Downtown is one hour , Rooms are big, this hotel was Previously own by Hilton , Some room have Golf View , Comfortable bed and pillows , near to wall mart and other shops , indoor swiming pool , free parking , coffee maker in room ,
Hello Ibrahim, Thank you for your review, we are very happy to hear you had enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon! Regard, Krystel G.
very disappointed with my stay they need a serious update or to at least clean the carpets fcol ”
they say free breakfast but literally all that’s there is coffee and cereal. the hotel has a confusing set up and we got lost trying to find our way back from our room to the lobby. during our stay the police were led on a chase through the resort by a man which made for awkward coming and going because the police stayed there for pretty much the remainder of the trip. the towels and beds are clean but worn. about the only thing good i can say is that the water stayed hot for a very long time but the shower head could use a little updating. i’m embarrassed to say how much i paid for this hotel i really could have stayed at the red roof or something. they advertise some nice resort but that is nothing close to reality. horrible hotel, ok guest service.
Hello Charllis, We are sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. The breakfast is complementary and not an added expense to guest staying on property. Guest are welcome to enjoy coffee, tea, juice, assorted donuts, pastries, yogurt, bagels, fruit, and assorted cereals. I do apologize that there was an incident during your stay that involved local authorities. This guest was needed to be removed from the property and having the authorities stay to patrol is something I am happy to have had to ensure the rest of our guest are safe from any other incidences they may have caused. The hotel has not advertised being a resort in over three years.
Good overall value”
I booked two rooms in advance for my daughters 15th birthday. Check in is at 3pm and my 2nd room wasnt cleaned and ready until 5pm. Rooms were spacious and clean. No one has floor to ceiling windows anymore but indian lakes does. Beds and pillows were exceptionally nice. Pool was awesome except it was so crowded from people just coming in off the street not staying at the hotel. And the hot tub was constantly filled with toddlers in float jackets saying help me help me they were so tiny they couldn't climb out and the parents weren't watching. Ice machine on our floor was broke. I read reviews that the continental breakfast was horrible. It was just fine. 3 cereals, yogurt, fruit, various breads, bagels, donuts, pastries, milk, orange juice and coffee. Its free. I live local and have been here many times in past. I want to see it survive. Id like to see some new carpet in the lobby and atrium and some updates. Its dated.
Hello Nichole, We are glad to hear you had a pleasant experience! Thank you for the compliments, our unique hotel design is loved by many! I do apologize for the over crowded pool area. It is one of our best attractions and we try our best to oversee the area. Although we do restrict the hot tub for those 16 and older it is sometimes difficult to make sure guests are abiding the regulation, but with your feedback we will continue to send security more often to establish a better environment. Hope to see you again soon! -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
The only thing that bothered me was breakfast ran out of orange juice 40 minutes from the end. Also kids do not belong on hot tub period. There is a sign plus i mentioned to the staff and they didn't do anything. Can't people read 16 and older . We go to relax not step over around kids ages 3 to 12.
Hello Sandy, We are glad you enjoyed your overall stay. I do apologize that the breakfast area ran out of orange juice prior to closing, I assure you we will do our best to refill our outlets sooner. Yes, children under the age of 16 are prohibited from the hot tub. Although our staff does rounds in the pool area it is sometimes hard for us to manage when parents do not comply with the regulations. This will be brought to the attention of the staff and we will try our best to make sure children are supervised properly and multiple staff rounds be adhered to help resolve the issue. -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
Unfortunately it is a shell of its former self.”
No restaurants, no gift shop, no people. It was like a ghost town. But the room was nice, and the hotel was clean although a bit dated. I also could not get an internet connection in my room for 4 days. I would reccomend because the room rate was very reasonable and hotel was clean.
Hello Dominick, I am happy you had a good overall experience. I am sorry that our outlets have recently closed mainly due to our flag change and becoming a select service vs full service hotel. But we are in the midst of planning new outlets and I do hope you join us again during our high season. -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
Very nice Hotel.”
