Exceptional”
Staff and service is really good. The boat is all wooden and very traditional so it's a different experience from rest. But very well maintained and it has big bathroom with a tub.. highly recommend it versus others

Good stay & nice views”
Our cruise was at half of its occupancy so the amount of guests was perfect. Got a free upgrade to suite because of this and it was great! The room and ship is kind of old but still maintained well. You can hear other rooms slightly but no complaints about that. Had a good view because of the balcony. Buffet was good for breakfast and lunch, dinner was a set meal and I feel it can be better. The stops at various attractions were great, sufficient time to see everything. I think 2d1n is the perfect stay!

Did a 2 night/3 day cruise with this company. Everything was really nice and we got upgraded to the presidential suite which was larger and had a bathtub. Facilities a bit old and need repair but overall very nice. Other boats seem to be party boats but ours was relaxing. Also had the best massage there! Food was average.

Unexpectedly superb. ”
I booked this one night/two day cruise through Agoda, obviously, at least two weeks in advance. For all that time, I never received an email from neither Agoda nor the Indochina Sails regarding our transportation from Hanoi to Halong. Therefore, we took the liberty of going to the place it said on the website where we could take a minivan to Halong to get on the cruise. Luckily, we got there early to find out that we had to book our transportation beforehand and not on the spot. We intended on booking our transportation, but didn't find any contacts of the sort.We were also told by the other cruise companies that we were supposed to be picked up at our hotel in Hanoi and we were supposed to be informed by either Agoda or Indochina Sails. As it was approaching 8:00 AM (the time where the minivan was supposed to leave to Halong) I started to get panic. So, I gave Agoda a call and told them about the situation. An Agoda representative put me on hold for about ten minutes and wouldn't let me speak to the Indochina sails staff directly. While I was being put on hold on the phone, an Indochina Sails van showed up to pick my boyfriend and I up. As soon as we got inside the van, the driver had told us that he went to our hotel to pick us up and I was very confused because we weren't informed of the matter whatsoever. In about two minutes, I was put on the phone with an Indochina Sails rep. She told me that Indochina Sails was informed of where we were staying and it was Agoda that was supposed to let us know all of the transportation etc. All in all, I blame Agoda for their poor communication with me. All I got from Agoda was the confirmation and nothing else. How were we supposed to know what to do without being informed? I will really reconsider doing business with Agoda again. The cruise, on the other hand, was excellent. The food was surprisingly amazing. The service was superb and the program itself was well put together. I highly recommend this cruise.

Lovely Hotel and service”
The transfer service from hanoi to halong bay was on time and very plesant and comfortable. Welcoming in halong and transfer from the mainland to the junk was also pleasant and smooth. The welcoming on board the junk was wonderful and the staff was very helpful.We were promised an enlish speaking guide and he was very fluent and most of the staff really made an effort in their own to try and comunicate in english, which really impressed us.The food was fresh and good and we cant cmplain at any time were hungry due to small portion. Over all the service was amazing from the very start when we did the booking and all the way back to Hanoi. We dont konw what the other srevice providers are like, but we will highly recomend Indochina sails, your bound for a wonderful experience and satisfaction.

Excellent, would highly recommend”
We had an absolutely relaxing and enjoyable time on IndoChina Sails. The food was delicious and staff were excellent and very accomodating. The scenery and touring was spectacular. The upmost attention to detail was evident during our entire two night trip. The boat was in excellent condition and very safe and our cabin was of an excellent standard, especially the bathroom. Would highly recommend and is well worth the money. Having two happy-hours per night and staff constantly serving you during these times was a real treat!

Tranquility”
A lovely experience. Would certainly encourage a 2night stay as we did - the one nighters had finished the tour before it had really started. The staff, particularly the tour manager David Chen were excellent, very polite and informative, while Halong Bay itself is stunning. We were looking for a relaxing and chilled time, which we got. If you are looking for high octane thrills, look elsewhere. We would certainly recommend Indochina Sails to others.

An amazing experience in Halong Bay”
My experience with Indochina Sails was excellent. We had a lovely time on our 2 night, 3 day trip. The only disappointment was Agoda overcharging significantly for the trip - Indochina Sails own web site is cheaper - book there or use Handspan (even better deals!)

