Potential but dated and dirty
I like the intercontinental. We have stayed at numerous intercontinental across Asia but this one was the dirtiest. I loved our suite. The space is great and good value for the money. But there was barf on pur bed skirt and dust in almost every corner. The rooms smell moldy as the furniture smells twice as bad. It was actually pretty disgusting. I was pleased with the food and the staff responsiveness, the cleanliness of the beach.

If you are looking for something cosy and romantic this is not for you. If you have a bunch of kids this is more for you. Very nice hotel, food in restaurants are clearly overprice, restaurant just outside the resort is prefered.

Nice setting!
The major advantages: - nice, big rooms and comfy beds - perhaps the cleanest beach on the island - nice & large estate - the nice breakfast and good coffee - it's in a good location - close to the airport and only 20 min drive from the trendy Seminyak The disatvantages: - the age of the hotel is starting to feel lots of small details like the furniture, the pipes, etc - they don't pay much attention to the cleaning part unfortunately - crazy expensive prices for the rest of the services (food, massage, even printing a piece of paper costs) - it is a shame cause the quality of the food was average and not worth the prices they practice. There is an amazing restaurant close by called Cuca which practices similar prices but the quality there is Michelin Star! They charge 400.000 rupiah for a transfer from the airport when getting a cab is only 40.000 rupiah ... Instead of making you feel wellcomed it makes you feel riped off and that is a shame

Be warned about fine print when booking
Position, position, position
We liked the hotel in general but were appalled when we notified Agoda that we would not be areiving until 3 days into our booking, to be told that we had lost our deposit. We had notified the motel and Agoda that we would be there and expected our room to be ready for us at whatever time we arrived. The hotel however has booked our room to someone else and dos not want us to check in until after 3.00. This is an appalling practice that has left me and my husbands experience quite damaged.
