Sweet Bungalows and wonderfully accommodating
Far most bungalow on the right: high up. Had a nice view of the grounds & could see some natural landscape from there, w/ a balcony. The room was basic w/ a bed, carpet over the floor slats (made of bamboo & natural materials), bathroom w/ shower & water heater. It was a bit rickety & the slanted floor freaked me out at first but quickly saw how quaint and authentic it was (steep stairs may not be suitable for physically disabled or elderly - would check ahead of time). Despite the structure being questionable I felt safe. The place itself is so beautiful and peaceful, complete with lovely restaurant w/ delicious & well priced food (around $2 for a dish) w/ good sized servings. Cons: the room wasn’t terribly clean; while the sheets were washed, the pillows had mold on them(it’s really humid in Cambodia). I also got a dish that was supposed to be veg but had chicken/ some of the staff doesn’t speak great english but it’s my fault for not learning “vegetarian.” Great staff!!!

Nice place to stay
Loved these small but suitable lodges. Did have a plague of ants come and join us but wasn't an issue, was actually quite funny trying to stomp them all they preceded to bite. lol. Staff were friendly, we rented a motorbike here. Only a short walk to the town, however, at night it was quite dark so may be slightly daunting for a single female, although we had no trouble. Not a lot to do in the town, defo need a scooter here to see the beautiful scenery and waterfalls.

Awesome
This place was amazing. Location is not in the centre but possible can walk there as it's only a kilometre or two but the location is amazing as you're in nature. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There wasn't so much choice on the food menu for me as a vegetarian but the food I did have was very tasty. There are beautiful gardens and the room is such good value! Food and drink is cheap too. Also it was nice and quiet at night :)

Cut off electricity and lied about it
The electricity was cut off at 11pm, room was boiling hot. Confronted the owner about it...he lied and said it was because the whole town's electricity was out. Not true as house across the road had a light on. As soon as I got back to the room, the electricity magically came back and the humming of a generator could be heard. Also we didn't stay one night but yet they would not offer a cancellation, even with a fee, and insisted we pay the full price. If you like insects, you will not be disappointed however as the whole room was crawling with them. Thank you so much.

Mixed feeling about this place.
A friend and I both solo traveling shared the family room for a couple of nights to enjoy trekking in the jungle. We got there late at night and got a free pick up which was much appreciated. BE CAREFUL when you step off the bus with the pavement slabs as there are gaps and i fell through. Luckily I was able to pull my leg out and nothing was broken and I was only left with bruises and cuts/scratches. Apparently I was the third person this had happened to recently. The place and lodge were great, clean and well maintained. However the mosquito nets need replacing as they have many holes in them. The staff were really nice and friendly but were a little pushy with booking their tour, which may be due to the timing we got there and preparation needed. The food is terrible at the restaurant unfortunately. The breakfast was fine and I had a traditional Aubergine soup which was delicious but the rest of the dishes and soups we tried were terrible, and we heard fellow guest complaining too. Some were just left uneaten. They need to get new chef and invest in their menu! The tour itself and the route was challenging and really good. However the guide was changed on the second day as we wished to take a ethical trip and not see the elephants, and he often walked away or laughed during tricky and dangerous parts of the trek, rather than helping and guiding. He was also taking constant videos of us and at times the context was inappropriate (in swimwear coming in and out of the waterfall) and we had to tell him to stop. The lunch was also terrible on the trek, they provided the same dish daily which was basic noodles and an egg. Although this may be due to the fact that there are few dishes that may be able to sustain the heat. However they should think about this more as you do need a good meal which trekking at this level. The first days trek was great, the guide was great and we stayed at his home. Be prepared for basic living and bathing conditions, I was not expectin

Quiet Repose in a Busy Little Town
We stayed at the Indigenous People Lodge for three days. They have all sorts of home stay opportunities, treks and local tours (waterfalls mostly) they can arrange but they didn't pressure us to do any of it with them. Our bungalow had two beds w/ mosquito nets, a large bathroom and small porch for sitting in the evening which we enjoyed. Sen Monorom is much cooler than the lowlands so the fan we had at night was adequate. The staff were very helpful with info about the local area. If you need all the modern amenities hotels have these days, then you probably should look elsewhere for accommodations. I hasten to add that the Indigenous People Lodge is not some backpacker hangout. It's far superior to that. The coffee at breakfast was real drip coffee (by the cup) unlike any coffee we've had in Cambodia and it was delicious! I know that sounds funny, but it was a highlight each morning we were there. They are slowly improving the grounds with interesting local flora and we really enjoyed our relaxing stay at the Indigenous People Lodge. We hope to return there someday.

Quiet Place & Kind Staff
You can feel the nature at everywhere in the lodge. All the staff is very kind and they are ready to help you. The lodge was the most satisfied point during my short Mondulkiri trip.

enjoyable stay
Solid value for the money. It's well-located and Manel and his staff are very sweet and helpful. Free pickup and drop-off from the van company site in town was a nice touch.
