Many opinions say that the staff are cold. Of the 4 people I saw at the front desk, I only interacted with 2. One girl with long hair who checked me out appeared to have a rather impassive expression; however, it was not an issue for me. The other receptionist, who is the oldest, was wonderful. I encountered him 3 times when checking in, asking about laundry service, and when retrieving my stored luggage. He had a very pleasant, polite, gentle demeanor, and provided thorough and careful guidance, speaking English slowly and clearly. I think he deserves to be employee of the year!! 4. Service: The free coffee and ice are what I appreciate most, especially since there aren't many affordable café options to sit in Hong Kong. I am a coffeeholic, so I loved being able to sip coffee every morning, noon, and even at night! The spacious Iclub lobby with a street and garden view is the perfect place to enjoy a cappuccino or latte (along with the simple breakfast they serve). At the same time, I could reheat food in the microwave and get ice to drink with lemon VLT! It truly feels like a café! Indeed, the hotel has many Korean guests, which is a small reassurance. Clean, modern, close to the metro station, right in Sheung Wan, the chillest area of the island... If I get a chance to return to Hong Kong, I will stay at Iclub because of the hotel’s outstanding values. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels in Asia, and this is truly one of my favorites.
