Nicely appointed, but a little over the top”
i stayed at the imperial palace hotel - coex for just one night, so this is all based on my first impression. apparently it's a new name and a newly renovated property at the site of an older hotel, which i believe was called the amiga. the imperial palace is an upscale "european style" hotel. located in gangnam, it is not actually that close to coex despite the advertising, but it might be within walking distance (i didn't need to go that direction). overall i thought it was reasonably nice. the lobby was busy and crowded and there are several restaurants in the building. the rooms were spacious with excellent, if slightly worn, bed linens and a large flat screen tv. there is also a mini-bar, for a fee which i assume is as ridiculous as the fees at mini-bars everywhere. the decor in the lobby was somewhat garish, like the whole place was trying too hard to be a european hotel and ended up with the upscale las vegas resort notion of a european hotel. the rooms were more muted, but the overall vibe was a little tacky. if i had paid full freight for the room i would have been mildly disappointed. the amenities were perfectly acceptable but i expect more natural class and quality from a hotel in that price range. i think of overdone vegas resort chic as something you get for a bit less than top dollar, but i guess to each his/her own. if you're looking to pay high-end hotel rates for a high-end hotel experience you could do worse than this place, but based on what my korean friends say, and based on my brief stroll through their lobby on my way to meet some people for lunch, i think you'll be happier at the hotel shilla. that said, at the agoda rate i thought i got fine value for my money. pros: nicely appointed well trained, english-speaking staff comfortable beds large bathroom
best hotel in seoul”
Me and my fiancée decided to stay here during Valentine’s Day, I was looking for a romantic and beautiful hotel and we found it. I live in gunsan and often travel to Seoul to meet my fiancée, after staying in over 50 different hotels in Seoul I must say this one is hands down the best I’ve experienced yet. The best experience staying at this hotel was the level of service you receive, I had only 10 minutes to decorate the room with various valentine’s day items like rose petals and candles, however I forgot to bring wine glasses and a cork opener, I called down to the front desk and literally within seconds they brought the items and even brought a beautiful wine set with ice that I didn’t even ask for to my room free of charge. we also needed a very early check in time and a really late checkout time and they granted that request without question, even when we walked around the lobby the staff would stand up soon as you walked in the room and asked if we needed anything at all, never experienced that kind of service even at the best hotels in America. The hotel is beautiful, we got a few pictures in front of the Victorian fountain in the lobby, and other areas of the hotel and they turned out great. The hotel room was extremely clean when we arrived and was extremely comfortable. The hotel is also located very near the coex metro with plenty to do and was only a 5 min walk from the subway station. The only small thing I found wrong with the hotel was the food prices, the Korean buffet was 60,000 won per person, and we ordered room service the next day and the prices were pretty ridiculous as well, got charged about 9 dollars for a can of coke lol. But this by no means even came close to ruining our experience with this hotel, and there are plenty of very nice reasonably priced restaurants located nearby to make up for it. Truly a 5 star hotel and will defiantly be going back in the future.
Very Solid Hotel”
I have been a faithful guest of the Imperial Palace Hotel since early 2000s, always coming here when on business trips to Korea. The place is well run, rooms are big and full of comforts, the sauna/spa is great. Nothing wrong with this hotel, there are newer situations in Seoul, but I like it here and normally try to get a room if I can.
one of the best hotels in seoul”
I had the best memorable stay at imperial hotel. super comfortable with all the accommodating staff, clean and elegant rooms. basked at the grandeur of the Christmas decorations. really lives up to its reputable name. i will definitely stay in this hotel again when i come back to seoul. no regreta of staying here to explore gangnam district
comment after using the service”
The last hotel that i went is at South Korean at Imperial Palace Hotel, it was very nice hotel 5 stars hotel with reasonable price, I booked in last minute and get confirm easily. The service of hotel is really nice. The request that i asked such as check in early arount 10.00 a.m. and check out late at 2 p.m., I got everything that i have asked. The location of the hotel very convenience, the airport bus stop in front of the hotel and the hotel is in good area and near shopping place. The overall of the service i'm still happy on it.
skip the breakfast buffet ”
This is the 10th time I've stayed here and it met expectations as usual. Mike Chung at the front desk was a superstar. He not only was helpful and professional, but also helped us change rooms quickly and painlessly when ours was unsatisfactory. The breakfast buffet used to be exceptional, but I felt it was lacking this time around. Thefood was mediocre and the staff was unpleasant. All in all I'd recommend the Imperial Palace, but I may stay away from the breakfast. And if you are looking for a great staff member who speaks English very well please look for Mike Chung at the front desk.

