best budget hostel”
good value and location”
For a short stay at the nice Asakusa area, Wasou turned out to be a good value-for-money option. tiny rooms, but we're out all the time so we just needed a place to wash and crash.
Good first capsule experience”
Booked this hostel last minute, didn’t even know it was a capsule style hostel when I booked it. Upon checking in I was Glad that it’s a capsule hostel becoz I’ve always wanted to stay in one. Was only staying there for 1 night, however the overall experience is good. The bath area is an open one, there isn’t any enclosed cubicle for guests to shower individually. The capsule is clean and well equipped, you get a TV, an electrical plug point, a mirror, towels, sleep wear and slippers. Becoz of the mirror and sufficient lighting In the capsule, one can easily apply makeup in the capsule instead of going to the common washroom area in he morning. Every guests is assigned a locker (very small) which is great to store your valuable belongings, luggages are just being left out in the common area outside of the capsule, as such I suggest each guests to lock their luggages when they leave to go sightsee each morning. Guests are allowed to leave their luggages at the reception after checking out until 2pm, an additional 100 Yen will be charged per hour after that. The location of the hostel isn’t the best, one needs to walk at least 15 minutes to the nearest train/subway station. For those who come in big luggages from Narita, I would advise travel by toei Asakusa line to Asakusa Station, look for exit A2b becoz this is the only exit with elevator. Keep in mind it’s a 15-25 minutes walk from the exit to the hostel, depending on how fast you walk/how big is your luggages.
nice place near senso-ji, the facilities are good, friendly staff. but I'd prefer ordinary room than capsule
The location is amazing, although u need about 10-15mins walk from Asakusa subway. However, the night life around is amazing because i wouldn't never have found those places if i weren't staying there. The space is REALLY small but for 1 person is sufficient. The floor below the mattress is slightly dirty so you have to wear slippers. The staffs are really friendly, they even helped me to call up the shop to address the problem. ( bought a souvenir but it was broken so they helped me to call for refund) So overall this place is decent. If you aren't gonna spend a lot of time in the hotel, this place is perfect for you. They have public bath but only for the females.
It is our first experience sleeping in a tatami room. The room size is decent and the furnishing is rather new. It has its own bathroom. The location is walkable distance to Asakusa Station, and its very near Sensoji Temple. The public bath is for women only. The hot tube can only fit two person comfortably, there are 4 showers and a sauna. I find the sleeping on a futon hard for me as I'm a side sleeper. But it is a good experience. Overall, I had a good stay.
This is my first time for Tokyo and I feel lucky that I chose this hotel. Everything's perfect for me. Room is big enough for one person. Not far from Asakusa, which I prefer this area the most. 10-15 mins walking from subway, during the season I visited it's very comfortable to walk and I love that!.
Great Location & Experience”
It was easy to find, pass the temple and about 15mins from Asakusa station. Definetily one of the older capsule hotels around because it was so authentic. Onsen bath means you bathe with other women (women only hotel), naked, which felt totally normal once I looked up etiquette tips. My only problem was the heater-it was about 5 degrees too hot. I didn't need to use my comforter at all. Lounge room was cute and there was drink vending machines on my floor (2nd). Thank you for the awesome experience, I hope to be back soon.
Clean n cheap”
Cheap price for room with attached bathroom. Clean n everything works. Aircon effective. Housekeeping efficient Only con is if you are not used to sleeping on the floor. But it's made clear that it's a tatami room.
Great for solo travel. Room is big enough for a solo travel with a super big bag! But the walk from the Asakusa Station was a little far. Hard to find elevator in the station. Note if you are bring a heavy bag. It’s nearer to the asakusa Tsukuba Express. Will definitely book this place again!
Right Next Door to Sensoji”
This place located so close to Sensoji that it makes travelling very simple. It is also located near Akihabara, which is a very good thing to me! It makes transverse around easily. I enjoyed the staff, which is very kind and supportive. The room is cozy and have enough space for all of us. The hot bath is only for female, so it is quite sad that we were unable to enjoy this small privilege.
Good place in asakusa”
Spend 4 nigths. It was a good central place to visit asakusa, ueno and other places. 1,2 km from metro station asakusa. Hotel and rooms really clean. No breakfast , little négative point, but coffee machine available.
Unexpected onsen-type bathroom”
Would be better if they have a photo of the bathroom in the listing. So as not to mislead the travelers to expect a normal bathroom. Most of us is not used to onsen. Aside from that, everything is great.
Comfortable and good stay”
I stayed at Wasao with my partner in a twin room for two nights. The room was well maintained and clean (including bathroom). Staff were helpful. Room was even cleaned daily. Price and location both great! Only downside is the female public bath on the third floor - it could use some reno. Will definitely stay again!
Is just located right behind the Sensoji Temple. Cross the temple to reached the hotel is more near. There is one convenient shop opposite the hotel. The hotel also allowed to store luggage untill 4pm for FOC. Will come back for this hotel in future.
Overall was a great stay. Was traveling alone therefore the location of hotel is on the major road so is safe even you stay out late. Supermarket is nearby. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Plus point is the staff can speak English.
10-min walk from Asakusa station, old building and facilities but serviceable and clean. Comfortable bed , had a good night's rest. You'll pass thru the Sensoji temple on the way to this place which is a nice treat. Friendly and helpful staff.
Good location and with Helpful staff”
Check in was a breeze. No charge for luggage storage. Room: Our room was clean. We chose this hotel because we brought our baby with us for this trip. We don’t want to have any fall accident so we decided to just get a tatami room. The futon was comfortable. We had a good sleep. Bathroom, although small, has complete amenities. Location: It will take 10-15 mins to get to the train station but it didnt bother us a bit since there are a lot of things to see along the way. Staff: They were very helpful. We had voltage issues with our son’s nebulizer and since they dont have a voltage converter, their male staff made suggestions on where we can purchase one. He even made a follow up and checked if we were able buy one the following day. The only issue we encountered is with the ac. The room that we got didnt have one. No fan also. It has a heater only. We just opened the windows and did not complain about it anymore. The weather was cold anyway.
Capsules are a great experience”
Location is a bit far from the train station but if your destination requires you to take the bus, then it’s just a 3 minute walk to the hotel. Very convenient because there’s a station that goes directly to the airport for less than 1500yen. There are two convenience stores near the hotel, and izakayas that are open until 2am. Very near sensoji temple and the shrine. The location is ideal if you want there is a festival coming up in Asakusa. Facilities were clean and neat, and they offer to change sheets everyday if you ask them to. The hot water in the public bath is very strong, and there were enough toiletries(toothbrush, toothpaste, tissue, shampoo and soap) to cover my stay. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Hotel has own vending machine, ramen and laundry service. They even let me borrow an umbrella on the way out. Capsule room is a great experience, and best for solo travellers. The headroom is okay for me (165cm female) and i don’t bump my head. If you forget your things inside the capsule, they will leave it in there. Cons: There are not enough outlets to charge my stuff(which is a phone and a powerbank) they only have one. Not for claustrophobic people. The room is a bit hot when you have just come inside but is cold when you have slept for a while. Check in is a bit late but can store your items for you if you come early. Also has a locker for most of your small stuff. If you have big luggage, I would suggest getting the solo room instead as you can only put 1 luggage for your clothes near you. You can request not to put you in top bunk, because it isn’t very convenient to stay on the top bunk because you have to go up every time you forget something inside. The one i stayed in had the ladder creak every time I went up to my room, and another time i might have fallen from it because of clumsiness. If you don’t like walking, then don’t get this because it’s a bit far from the station. Stations also close early in the lines near here so
