Andrew and his staff are friendly, honest and helpful in assisting our needs from transport to the homestay, local food recommendations, Ijen tour, to transport to next location etc. They advice to beware of scammers and shared the pricing for public transport to the home stay so we can bargain an accurate pricing. Their tour package is excellent value for money and we will recommend it to others as well. Both comfortable and safe.

Friendly host and very comfortable room”
Andrew, the host, was very friendly and helpful and arranged for transport to Ijen as well as back to Surabaya for us. The driver to Ijen was very responsible and friendly and spoke good English, and brought us to a hot spring as well as for a cup of coffee after our hike. The rooms were also very comfortable and well worth the money.

I would highly recommend Ijen Bondowoso Homestay. Prior to my trip i communicated with Andrew via whatsapp. He help to arrange our Ijen Trek, transportation from Surabaya airport to the homestay and from the ferry in bali going to our villa in Seminyak. I only spent a few hours rest in the home stay as we have to leave at 11:30pm for the Ijen trek. The home stay is very clean, quiet , spacious room and comfortable bed. The rate is very cheap . Andrew was very helpful and reliable. Our trip run so smoothly because of his help. The transportation & Ijen tour was reasonably price. Agung was also very nice & cheerful despite the lengthy drive from picking us up at the airport to the homestay, sending us to the car park for the Ijen tour & waited hours for us to come back & sending us to the ferry. Overall it was an awesome trip.!

Very cheap and great host but there are few 'buts'”
Sam is great host and will help you with organizing your trip to Ijen crater but the place itself has some disadvantages: -the rooms at the first floor get super hot, fun doesn't help much -there are like 6 double rooms on the property but only one shower - the place is very close to the mosque's speakers, there's no way to leave the windows open because of the noise