This was a first time stay at this hotel. We were in town for an interview & to visit relatives. This is an older Hotel but it was kept very nicely. They have an indoor pool area with a small water slide & a hot tub with waterfall. The cave bar & waterfall/pool features were really nice. Both the center area & pool had many tropical plants. There were alot of nice nooks in several places to sit, relax & visit. The workout room had several treadmills & elliptical machines. The rooms were big & comfortable & had a refrigerator. The beds were very comfortable. The pillows were nice soft. The place had a resort feel to it. The location is close to lots of restaurants, shopping & entertainment. The breakfast was a continental breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay & the prices. We would definately recommend this to a friend & would stay here next time we visit Chicago.
Hello Douglas, Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am very happy you and your family enjoyed their stay and the amenities we offer. We do hope to see you again soon! -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
Pro: the place is amazingly decorated and makes you feel like you are on vacation right away. Great value in January for sure. Amazing views with large windows. Con: very minor issue but some parts could use a clean up on ceiling tiles and water damage to the tiles in atrium. Only visible if you are looking for it. Breakfast was hard to deal with as it was all carbs. I am an oddity I am sure but I couldn’t eat all the carby foods and that part of the value was them diminished.
Hello Bradley, Thank you for choosing Indian Lakes Hotel. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! We thank you for your feedback and hope to see you again soon. -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
We had a great time. The pool and jacuzzi were cool and clean. The Cave bar was a cool atmosphere. ”
The architectural atmosphere was awesome. The courtyard with the cane was cool looking. The slide at the pool was fun for kids and jacuzzi was nice for adults. Complimentary breakfast was a nice finish in the morning for both kids and adults.
Hello Nicole, We are happy you had a great stay! Thank you for the review, we hope to see you again soon.
Great location for Bloomingdale/ Medinah”
We were visiting family in Medinah for the holidays. Location was great - only a couple of miles away. Lots of restaurants about a mile away as well. We never used the facilities (pool, bar, etc). But the room was clean and comfortable, and there was a quick continental breakfast in the morning which was a great way to start our day.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am so pleased to hear you had a great stay and I will be sharing your comments with the rest of the team. We are very fortunate to be located in such a great area where we have plenty to do outside of the hotel. Hopefully next time you will be able to utilize our great pool and bar area. We hope you will come see us again soon!
Good Stay ”
The hotel was very clean. The rooms were a little outdated , and smelled like a thrift store but it wasn’t unbearable . The bathroom was really nice. The view from my window was nice . The room was always really clean . I didn’t feel like I couldn’t put my bags down. If I had to come back for a party or something of that nature I would.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. Im glad to hear your overall experience was a good one. We hope to have a renovation in the near future, but our team works very hard to provide our guests with memorable experiences. We would absolutely love to have you back again and look forward to seeing you.
Family Staycation Gateway”
First expression of the hotel is average. It's pretty much what I expected but overall experience was positive. The staff was friendly and nice. The pool was a decent size and the kids had fun. Continental breakfast included only cereal, toast, bagels and fruit. Overall the hotel is not so bad but does needs some moderate updates especially the lobby carpet.
Hello Edgar, Thank you for your feedback. Our hotel is currently in the midst of planning a renovation and are eager to begin them. We are glad you enjoyed your staycation and were able to take advantage of the free Continental breakfast. We hope to see you again soon! -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
the place is very old and needs a lot of work. there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, which made the room very humid after my shower. the windows don't open and the hall ways are very narrow and like a maze. I would only stay there again if there weren't another place to choose from. However the room was big, and seemed to be clean.
Hello Lisa, Thank you for your feedback. Our hotel structure is very unique and was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright and although we agree with you about our hotel needing some updates, we are happy to say our historic structure will stay the same. As for the windows, they are secured closed due to safety reasons. We do not have balconies or railings to protect our guests so they stay closed and locked to prevent any injury. We do hope you visit again after our aesthetic remodel. -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
Nice but Confusing”
When we checked in we were not directed on where our room was so we ended up touring the area before making it to our room & the halls are very narrow and zig zag all over. Wouldn't recommend for anyone in a wheelchair! The room was nice & clean the pool area too. The pool is deeper than most at hotels so that was nice. Wear flip flops though the ground is rough; I assume to prevent falls! The breakfast was a bit disappointing. Nothing hot other than a toaster to do bread or a bagel. Overall we would stay there again if we were in the area but would leave time to go somewhere for breakfast!