I would say i not just like my whole 3 days 2 nights stay .. I LOVE IT i will come back for the next time with my partner. Early this year during Chinese New Year i came to stay here with my family members. We had alot of fun with the activities and the staff in indochina sails are very friendly. Even the room are very comfortable. i love it

Expensive but worth it”
We were moved onto the Santa Maria as our Indochina Sails ship was being painted white in accordance withe new policy out there. There are ten cabins which were clean and comfortable but a little on the small side. there was not much room for you luggage so if you go, and you should, travel light. food was good but rations were a little on the small side. Alcohol on board was reasonably priced and there is little to match sitting on deck with a gin and tonic as the sun sets on Halong Bay.The trip was undoubtedly enhanced by a willingness of everyone on board to mix, swap stories and advice and have a good time The down side was the trip out. It was wacky races with a death wish. Unless something is done to curb the suicidal tendencies of the bus drivers, there is going to be serious carnage on the road from Hanoi to Haiphong one day. A rail link is being built but I am not sure of proposed completion date

Very disappointed ”
We were a very disappointed in our trip but not all Indochina’s fault. We scheduled the 2 day one night stay which was going to be the part of our trip were we planned on treating ourselves to something nice. After talking the 4 hour bus transport from Hanoi we were told on arrival that the weather was expected to be bad in the area and that no boats would be allowed to stay overnight. We were given the option to do the day cruise (6 hours total) or hire a private driver to take us back to Hanoi and no other options. Indochina was unable to quote us a price for the day cruise since we booked through Agoda and since we were already there we really didn’t have much choice but to do the day option. Other travelers on other boats were told earlier and were given options to cancel or reschedule. After our very short disappointing cruise we were only refunded (1/3rd) of the price even though we only had 6 hours instead of 24, 1 meal instead of 3, and no overnight stay. Overall unhappy ..

We really enjoyed our time on the cruise ship. The food was great and the excursions off the boat were outstanding, particularly climbing to the top of the mountain and swimming in Ha Long Bay afterwards. Would highly recommend this cruise to anyone!

Despite disappointing weather, every member of the crew was upbeat, cheerful and friendly and almost without exception we were addressed by name. The accommodations were splendid, the ship was smooth and quiet and the sights were absolutely incredible. Great value, considering that it includes round-trip transportation in a comfortable minivan, three meals plus an early breakfast and a shore excursion to the best island. A photographer's dream come true. This tour is a must-do!

Classy way to see Halong Bay”
We did the 2 day, 1 night Halong Bay tour and were very happy. Transfer from Hanoi was on time and check in was quick and easy. The boat is beautiful and spacious with lots of space for the 20 or so guests. Our room was on the second floor, had great views, a queen size bed and big shower. It made for a great nights sleep. Food was delicious, with many courses per meal ( many seafood based). My wife is vegetarian and they made up a different meal for each course for her. Drinks were reasonably priced with two happy hours (2 for 1). We had a great time lying on the deck chairs taking it all in. The floating village tour was also interesting. Staff were very friendly, fun and attentive. A great way to see Halong Bay.

Not worth the money, Ha Long Bay has been destroyed ”
Unfortunately you have to pay a lot to get a decent cruise around Ha Long Bay. Even for the very expensive price of Indochina Sails we felt we over paid for the experience. The food was the worst we had in Vietnam, the tours around the bay were disorganised and most of the staff weren't bothered. During happy hour the top deck bar wasn't even open, but two crew members were hidden behind watching loud videos on their phones. Kind of ruined our relaxing evening overlooking the limestones. The saddest thing though is the actual state of the bay, it is so contaminated and full of trash. I don't think I saw one living creature during the 24 hours we were there. They should shut down all cruises so the place can recover from all of the irresponsible tourism.

Peaceful atmosphere and charm”
Excellent experience all around. Very nice and helpful staff. Great food, and lots of food for each meal. Ship has a lot of older details that are very nice and elegant. Some parts of the boat are a little older, but nothing bothersome, and the older characteristics give the boat character too. The cabin was small but nice, with a great modern bathroom. The atmosphere on the boat is very nice and peaceful. It’s a good size - neither too big nor too small, and not too crowded, even if most cabins are booked.
