Gem in the Rough”
The Ink Hotel has a modern design which appeals to me. It's a newer build and is kept clean, unlike someof the so called inns and hotels in Georgetown. The only problem with this hotel is the location. It's in an odd spot. However. I enjoy walking so it wasnt an issue for me. The hotel did have an issue with the Wifi. They advised that the whole area was having an issue with the wifi.
very nice staff and hotel room”
the room is very nice and the staff is very very nice and friendly 😊 will choose ink hotel again for next trip to Penang ❤
Nice hotel in Georgetown”
I stay here during PIBM 2014, carpark are available even though limited space. Friendly staff in Ink Hotel, keep it up people! I like the room setting and yes your aircond is very cold which I like the most =)
Affordable but yet comfortable ”
I enjoyed my stay in ink hotel. So much so that I decided to extend my stay for another night. You'd need to bring your own toiletries though as there're none provided which in my opinion isn't a big deal. The only unplesant thing is just that since the rooms are pretty close to each other, you'd find it to be pretty noisy especially on weekends cause people would walking in and out. Other than that, it's a pretty cool place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Very pleased with ink hotel!”
Very pleased with ink hotel. Great and helpful service and comfortable room. Nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. Quite large room.
i would not come back anymore”
the only best thing for this hotel is the wifi. maybe because i check in on weekdays, the wifi very fast. i check in on 12am midnight, the parking lot in front of the hotel are full and i cannot find any vacant parking outside the hotel. asked the front desk staff and she told me there's parking lot behind the hotel. i spent 10 minutes to look for the so called parking lot but failed. and then i realised it is actually not a "parking lot". it is just a empty space right behind of the hotel, and there's only THREE parking space. after check in, once i step into the room i can smell very bad smell. it is like wet stuff that keep in a room for some time. after traveling really exhausted and went for shower. OMG! there's only two toiletries in the bathroom(paper roll & something didnt label whether it is shower gel or body syampoo). dont give a damn when im really tired, just shower. the water is not really hot, and the shower place drainage is stuck. water cannot go in smoothly! omg~ im worry the bathroom will get flooded! and i found out the toilet bowl is so dirty. as i know this is a newly open hotel, i dont expect to see all these stain!finally i can sleep! wow!! the pillow is so smelly!!!!! seriously feels mad at that moment, im exhausted and i just want to sleep! overall, for budget travel like me, i dont expect mush on the room decor or staff service. but, i only need a clean room! please find out what i mentioned in room 101! i had a nightmare to stay in your hotel. i travel frequently to penang, and like to stay all over in penang boutique and budget hotel. even backpacker is cleaner than your hotel. i know the parking lot might cannot do anything, but please improve your room's cleanliness.
ADEQUATE FACILITIES EXCELLENT LOCATION”
The only major issue with INK hotel is that parking is very very limited. Other than that, service from staff, location and cleanliness is excellent. The corner room is larger and more spacious than the intermediate one.
Worth A Try ”
Had my stay on the 4th Oct. Penang started to rain upon our arrival. After our breakfast,we decided to try our luck if we can request the hotel to allow us for early check-in as it was pouring heavily, and in fact the rain never stops till the next morning. Luck was on our side as the hotel allowed us to check-in a little bit earlier than the check-in time at 2pm, as the room is ready. We really appreciated the hotel's kind consideration. Our room was at the Ground Floor, near to the reception area. Room is fine, just enough for 2 persons stay. Bathroom is spacious with full amenities provided. The only drawback is the noises produced outside the room is quite obvious and the water running sound is disturbing, in fact the whole night as the pipe connects from from upper level rooms. We hardly can have quality due to the noises. Overall, we had a pleasant stay experience, other than the drawback mentioned. Staffs are very friendly regardless any shifts. Averagely good for a newly operating hotel. Keep it up!
Everything was good except one night shift malay staff”
Hotel was up to expectation with price paid. Parking was abit inconvenient but the chinese boy was very helpful with helping us sort this out. The other staffs were friendly and helpful too except one malay girl we encountered on night duty during one of the days of our stay. We came back to the hotel at 1 am and had trouble parking finding parking for our car, went up to the lobby to ask if we could double park and call us if anyone wants to remove their car, but before we could finish our sentence she told us off rudely that we can't double park and that the hotel parking was full. Not to mention, she was also sleeping on her duty the time we came back. The following night, same thing happened, no parking we double parked but this time the helpful chinese boy was on duty and came to our assistance and told us to leave our car key with him so that he could remove our car later on. We agreed and as we were approaching the lift, the same rude malay girl came out asking us if that was our car and told us to remove it. The chinese boy was explaining to her that he will handle it but she just kept ranting and telling him to ask us to do it ourselves, all said in front of us loudly. Other than that, the hotel was not too bad.
clean room & bathroom...”
only 7minute to George Town. room and bathroom very clean & not smelly... cold air cond... Staff friendly... will choose this hotel for next Penang trip...
