It's a great Japanese hotel”
The location is prefect, near the Tokyo train system. Staffs are nice. This hotel provides information about traditional Japanese culture, like how to put on Yukata. And the Japanese style breakfast is delicious, wonderful. I would like to recommend my friend to stay this hotel when they visit Tokyo.
We stayed overnight at this Ryokan right at the heart of Asakusa area of Japan. It was clean and the staff was excellent. They speak English and are very hospitable. I would definitely recommend this place!
I came around 9 PM so maybe he wasn’t too happy about that, but (I think) the owner, an older man, wasn’t very welcoming and just wanted to watch his TV show. For example, he made me come back downstairs to find out the WiFi password and quickly said they couldn’t take my baggage to the airport although it was advertized in the elevator. Asakusa is right near a really historical temple and right near the subway to both airports, but I think it’s a bit far away from everything else. The traditional Japanese breakfast was lovely.
Overall good staying experience...”
The location is great, within 5 minutes walk from the Asakusa station, and near to the senso ji temple. Convenient to shops, eatery. The staffs are friendly. The cleanliness of the room is satisfied. Although the single room is small but good enough to fit one person. Overall good staying experience, would definitely come back when visiting tokyo again.
Favorite accommodations in Asakusa”
As soon as you step thru the front door, your blood pressure will drop immediately, not kidding! Peaceful, quiet, Zen experience. My best night's sleep during my 2 week trip. After onsen, I slept like a baby. Morning Japanese breakfast tasty and nourishing. Server was courteous and attentive. But most of all, front desk staff, Nakamura-san and Miyake-san, were so extremely helpful, from providing umbrellas to answering tons of questions regarding trains and where to go for nice coffee shop. I am so looking forward to my next stay there. Thank you to the owners and staff for making my one night stay a most enjoyable and memorable one! Doomo arigatougozaimashita!
Excellent location, staff, and breakfasts”
We had a decent ryokan experience located ideally in the Asakusa living heart. The staff is very friendly and helpful. However, the rooms are really small, similarly to the onsen baths. The futons and pillows are not first class.
Everything is ok if compare with price . Hot bath is good for relaxing. Room is small but the executive room is much bigger which is good choice. Easy to go shopping along the asakusa temple . Easy to go train.
Traditional stay with common hot bath.”
Literally walk out of hotel to Asakusa shrine and shopping area. The hot water common bath is what I looked forward to after a long day out in the cold. Though it is situated next to the Asakusa shrine, the surroundings were surprisingly quiet from 8pm onwards. Traditional settings and hotel was clean and nice. Simply great!
Just lovely ”
Just lovely... If you need to experience the ryokan (Japanese inn) stay, please stay in one of the Japanese designed rooms here. The place is also close to so many things and right in front of the Sensoji temple. Extremely good value for the money if you think of how much time you save travelling back and forth in Tokyo
good hotel near Asakusa Temple”
We all love Asakusa area which is good for shopping, tranditional food and culture. Most important we love to visit Asakusa temple every morning. It is very good to take a walk and visit Senso-ji in the early morning to get the energy and love from Bodhisattva Kannon. Therefore, it is the excellent hotel near Senso-ji.
Great location, nice room, but low cost”
it would be difficult to find a hotel closer to the asakusa temple with it's shopping street. you are right there. the hotel is in one of the little nested roads around the temple. it is a pedestrian zone, but taxis can pull up right in front. don't forget to reserve one if you mind a two minutes walk to the main street, e.g. if you have heavy luggage. a small hotel. family owned, i guess. and you feel that you are staying with friends. although only a single room, it was much larger than other accommodations i had in this area before. and very quiet at night. paper screens and tatami mats make you really feel in japan, although you have all the amenities of a western style hotel. elevator, tv and water heater for your tea or coffee in your room, and yes you have a separate bathroom. the room included breakfast, but i had to leave too early in the morning. restaurants, well asakusa has 3000 restaurants, i was told, many of them really close, even 24 hour ones, including real, japanese sushi places. i didn't want to spend much money on the room for the short stay. now i am happy that i didn't. the hotel just makes you want to come back.
this is a good place to stay. it is close to the subway lines, near the temple, and is clean and comfortable. the rooms are quiet, japanese style, and include a deep bathtub. the only downside was there is no room safe and they leave your room key out on the central counter...so you mostly depend upon japanese honesty from all other guests.
Great way to experience a ryokan - loved the floor mats and the futon beds. Bare in mind this is no where to go if you're looking for luxury. The hotel is a little bit run down. However as our group was looking for an old-school ryokan experience, this did satisfy our objectives. The ryokan is located right next to Sensoji temple and its surrounding markets - very close to train lines, surrounding by numerous restaurants. We wanted to experience a traditional dinner, however this was not a service they provided. Breakfast can be bought, however due to leaving early from our one night stay, we did not have a chance to experience it. Another great thing about the ryokan was the onsen - great little place to sit in at dusk with the night view. The onsen is not big, but if you're looking for a private onsen experience with either a small group, or as an individual, this is pretty satisfactory. All-in-all, would recommend for the ryokan experience.
the old male reception is impolite, but u need to see him every night, because he is the night shift
Very peaceful tatami room. Wonderful public bath on sixth floor ”
Very quiet in a busy tourist area.
Japanese style room”
First experience that japanese ryokan. It’s good
They have the nicest staff.
Perfect location. Very near to asakusa train. Shops everywhere around. one stop to Tokyo Skytree. Very near to halal cafe/restaurants. Would consider staying here again if come back.
Near to attractions and mrt ”
I will definately recommend this place to my friends. It is exactly located at the attraction and very near to mrt too. Easy to find foods and all. The hotel breakfast is awesome. Receptionist lady is very friendly during check in. But the old Uncle during my check out doesn’t seem friendly. Everything is good except the air con not working so well.
Exceptional value and incomparable Japanese hospitality ”
Fantastic location, just steps away from Senso-ji and around the corner from Nakamise-dori,. The rooms, while small, are impeccably maintained and exceedingly comfortable. Soaking in the baths on the top story is the most sublime way to alleviate jet lag, and the Japanese breakfasts are filling and delectable. If you want to experience traditional Japanese hospitality at a price that won't induce a panic attack, this is definitely one of the best options.
