Up to expectations”

Well-maintained rooms; courteous, helpful and sincere staff; sumptuous dinner buffet

The hotel has lived up to my expectations once again. It's my 5th or 6th stay there since a few years back and Imperial Hotel Taipei has been very consistent in delivering what they promise and what they are capable of. All the staff members, from the bellhops to the front desk staff to the chambermaids, are courteous, helpful and sincere in delievering the highest quality of service. Check-in and check-out were smooth and quick, rooms were well-maintained, and luggage promptly delivered to my room. Worthy of note is that their Club Lounge was under maintenance during the Lunar New Year period and it seems like this is a yearly practice. So for those who intend to book a club room next year during the Spring Festival season, do take note of this. The buffet dinner @ T3 Buffet Restaurant was simply excellent and the food was delectable. Choice was wide and taste was marvellous. Buffet breakfast at the same place was slightly off the mark but nevertheless value-for-money. All in all, I had a great stay there and I look forward to many more wonderful stays at Imperial Hotel Taipei :)

Nice hotel, good service, great location”

Strategic location and friendly staff

I love Imperial Hotel and will definitely stay there when I get to visit Taipei again. It was newly renovated and the surroundings were very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. They always try their best to give us directions for tourist spots even though they had difficulty speaking English. Room was very clean and has a nice balcony. There was also a bus stop direct to Taoyuan airport right next to the hotel. There are also lots of food establishments and convenience stores surrounding the hotel. The zhongshan elementary school mrt station is a 5-10min walk from the hotel.

Hotel with good service”

Good service

the imperial is about ten or fifteen minutes walk from the nearest mrt station; it's not hard to find a taxi in taipei, but that might be an issue if you need to be somewhere early in the morning and don't want to deal with traffic. the hotel's not brand new, but that's not a bad thing; there's a gorgeous stained glass ceiling to the inner atrium, and overall the place has a elegant, gentrified feel to it. i found the staff very helpful, even with trivial matters like stamps for postcards, and the breakfast on the club floor was very good. rooms aren't massive; i've stayed in other hotels in taipei with much bigger rooms, but it's got a comfortable bed. bathroom was ok - again, nothing special compared to other taipei hotels that i stayed at on the same trip, but nothing terrible either. the view from the window was of the roofs of other buildings, but the fact of the matter is that in a built-up city like taipei, you're unlikely to be presented with panoramic vistas of orchards.

Weekend Vacation”

Nice area, Very Comfortable Room, Easy access

(+)We enjoyed staying in Imperial Hotel - we had a good deal for the room price - the room was extremely comfortable. We did not stay much in the hotel but went downtown. It is around 10 min away from the next MRT (by foot). Very lively and nice area - so, we enjoyed walking to and from the hotel. (-) The bed was extremely soft - and for us too soft; which is the only negative point we can say. The cleaning woman tried to make the bed harder by introducing hardening sheets - but also change of room would have been possible.

Classy, smart clean hotel! free upgrade to suite!”

Freindly, helpful, profesional staff. Clean and modern decor, Gave us free upgrade to suite!!!

Stayed for one night while in Taipei. Wish I had stayed longer, by far the best experience I have ever had staying in Taiwan!! Clean, smart rooms! Classy lobby. English speaking staff on hand, brilliant manner and happy to help. Due to room shortages they decided to upgrade us from our two superior double rooms to suites!! And for free! Really appreciated this as wife is pregnant and found it to be very considerate. Compared to other Hotels in Taipei it is quite affordable. (Wish I could of said such positive things of other hotels in Taipei. But sadly I cant. Long live the Imperial!

Very Homey & Beautiful Rooms”

Room Upgrade, Big Beds, Smiling Staff, Homey Hotel

loved our stay!! i was worried when i booked imperial because i heard it's old. when we got there, i was pleasantly surprised. our deluxe got upgraded to a suite, our premier twin & double had king sized beds. it even included a cute baby cot and bathtub for our baby. we always looked forward to coming home to imperial after a long day of tour. my parents who are travelers themselves considered their suite one of the best rooms theyve stayed on :) although every comment here is true like no grand lobby and the hotel's a bit old (including the elevator) and the buffet breakfast is simple, the peaceful neighborhood with lots of restaurants, the super nice, big & comfy rooms, the ever smiling & helpful staff definitely made up for it :) imperial was one of the highlights of our stay in taipei.

Imperial Hotel Taipei is Superb!”

Service is best in class!! Breakfast selection excellent. Club Room ammenities outstanding!! close to central train station
Hard to find. Some rooms are a little small, but still nice.

This is one of the best hotels in Taipei in my opinion, especially if booked at Agoda rates! Great Value, location, service. Well trained staff all around, especially at the front desk. rooms clean and well appointed. Superb restaurants in the hotel and nearby walking distance. I have stayed at the Imperial several times now over the past 2 years and I am always impressed. And in the summer, the room air-con is excellent! Forget the big name hotels, the Imperial is by far a better value!

Class, clean and good service

Imperial Hotel gave me a good impression, and great price with Agoda. When I reach the Imperial Hotel, they told me my booked room are full, however, they can upgrade my room to VIP room without any additional fees, so me and my brothers both stay in extra large VIP room instead of my paid deluxe room :p I can enjoy the comfort of large living room, king size bed and a very good service. The staffs are very helpful with smile and always ready to help. Thumbs up ! The only disadvantage would be no wifi at room, I can only access internet at lobby.

