We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s an oasis in the middle of busy Seminyak. The staff were friendly and extremely attentive. The Oberoi has an old school Bali feel to it. The gardens are gorgeous. The food is delicious. The pool is a perfect temperature. It was a great relaxing place to spend our last few days after traveling around Bali.

What a beautiful hotel, in every way. Set in lush, spacious gardens directly on the beach, beautiful swimming pool, gorgeous rooms and garden bathroom, this hotel has it all. But what it has over anywhere I've stayed is extraordinary service. I became ill during my stay, and the hotel arranged swiftly for a doctor to attend. Before I knew it, I had a doctor, two nurses, flowers, a get well card, and loads of water. On departure they arranged for the cashier to come to my room, the golf cart to take me to my transfer, and when I left my adapter in the room, they called the car, and a lovely fellow ran it out to my car, even though we had driven a fair way in Seminyak. The staff were so friendly, warm, and welcoming, without exception. The food was amazing, in a beautiful dining room overlooking the garden and ocean. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Seminyak. Superb.

All of the reviews on here talk about service - it will not disappoint. The room was my least favourite part of the hotel - slightly dated and smelt a little musty. Even with this - I think this is the best hotel stay we’ve had a long long time. Maybe ever....

Good staple, few improvements needed”
First of all the staff at this property are exceptional and used my name at every possibility, which is a real differentiation to other resorts I’ve stayed at. The airport rep was challenging with only one person service to all flights meaning a 25 minuet delay and a call to the resort to locate him. The beach towels and towels in the room need some attention in terms of cleanliness. Having only two nights there, the staff were a little over excited in reminding me that I was only there for two nights and the reminders about my upcoming departure was a little insensitive and regular. A few slight changes and this resort retains is high rating as one of the best places to stay

The water in Bali is extremely hard with a high mineral count causing laundered items to appear worn at times. We consistently discard older towels and linens to avoid any worn appearance. Highly recommended, really welcome and helpful staffs, will come back again. Only downside is the semniyak beach smelled bad at low tide (not something any hotel can do.)

On the contrary, we are truly apologetic to learn that you were disturbed by unpleasant odor from Seminyak beach on low tide. The land on the north side of The Oberoi, Bali near KuDeTa was once marsh-land. As with any marshy land and tidal mud flats, a sulphuric odour comes from decaying algae trapped in the mud that gets wet and dry with the ebb and flow. Indeed the marshy land at the mouth of the river does emit a sulphuric odour at times, similar to that of mud flats in tidal areas elsewhere in the world. (The Hamptons, Cape Cod, and Coastal Maine all come to mind). Thank you for your feedback. What an extraordinary pleasure - to be back at the Oberoi after a few years. It's the Garden of Delights - compared to the mass tourism apocalypse outside in Seminyak. You might step out for a drink at sunset in the nearby Ku De Ta; the food and DJing are quite decent as well. But stay inside. Impeccable grounds. Impeccable staff. The best pillows on the planet. A magnificent throwback to a world that is all but vanished.
We were really looking forward to this stay as we had heard great things about the resort. However we werre very dissappointed. For less money u can get a huge pool villa at many different places in seminyak.

After staying at nearly every 5 star resort along the seminyak beach strip (w alila legian samara) I can confidently say that the Oberoi really is on the next level. To start with the grounds are stunning. The gardens are huge and well tended with established trees and scented flowers making for a true piece of paradise. Authentic Balinese feel albeit a luxurious one. The service is impeccable and the breakfast and setting is the best I've experienced anywhere. I could go on but if you like a genuine sophisticated personal 5 star experience then stay here!

I decided to spend my bday weekend in Bali, and I wanted to the hotel to take care of me. I had a really good time at the hotel as I didn't go out at all. I had the pool, the beach, and the hotel to do everything. The staffs were superb in their friendliness and they were always up for a short chat. I liked how they not shy to talk. My room was a bit far but I had the buggy to take me all over the hotel. Why walk when you can ride the buggy on your bday weekend :) I also liked the feeling of private the hotel gave out. All in all, I'm coming back here!
Lovely hotel with fantastic housekeeping staff, they serviced the room brilliantly. However the food is very over priced and the quality and portion doesn’t match the price. We had a Christmas lunch which was very average and well over priced. Overall I’m disappointed .

On both the occasions I have booked The Oberoi with Expedia, I have had very poor quality rooms. I understand that the cheaper the price the lower the room category, but I have paid similar price with the hotel and have received better rooms, with a view. While with Expedia the room as are pretty much the lowest category possible

The hotel location is great, but their food can be better. I tried different dishes and was not happy with any. Their staff never remembered my room number nor my name. Every step of the way, they asked for my room number. They're not very friendly with quite impersonal, far from other hotels.in Bali that I have stayed in.

Overall - 4+ stars. Would have been 5 but for the below: The good: great property offering quiet on a clean beach, good food at restaurant, good spa The bad: We had booked two rooms. Both rooms smelled a little bit of stagnant water. More mosquitoes than I would have liked. Staff seemed a little too pushy behind their overly cheesy smiles - maybe because Bali in general is attracting fewer tourists and they need to have minimum sales. Many empty rooms.

However, we are sorry that you found the two rooms you had had unpleasant aroma. The natural thatched roofs sometimes emit an odor of wet grass after it rains or from morning dew which receives hot afternoon sunshine. I assure you that our rooms do not have any stagnant water in or near them. In regards to mosquitoes, our full time pest control team spray all garden areas twice weekly. Being in tropical country, it is impossible to eliminate them entirely. We also provide mosquito repellent and electric in the rooms, while coils are for the terrace. We regret that you felt our staff seemed a little too pushy and perceived their warm Balinese smiles to be in-genuine. Thankfully, the majority of feedback we receive quite contradictory to your observation. We thank you for staying with us albeit for one night, and we hope to welcome you back.

Fantastic service lovely hotel with a nice quite pool and lush gardens , I would recommend this hotel , it's really lovely and to get away from the hustle of the streets it's perfect . Walking distance to really nice restaurants and good beach to walk along .