Love The Space”
Got myself a single room, and to my surprise the room was huge and has tall ceilings. The staffs were friendly and helpful. There's also a few famous eateries within walking distance from the hotel, where can see people lining up in front of the stalls. Comparing to staying in a rest house/capsule hotels that price aren't much different, this is definitely good for value. Plus you get your own privacy too. Will come again!
Nice, comfortable, convenient stay! Value for money!”
Unsure how many star this hotel, but definitely nice and value for money. Good wifi, TV, Aircond, nice bed, clean hotel and good location!. Provides filter water in case want to make coffee in the room. Located along Siam Road, where the very famous Char Kuey Teow stall is about 200 meters away. FYI, 3pm can start to queue for delicious fried. Few downside however: 1. lack of parking space. First come first serve. Morning wake up, the porch is full with cars and some have to come to move their cars to allow car parked earlier out. 2. Sound insulation of the room need to be improved. TV noise from other room can be heard but still not too loud if you also switch on the TV. I will consider to come back for another stay if I'm there.
Somewhat comfy if not for the annoying noise above room”
Our overall 4 days stay was great if not for an ongoing spinning sound from what it seems like a washing machine above us. But it didn't actually disturbed our sleep since we are so tired most of the time. A 2-3 blocks walk and you'll reach the famous Penang Times Square. Also near the area a bit farther is the Komtar Tower. Parking was crowded but we always have one when needed even if its too late in the evening. Can fit at least 7 cars in the front and about 3 cars at the back entrance. Thats a good thing about the hotel we never had a problem with parking.
Very good and underated hotel”
New hotel, very comfortable stay with all amenities that are functioning fine. Good WiFi and air-cond, very spacious, sheets smells good and very friendly staff. Good location, nearby all tourist attractions, great for walking tour. Nice overall ambiance. Will definitely come again for 5 star facilities for a cheap price. Only limited parking available, especially if peak season.
Exceptional”
The room was pretty big. When I booked the room online, they didn't indicate whether there's a window or not at the room. When I checked in, the front desk said there's no window for my room. Tried to call the hotel from Google and from the room card's but it couldn't be reach. Parking was first come first serve and there's not much parking available at the premise. There was no circulation / ventilation fan in the toilet hence it feels like suffocated when I was in the toilet. I love the design of the hanging rack and place to put the bag. Overall design was ok. Comfortable to stay in. My con is just the parking and also there front desk lady when I checked out, she gave me a 'i don't care' look.
Worth it”
Cheap room with great location. Room was clean, and tidy. Iron was not available at the same level. Need to go to ground floor for ironing, and parking spaces were limited. Otherwise, staff member was helpful, friendly. Would highly recommend this place and surely, for another visit once in Penang
Cheap and Good Budget Hotel”
My aunties and uncles went Penang to visit a grand uncle. The hotel is near the hospital, new and just beside a coffee shop that my grand aunt owns. My aunties and uncle really enjoyed their stay. It's only a year plus old when they stayed.
Worth For Money”
Location near to Georgetown Main Place & Near to Gurney Drive... Only 1.2km to Deen Maju Nasi Kandar... Room are small but is ok with price u pay... Front desk staff not freindly Parking are limited Surrounding have nothing for walking distance Overall is worth for money u pay... Not for family trip
Friendly staff, good location”
the hotel is situated within town, but u need transport to go anywhere nearby. Walking is an option, but it's at least 15 mins to penang times square, 25 to komtar/1st avenue/prangin mall. there's limited parking lots in the hotel (around 10 max at the front & 4 at the back). greeted by a friendly chinese staff during check in. appreciate the patience in giving some explanation to my queries. but guess what, they have ALSO staff from other races (yes very muhibbah) and not only are they equally friendly, but answer everything with a big smile. it felt nice to be in such a hotel. sound proofing is an issue. i took a single room (quite big too), but i can hear a guy's snoring from next door!!!! other guests weren't considerate (can't blame the hotel) after midnight and there were lots of noises. it would be a good idea to remind guests to keep the noise down after midnight? back to the room, the facilities were ok. great samsung tv. Limited local channels but thank goodness can plug in pendrive for movie etc. so i'm well entertained. shower was ok, the water pressure was quite strong. but because the toilet was kinda small, so it's kinda difficult to turn around for a moderate size like me. suggestion: a mini fridge in the room would be great. can use it to cool some of the drink i have.
Affordable Hotel near Times Square”
Neat and clean and simple hotel that would provide you all the basic necessities you'll need from a hotel. Walking distance from bus stops and Penang Times Square.