Stayed at the Imperial palace for the few time however this time we decided to stay in a Spa Suite. Although the room had no view and was on the third floor it was beautifully furnished and after being in the room for 30 minutes we were totally relaxed. Even the corridor to the room was spectacular, embedded wood, warm soft light and very quiet. It was a nice contrast to the rest of the hotel and a very different experience. We also had full use of the club lounge on the 20th floor which has great views and the breakfast has improved substancially. The only feedback i would offer regarding this hotel is about the Bacon! For a country with so many pork restaurants the bacon is awful. The quality of food at the Imperial Palace has always been great.......except for the bacon... I will stay in this hotel again, the staff are excellent and the rooms we have stayed in have been beautiful.
Classic hotel and service with a smile”
This was my first time to stay in Imperial Palace Hotel, i picked this one and absolutely made a wonderful choice. The staff was nice and timely with calls. I am able to check in although time arrived hotel was late ~11:30pm. The environment & decoration of lobby perfect & classic. The room was clean and had all the amenities that i needed. I will definitely be back and will recommend to others.
My friend and I booked this hotel for our Writer’s retreat, wanting a little getaway even though both of us live in Seoul. Felt nice and posh for a couple of poor English teachers, and the price was much better than other similar sites we looked at. Only the cafe downstairs was beyond our price range—like 10-15 for a non-alcoholic drink. Fantastic lobby downstairs. Pretty good location but a bit of a jaunt to the subway station if you’re on foot. Not too bad just not super convenient. There’s a Starbucks nearby and you’re not far from the action of Gangnam or Itaewon. Would definitely stay again.
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. We will be implementing upgrades to the property. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Yours Sincerely, Seung Geol Lee/General Manager
Imperial Palace Hotel”
Everything about the Imperial Palace is great. We especially enjoyed our bathroom and the extremely fancy toilets with heated seats. With the price we paid through Agoda, it was well worth the experience. The only negative I can think of is the price of food or other items beyond what is complimentary. A cup of tea in the lobby will run you about 15 dollars, for example.
Comfortable nights sleep”
I stayed at the Imperial Palace for 5 nights. The hotel is comfortable, but nothing special. The location is a 5 minute walk from the subway station which is convenient to access all of Seoul. About a 20 minute walk to the more popular shopping area of Gangnam.
Unusually decorated mainstream business hotel”
I have stayed at the Imperial Palace many times whilst in Seoul on business. Although it is in the Gangnam area, it is a little way away from where the action is: a 20 minute walk from Gangnam station and a taxi ride from the COEX. However, it is a well run and nicely looked after hotel (if you don't mind the over-the-top 'imperial' decoration, that represents excellent value for business travellers. It is also one of the stops for the CAL Korean Air airport transit bus, which makes getting from Incheon Airport very easy too.
Beautiful Hotel in Gangnam area of Seoul. To be honest, rooms are a little dated, but they have all the ammenities that you would expect of a high end hotel. Lobby is gorgeous, staff are incredibly courteous, and professional. We are frequent travellers for both business and pleasure, and I would stay here again. Chris

Great value for money and excellent service”
Super luxurious facilities for money , Excellent service, great location and airport shuttle stops in front of hotel. What can you possibly expect better than what I described. Many thanks to all staffs at Imperial Palace hotel.
Beautiful luxury hotel with terrific rooms. ”
This was my third stay at the Imperial Palace. The unique Art Fair that was occurring at the hotel was amazing in it's concept and layout. I do feel that the rooms were overpriced. Perhaps supply and demand were a factor. As an American, it was culturally interesting to witness a traditional wedding there. The concierge was outstanding as were the people at the front desk in helping me with a booking situation. The only real downside is that the neighborhood isn't very appealing for walking around.
Booked this on behalf of my boss who went to biz travel when all hotel in Seoul are fully booked. Yet we can find a good deal at imperial Palace via Agoda. Happy with everything and hope to stay there again.
Luxury hotel in the middle of new downtown.”
it is located in the new downtown area, south part of seoul close to the coex convention center. as a 5 star hotel, it has all the amenities with a top notch service. we stayed in the executive level so the breakfast, internet service in the room, and the fitness club entrance were included otherwise everything you purchase is really expensive. glass of orange juice at the lobby was about $20. also, they charge extra for the outdoor swimming pool usage and the indoor pool is in the fitness club which is separate from the room charge. my daughter who is 10 years old couldn't enter the executive lounge and the fitness club even for the swimming because you have to be 18 years or older. overall, it is a beautiful and luxurious hotel suitable for business travelers or couples.
Classic hotel and good service”
located in gangnam-gu, 5 minutes distance to the subway station by walking. good hotel service. check in and check out were very quick. the view of street side is very nice, but could be a little bit noisy. i changed to another side, very quiet. it's very easy to have a cap to go to the old downtown of the city. the surrounding area is nice, there are sevarl restaurants around, not many choices.
This hotel was great. I became a big fan of this hotel. I am planning to stay at this hotel again in the near future because i found it very convenient to get to places and because it was in the center of seoul, it made it easy for my guest to visit. The hotel was very clean and nice. I recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a reasonable price, yet a nice hotel.
Nice Hotel ”
Very pleased with the service and room with Imperial Palace Hotel. Rate are reasonable.
