short stay in a empty hotel with poor service”

we used the chinese restaurant twice , had breakfast and twice we stayed in the lobby bar. the food was ok, but not special, the beverage list was excellent, but from the 10 beers there where only 2 in stock and even limited, after 6 cans we needed to switch brand. The same was with the winelist, excellent even cheap wines, but not in stock. The breakfast was ok, but bad coffee and bread, orange juice tasted like water. location was great as it was opposite the factory we had an appointment, no entertainment and nothing to do in the hotel the Metropark lounge was closed all the time and the lobby bar closed 23.00 hrs

Close to Chongqing Airport”

Grand Metro park staff is amazing! The moment we arrived they helped with our children and bags. Checking in and out was fast. This is a great place for foreigners to stay while laying over for the Chongqing Airport. The food is amazing as well.

Beautiful Hotel”

Nicer hotel than the Hilton. Beautiful room with large bathroom. Five restaurants for a diverse choice of local or international cuisine. Friendly and helpful staff mostly English speaking.

Enjoyable stay”

I stayed in this hotel for one night before my flight back to Europe. Didn't have a chance to see the city, but the hotel was very nice. It was very quiet and calm. The interior is stylish and a big bonus for spacious rooms, high ceilings, large windows and comfy beds. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good, they had both continental and Chinese breakfast. A small minus for the lack of WIFI connection in the rooms. Overall very good! Great choice for e.g. conferences.

Location The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere which has the benefits of being quiet but there is nothing close by like shops and so you are confined to the hotel. Room The room is quite large with adequate comfort amentities such as fkat screen TV, a desk area and two lounge chairs. The lighting is ok and has dimmer options on the lamps. The room is big and tall but lacks any character or ambience. The bed is ok but not the softest. The TV has a good selection of channels especially for westerners (HBO, National Geographic, Star Movies etc..). The internet is confined to the desk with a long cable. The only issue with the room , it was cold at night, turning air con off but couldn't see how to turn heating on. The bathroom offered both shower and bath and worked well with a decent supply of amenities. The room was generally quite clean. Facilities The hotel has three restaurants a pool and gym. However did not see gym or pool and only saw the restaurant for breakfast. There is also no spa so no massages available after long flight. Was forced to order room service as arrived at restaurant at 9pm to be told it was now closed. Told only room service options. Steak sandwich ordered & arrived cold and bloody. Had to send it back and it came warm but still bloody (ordered Medium to well), woke up with stomach problems later. Staff Check-in was efficient and fast but staff were not so friendly during process offering very little dialogue. The restaurant/ room service staff were useless (forgot stuff) and also did not speak English. In general staff were not so warm and looked glum, didn't smile much and even front desk staff were a little unwelcoming. Overall the hotel was ok for a very quick stop but I would rather stay either closer to airport or city (at least an area with something going on). The food and staff brought down the place and i would say its more a high 3 star standard comparing to other Chinese hotels.

superb hotel and value, but has none of the 3 l's. 1/do not belive it is 2.75km from arrivals at the airport. it's a significant cab drive, and i expect the cabbie was straight. 2/it is at the airport. that's the middle of nowhere in chongqing. it's a 10 min walk to the train (after a 30min cab wait), followed by a 40min train ride to down town. worth the experience, but not as a necessity of life. 3/it's a convention hotel, unless you're at a convention there, you're probably at the wrong place. unless, of course, you just want a place to stay somewhere near chongqing. what i will say is that it has an excellent (non-specific chinese, shechzwan style, and surprisingly, sushi) and outstanding buffet for dinner, breakfast. top service, lovely facility. world class although both crowd and (so i expect) staff are a bit sparse. i expect this hotel is a destination. staff were very thin on english, and how to get a taxi or train anywhere else. people come there to be there.
