    Good value for the money ”

    Breakfast served from 7am was good but was limited a little in choice which didn’t change from day to day. For example fruit was watermelon, pineapple and pawpaw every day. But eggs to order was offered. Most (not all) spoke a little English. Position was excellent for where we had to go. Staff were pleasant and wanting to please. Room service food was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely stay here again.

    breakfast need to get better”

    The layout is kind of limited, attitude of the restaurant staff in morning is strange, asking for a simple thing repeatedly is just not done!

    Dear Sir, At the outset, I take this opportunity to thank you for putting a review on Agoda.We have noted the contents of your mail, and are truly apologetic that the breakfast was not up to your expectation. However, it is imperative we clarify a few things with you. Ours is a hotel located in South Mumbai where space is at a premium and we have done our level best to utilise the space and manage the space in the most effective way. Ideally, we would like to offer a far wider range of items but on any given day we have more than 40 items for breakfast including eggs to order and a choice of Indian delicacies like dosa, idli, paratha, etc. We do apologize that you were unsatisfied with the service levels, the same has been addressed immediately to the Training Manager and F&B Manager as well as the restaurant manager. We request you to please look at this as a one-off incident and please allow us another opportunity to serve you. Once again please accept my most sincere apologies.

    Nice rooms and great staff”

    staff were really helpful

    I was only in Mumbai for one night and the staff arranged for a driver (Suleman) who took me all over the city that night then came back the next morning to show me many of the other sights. The room was big and the bed comfortable. Compared to the rest of India Mumbai is expensive, but the hotel is nice, staff are great and it's a good location. Easy to get to the airport ( took about 40 mins ). Breakfast was pretty good and they have a bakery/deli.

    Helpful Staff”

    I was having problems getting a SIM card, and they brought someone right to the hotel to set it up for me. That and they made sure that they got the name of the taxi before I road off so that there was follow up if there were any problems. Very thoughtful!

    Shalimar Experience ”

    Had a wonderful time at the Shalimar. Great location, 15 min at most from major landmarks. Staff was accommodating and very nice. Breakfast at Gulmurg was very nice, had sambar and idli for the first time. Laundry was done nicely and efficiently. Loved the evening service. Will definitely be coming back.

    Decent hotel in South Mumbai”

    Location | Service | Food

    Stay was comfortable. Rooms were clean and up to our expectation. Very friendly and cooperative staff. If you like Indian food, try out the Gulmurg restaurant and also the pastry shop. Quick note: please check with the hotel if any renovation work is going on before your bookings as it may ruin your stay at this decent and comfortable hotel. Overall I'd recommend this hotel and would love to come back again.

    Good Location but very congested Hotel”

    Location

    Shalimar is a hotel which is very conviniently located. The rooms are well decorated and furnished though the size is not that spacious. The restaurant"Gulmohar" has excellant layout and delicious food. The breakfast is manageable.

    Location is great”

    Location

    Good location”

    Location

    The service was good, the food reasonable and the room workable although the air was leaking. I would prefer a room with no carpet but the smell was okay. I would recommend this hotel but it was a step down after the Hyatt. This hotel is in a great area with a good bookship nearby, Croswords.

    Excellent Service but WiFi tooo expensive”

    Great Service from all staff, Hot running water, gr8 room, clean, good location.

    i took my parents on holiday for 8 days in mumbai in the month of november and after a lot of research decided to stay at this hotel. even tho we spent most of our time in the mohammed ali rd area of dongri, it was always a nice return to this cleaner and quieter area of mumbai. the hotel is a 5-10 min walk from a garden overlooking the sea cliff and the staff service is excellent, esp the doormen! they were really polite and helpful...altho one of them did tell us that it would take 2.5 hrs to get to ma rd by car and in fact it only took 10 mins! lol. the only downside was the wifi access was abt for 24 hrs, but since this stopped me using the internet on my stay and helped me have a more peaceful holiday im def not complaining :) i unfort got delhi belly 5 days into my trip and didnt want to pay for a doc to come and see me so they managed to even get hold of a cheaper (but fantastic doc) who only charged per visit. i had an amazing stay and although id look for a slightly cheaper place next time, this was definately a gr8 hotel for some1 unfamiliar with mumbai and worried abt standards.

    Small Boutique hotel at excellent location”

    Location

    A good small boutique hotel located in south bombay at a price location-decently priced considering the location and prices in this location-nothing fancy but good on all aspects some toilets need renovation Food is good-also has a small pastry shop,saloon. Staff service and hospitality is good Overall good

    Business trip”

    Furniture and Fittings were excellent quality
    Gym needs to be upgraded

    Check in process was good although security check was a bit of a nuisance..Room quality was good so was the service. The hotel rates are high but only to be expected in heart of Mumbai. The gymn equip was in need of service and the gym room was too small. Breakfast buffet was standard for a 4 star.

    Shocking experience while checking out ”

    We had requested a non smoking room. But when we checked in the room was smelling strongly of smoke. Since it was late in the evening we didn’t bring it up with the hotel management.but the worst was when we were checking out. After settling the bill just as we were leaving the person at the reception said we needed to pay our outstanding bill for two beers. We were shocked because we hadn’t ordered any beers. When we told him that he said it was our minibar bill. We told him that our minibar had been checked and nothing had been consumed. To which he replied that it was a bill for the 16th,which was the second day of our stay. The bill had.Not been signed by us. In fact we were unaware of any such bill. We asked them how the minibar had been checked in our absence. They had no reply. As per my knowledge the minibar is checked on checkout and in the presence of the guest. This was outrageous. Why would I stay here? Leave alone recommend it to others !!!!

    No value for money”

    Location

    First was checked into a smoking room. Wifi was weak, breakfast buffet selection was weak. The property is old and shows, no matter how much they try to hide it. The Aircon vents were dirty and not cleaned in a long time. Had an uncomfortable stay

    Claustrophobic”

    Everything bore the stamp 'value for money' excepting the terrible size of the room which I was allotted. It was obviously a section of a converted verandah. Sorry, it was simply claustrophobic.. The size of the room totally ruined my stay despite very cmrndable efforts by the staff to make life as pleasant as they could. Except for one young lady at reception (who looked like the BJP spokesperson Saina NC) who should never be at any front desk. She looked dyspeptic ALL the time while all her other colleagues were really good in every part of the hotel. Another thing. The IT facility remained dysfunctional throughout my 4-day stay. Wish I could be more complimentary but I really cannot.
