Not worth it st all except the location ”
They can’t provide the iron , if U really push them and asked they will sent u seriously broken iron board ,and management says that’s all they have or u have to go out to iron your cloths , shower never works , sink always blocked , Ritesh from the front desk is very helpful. Hate the hotel but stayed there b coz have business to do in the area . Rooms r very outdated, not clean at all .
Great location ”
We had a very comfortable stay....will definitely come back. Value for money
Worst hotel in the city ”
Hotel rooms r very dirty , no one cares b coz it’s a Government hotel ... Staff don’t care either , chef serve uncooked food and argue ... Hopeless hotel
Very comfortable stay, great location, will definitely recommend my family and friends to stay here because we loved it
Not hot water”
I was in room 448 and in delhi cold the shower and tab water was cold every time I have to leave it open for 10 to 15 minted to get hot water. I have informed howkeeping and the only solution was to keep tab open for 10 to 15 minted.
I was there for a night. The hotel location is superb and the property is literally dirty. Food is horrible. Bathrooms are filthy and dirty in all means. Closets must be at least 25 year old and never bother to maintain, and prone to infect skin, specially not careful while using your attached toilet. Not even 10% value for the money what you are paying and cannot classify even as TWO STAR.
Somewhat aged - could use a revamp. I was more concerned that they did not have completely aligned their system with check in/check out - as such they did not register that some rooms were occupied and walked on customers unexpectedly. Otherwise it is a reasonable option if you are in need of a base in Delhi for a night or two.
Worn out place...”
Lives from its past reputation; staff at reception desk reactive and sloppy. My usual places in Delhi fully booked I chose the Ashok this time given some meetings in nearby places. Arrived towards midnight and had another overseas flight to take the following night. Checkout was confirmed 2pm but wanted after another series of meetings to use gym and showers after checkout time of 2pm. Request was denied, reason: you can only use the hotel's facilities until 2pm, thereafter an additional day will be charged to you... I find this not worthy a so called 5* hotel; never experienced anything similar and such stubborn reception desk staff including managers in all my many travels in India. Is it because the place is government owned and staff not at all with a sense of good service quality or commercial interest? Clearly disappointing, will not stay there anymore.
Comfortable bed, good restaurants, great service ”
Pros: We were visiting Delhi for our visa appointment. This location was 5 minutes from the us consulate and they kept our luggage during our visa interview. This was great! Cons: The travel concierge proposed a very expensive cab ride(2600 inr) we just walked out and got a rickshaw for less than inr 1000 (from hotel to consulate and back and then to the airport) Overall a good stay and I’d recommend to everyone going for a visa appointment to stay with hote Ashoka
Worst hotel in Delhi”
Service in this hotel is the worst I've ever experienced. One, there is almost always no one who picks up the phone at reception. I had to wait for almost half an hour just for the phone call from my room to the reception to be answered. Second, I requested for early breakfast at 6 am. I think I spoke to 7 different people about my request and yet the next morning, the staff at the restaurant said nobody relayed the request to them. Hence, I did not get my early breakfast. Third, I ordered coffee at the restaurant. The coffee never came because the waiter just forgot about my order. Take note that it was not a busy time at the restaurant - in fact, I was the only client in the restaurant at that time! Hotel staff are very rude, unfriendly, ill-mannered and simply untrained. Ashok Hotel simply does not live up to the standards of a 5-star hotel. Take note that this hotel usually hosts a lot of conferences, so it's always busy, noisy and crowded!!!
I changed 4 rooms in one night”
Traffic of customers was huge, but staff efficiency was not as much as to be. Initially they offered me room and it was like junk yard, I complained so they shifted me to another room which was twin bed with small 2 bed so they told me they will shift me to another room once it get vacant as I was alone and bed wide was too small. After few hours I talk to front desk manager and he give me quite good room as I needed, in the night again I got call and She told me, next room has water leakage problem and they need my room to repair so they upgrade me to suite which was also good. This is my experience in this hotel. Hotel is very big, staff were old, infrastructure is also old they are renovating, Hope it will be better soon. As this is government Hotel, Things are not been maintained as it has to be. However staff were polite.
EXCELLENT, ALWAYS PREFER
It is an excellent with lots of greenery around. Excellent Indian cuisine and very well behaved and polite staffs. The hotel's green compound is so huge, one can go for a nice morning walk within the hotel boundary itself.
Excellent Location, Great Food & Courteous Staff”
I was not expecting a great trip when I was told that this is a Govt. managed hotel. however, to my surprise right from Check In to Check out, everything was smooth. I was even given an extended Late Checkout at 4 PM as i was stuck in traffic and front desk obliged me. Breakfast has good choices of all cuisines and is delicious. I would recommend the hotel as one of the finest in Delhi.
Historical Hotel in the city of Delhi”
The Ashok giving the old indian style where we enjoy so much the ambiance. The room is spacious, the breakfast is good with many variety. I will consider to stay again in Ashok if i am in Delhi again.
The Ashok Hotel New Delhi, India”
Our executive room is old and smelly. Even the bathroom looks creepy. Very, very, very slow internet connection too. All the staff are demanding for tips, they will look at you and really ask for tips until you give the money to them. If they are not content with the amount you give, they will ask for more. Worst staff in all the hotels I have been to. Will never go back and will definitely not recommend to friends and families. Not worth every cent.