Hello Amanda, I am happy you had a good overall experience. I do apologize you were not directed to your room upon check in. Yes, our hotel design is unique and may become confusing but we do offer wheelchair accessible rooms if you need them in the future. I am happy you were able to take advantage of our complimentary breakfast, but no we do not offer hot food items due to the fact we do not operate a full kitchen in the breakfast area. Thank you and hope to see you again soon! -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager.
The heating system in the room was very loud and kept me from sleeping. The pool was overrun by children and the hot tub was closed. There is no microwave in the room but there is one on the first floor for the entire facility to share but it was not working properly.
Hello Karen , I apologize you were unhappy with your stay and that the heating unit disrupted your sleep. Please know if you choose to give us another try we are here to help with any guest issues and would have been able to move you to a more suitable room. Thank you for your feedback. -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
Gyorgyi and Jozsef from Hungary /European Union/ Excellent staff, beautiful area inside and out,,very good swimming pool, very nice hotel.
Hello Jozsef, Thank you for staying with us! We are glad to hear you had an excellent time and appreciate your kinds words. Hope to see you again soon! -Krystel Garcia Front Office Manager
Have nothing bad to say about our stay except that we wish it couldve lastes longer, the room was nice, that faculty were very nice and helpful, it was a great time for us and we are definitely going to come back when more of the attractions are running....i.e mini golf, shiraz speak easy.
It was ok until the fire Alan went off at 4am and stayed on for about 30 mins. And no one had answers or knew what to tell us. I was told we can stay in the room or come in the lobby it was up to us. Not good customer service.
This hotel is horrible. The rooms are very noisy with the compressorsand although I requested a none smoking room the room smelled of smoke. Water was leaking in the room around the windows and all I got was the engineer is gone for the night, we can send security to put down towels. Really. Talked to the manager the following morning and he did not appear to care. If you have not booked this property, don’t.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am very sorry to hear about your experience during your visit to the Indian Lakes Hotel. I apologize for any inconvenience you faced during your stay and I will be sure to share your comments with our Maintanance team in an effort to improve our guest experience. Terrible Building and staff”
The a/c ,fridge, and light went out for nearly 2 days! All of my food in the fridge went bad and we were not compensated at all not even a apology. I would never stay here again I’m pregnant and even when the power came the a/c didn’t work and no one cared
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am so sorry to hear of your experience with us. We take great pride in providing excellent service and quick response times when guests are in need. I will be following up with our maintanance team to understand how we were unable to fix these items, as im sure you mentioned them to the staff. With regards to power outages, Im not aware of any power outage that lasted multiple days, but I will be looking in to this as well. Again we apologize for any inconvenience
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the hotel. I was informed that the hotel would have shuttles provided for the guests but there weren't. I and my guest had to take a Lyft everywhere we went and made the expenses a lot higher. We came with the intention of seeing all of downtown Chicago but were far from it transportation wise. Furthermore, we were disappointed with the amenities provided. Most of the hotel was closed off. Even the spa was closed for some reason on the day we decided to go. I found a spider in the bathroom as well. There were also blood stains on one of the pillows and I can assure you that it was not from me or my guest. ... The windows of my room were dirty as well. I did not like that the front desk carpet had stains on it. I did like that the there were plenty of places to order delivery from. This experience was not what I expected from the hotel especially for the price I paid... I am sorry to inform you that I will not be staying at this hotel.....
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I am very sorry to hear about your experience. I do apologize for any confusion, but our hotel has not provided shuttle service for a few years now and we have not run the spa or golf course as well in that time period. Please feel free to contact me directly with the source of that information and I will be sure to have them remove that. In the meantime, you are able to visit our hotel website for all amenities the hotel has to offer.
