    Stay here! Of all the Anchorage accommodations in this price range (and even some higher), Ingra House (on Ingra Street) is heads and shoulders above them. For cleanliness, safety, staff, and upkeep, this place can't be beaten. The rooms are small but sufficient: a clean bed, small desk, night table, dark blinds, and wardrobe. Your room has also a fridge and freezer. The kitchen is communal but well-equipped with a coffee maker (coffee is provided), a 4-burner range, another refrigerator, a dining table, and dishes galore. Bathrooms are shared but numerous, large, lockable, and usually available. The shower is hot. Towels, washcloths, soap, and shampoo are provided at check-in. If you think something is missing, ask the staff. If possible—and reasonable—they'll get it for you. Next time I'm overnighting in Anchorage at my own expense, I'll stay at the Ingra House.