The Staffs (Mousa Wu) , hotel , cleanliness

Our stay at Imperial was perfect! The location is very centralized, with just 5 min walk to Zhongshan elementary school station. There are also various supermart and eateries nearby! The staffs were all very friendly and helpful. I would like to specially commend Miss Mousa Wu, the service that she has provided is way beyond her duty. My boyfriend was cut by the nail under the carpet, Mousa together with her team, got us the first aid kit immediately and got her engineer to act on preventive measures making sure that no other visitors experience the same thing again. Our experience was perfect! We will definitely choose imperial again!

Convenient location if you like the older Taipei”

Good service and generally convenient location
Not closed to place such as Taipei 101 or main shopping area

Generally, my husband and I liked the hotel. We have never stayed at the Imperial hotel before but we are familiar with the hotel having eat there at the Sonoma restaurant. The hotel is much older than other new ones in Taipei and the room is small. However, the bed is comfortable, service is great and if you like to explore the older part of Taipei, then Imperial Hotel is ideal as the location. We walked around the area and explored the location and like the older area of Taipei - it is not touristy. All and all, Imperial Hotel is not far from a lot of the places in Taipei and taxi is quite cheap so it is easy to get around on taxi from the hotel. For the price, it is definitely more than acceptable in terms of hotel accommodation. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

good location, only few minutes walk to the mrt zhongshan elementary school. only four mrt stops to taipei main station. friendly staff, although not many speaks english. room conditions is acceptable, no complaint at all. has a small bakery at the ground floor and few restaurants in the building. the souvenir shops at the lobby is more expensive than the shop at the taipei airport for the same thing. really enjoy my stay at imperial hotel. opposite bank of taiwan, so easy to change your foreign money to taiwanese dollar. there is a good foot massage next to the hotel. very close to many supermarket, matsusei supermarket and pharmacy opposite the hotel, 7-11. this hotel is also a hotel for klm (the dutch airlines) crew.

None

I stayed at Imperial Hotel (Taipei) for 2 nights. Though the hotel looks a bit old from the lobyy, the room was very comfortable (5-star quality). The amenities were great. Lots of great places to find good food and the "Shuang Cheng" food street is just 5 minutes walk away. Loads of foot massage places if you enjoy that too.

The staff. Comfortable beds. Great all round "vibe".

The people at the Imperial really looked after me. I have stayed there twice now and will stay there every time I travel to Taipei. The Imperial is my home away from home. Superbly positioned in a lovely district. Everything is within a short 2 block walking distance including a great little night market.

Imperial Hotel, Taipei (Nov 13-15, 2008)”

The service is great: the staff are very friendly. The hotel let me check-in well before their 3p.m check-in time. The suite was awesome: really spacious and well furnished!
The breakfast quality wasn't that great for the price but it was a buffet so there was plenty of food.

Imperial Hotel is a good hotel. I got a very comfortable, well furnished and really spacious suite. There wasn't much of a view from the one small window but the comfortable suite more than made up for that deficiency. They even had a mini stair-master in the bedroom if you're interested in a work out first thing in the morning. Unlike any hotel I've stayed in before, they actually give you 2 complementary bottles of water a day! Wifi is not available and they charge for internet but there's a business center on the ground floor where you can connect to the wifi for free. Oh and the bathroom had the controllable bidet/toilet which was cool. I enjoy walking so I found the hotel to be conveniently located. There are 2 subway stations, both about 10min walk from the hotel (Yuanshan and Minquan W Rd). Taxis are quite cheap so if you are not one to walk, there are plenty of those around. There's a small night-market 2min walk from the hotel where you can get a sample of the local food.

VERY GOOD stay in Imperial Hotel ”

Comfortable, clean and centric.
There is no weaknesses that I saw.

I stayed 12 days in Imperial Hotel. Is was very comfortable and clean. Altouhgh the hot and humid weather, thanks to good working air condition in the room, you don't feel that. You can find anything you need in the room and the bathroom. There are iron, iron board, hairdryer, bathrobe etc... I stayed in semidouble room. The bed was very wide and comfortable. I loved especially the big four pillows. The employees are very helpful. It was very delighted stay for me. I don't know if the metro stop near or far. Because I used taxi and the taxi is not so expensive.

good service and clean environment

Since this is our first time in Taipei,we had several considerations before we decided on which hotel to choose.Of course aside from a clean and comfortable room ,its accessibility to public transportation and availability of dining facilities.I did a lot of research from the internet and reading guidance materials for tourists before I made the selection.I would say that my family and I are very satisfy with our stay in Imperial and I would be very happy to recommend it to whoever has the plan of going to Taipei. It's a "value for money." Good location”

comfy bed

This is a good small hotel in Taipei. It also has the classic late 70's era feel to it. This hotel was probably a modern high-end hotel back then. I paid extra to upgrade to a Club room and the food at the club lounge turned out to be worthy of the extra cost. All the staff at the hotel was very friendly and polite. BTW, my guess is that the night-shift concierges must be moonlighting. They probably don't get to go about town much. The room was fine and the bed was excellent. However, the sofa was notably stained. The rug wasn't particularly dirty for a hotel room but it probably was due for another cleaning soon. I'd recommend this hotel to my friends as a good business hotel for short stays. I didn't walk around the hotel area much or took public transportation but I don't think the hotel's location is ideally convenient for tourists. However, taxi is plentiful and inexpensive in Taipei. I took taxi to everywhere.
