The InterContinental Budapest enjoys an excellent location on the banks of the Danube next to the Chain Bridge. All important sights are within easy walking distance. The Váci shopping street, the Central Market Hall and the Gellért Baths are nearby, as well. Tram stops can be found right outside the hotel. The elegantly furnished suites and rooms at the InterContinental feature sleek interior design. Some offer stunning views of the river and the castle. Simply the best”
This was our first trip to Budapest and oh boy did we love it. Firstly when you book your room ask for a river view as its so beautiful to watch the boats pass back, the museum from across your room is breathtaking. Now if you ask for the Executive room you will have a splendid view of the river and life below on the street from the Club Lounge. This hotel is walking distance to the Parliament House, Chain Bridge and the former Royal Palace plus some of the local shops and restaurants. How often can you find someone who really enjoyed their job and we found Marietta from the Spa having just that. Its like oozing out of her and one cannot but help to have some spa treatment from her (of course we bought loads of products too). The staff at the Executive Lounge became like family as we saw them most of the time. Like at Hilton Millenium Seoul we actually saw the General Manager at the kitchen and talking with the doorman. Intercontinental Budapest has made our stay at Budapest one of the most memorable one and I encourage anyone going to Budapest to stay at this hotel (its so close to the riverfront). Well done Intercontinentl Budadepst and Marietta (you have got a fan here!!!)
Location of hotel is very nice for sight seeing”
intercontinental of budapest hotel is very nice in terms of employees service, location and facility. swimming pool and sauna and fiitness center are wonderful. hotel rooms are very clean and vidw from the room for buda area was not forgettable. especially empoyees were very kind to hotel guest.
nice river view and great location”
My boss is very satisfied with this hotel. Though not every Intercontinental Hotel is a guarantee, this one in Budapest is great. The hotel condition is good and river view from the room is very nice. It's conveniently located and have easy access to many tourist spots.
Perfect location with fantastic view”
We stayed at Intercontinental Budapest for 4 nights, Aug 15 to 19, for our daughter's wedding. The location was perfect for us, since the wedding party happened across the street, in one of the floating restaurants. Excellent services and exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff.
Great Hotel in Central Budapest”
We spend 5 days in Budapest and really enjoyed our stay at Intercontinental, located right by the Danube River with stunning views, especially in the evening. We decided to include Club Access which is highly recommendable and good value for money. We also recommend the SPA and the fitness center which is very modern and clean. All in all a great stay.
Outstanding in every way, could not have asked for”
The friendliness and quality of the staff was astounding, one I would expect of far superior hotel chains. Without a doubt on of the best hotel staff (most efficient, friendly, and hard-working) in my experience, a close second to the Peninsula in Bangkok. The rooms were outstanding too, and the view was even better than advertised. The Intercontinental was a fabulous stay, a perfect way to end our vacation.
Beautiful view and a very attentive staff”
i really enjoyed my stay. the service was pretty much as good as it gets. everyone was more than helpful, very professional, and honestly i can't think of a way in which it could be improved. the staff working at the lobby bar was excellent and offered a lot of helpful recommendations. the *only* thing that could have been better that comes to mind is the pool is a little small and bland. however, i feel that the hotels location and staff more than make up for this, especially with all of the bath houses in budapest (a must visit), pretty much any hotel pool would look lame by comparison. i found the area fine, lots of great food and coffee within an easy walk. the internet in the rooms is good, but a little overpriced.
Convenient location with fantastic river view”
The best thing we have made for this trip is chose the right hotel.Inercontinental Hotel is situated in the perfect location to view the Buda Castle Hill and Chain Bridge, night view is magniciant, you will be amazed how gorgeous it is. Hotel is clean and staff are all very friendly, especially from the concierge. Move around is very easy, tram station is just in front of the hotel and metro station one block away. If we visit Badapest again, we definitely go back to Intercontinental.
Location and service”
The hotel is right at the river side of Pest. We stayed 2 nights and requested river view. However, they only offered 1 night river view for us which means we need to move after first night. The service was international which means the staff was not running with heart. Just a feeling and could not provide an example. Everything was good. 5 minutes walk to the metro station and shopping center. Chain Bridge is just outside of the hotel. Request or book a river view room is a must. Otherwise, there will be better in the Budapest.
Great Location ”
We didn’t have a river view room but we spent time in the lobby and on the patio cafe enjoying the view. It was close to most sights and lots of restaurants. If you don’t have breakfast included there is a great breakfast place in the square just just two blocks behind the intercontinental. It is called Patmos and you can get scrambled eggs with ham and toast for 1000 HUF and great coffee for about 580 HUF So your whole breakfast is like $7.50 CDN
book InterContinental Hotel was a wise decision. I got a room with amazing view on the river, Chain bridge and Royal Palace. Plus is very convienient to the most attractions. It's worth for money for sure. The service is excellent as well.
Good location, good rooms but small bathroom”
the hotel is perfectly located next to river danube and at the chainbridge. good for sightseeing and shopping. the outside of the hotel is ugly but the inside is well renovated over the last years. rooms are good but bathroom is rather small. budapest is a great city for history, shopping and nightlife lovers.
Hotel conveniently located for all spots. Everything in a short walking distance with Tram stop and Big Bus Tours stop right outside. Beautiful views of Danube river and the Budapest Castle from our room
Everything was excellent. Especially the riverside view with the Palace on the mountain from the room was wonderful through the largest window at night. The hotel itself was also luxury and clean, with bigger size room which was very comfortable, located at the best site in the city. Staff services were also very courteous and restaurant served very good food. The only problem was one of the bed making staff who had a doubt behavior while we were at the breakfast. My wife's sudden return from the restaurant discovered the event, and had nothing be stolon. Hotel Manager responded quickly faithfully and no more problems happened.
Excellent luxury hotel”
Beautiful hotel with stunning views of Budapest. The staff was extremely polite and courteous. Room very clean and with fast wifi.
My friend and I spent two nights in this hotel. We traveled from Prague to here . Budapest was not that good comparing to Intercontinental which was loacted by the river. So I ended up choosing the location and I deeply hope the service of intercontinental would also nice. Unfortuntely , I was totally wrong !! The reception and concierge were not that friendly and helpful. It looked like a business hotel! I did borrow the adapter and the brought it up in the room with the letter saying that if I didn't return it we will charge XX . I've been travelling around the world both pleasure and on business and also I had a chance to stay in many 5* hotels both in Europe and Asia . I never experinced the hotel sending me the letter about the charge of the charger. This is very little thing that could bring about the bad impression to come back to this hotel again
Nice hotel friendly service”
The room was a nice size, clean, food was good. Assorted lemonades lovely. Staff were courteous and the only quibble was having to pay for internet access - wireless. Most hotels have free wireless access these days. We went on a city bus tour. The guide was not always understood, but what we caught was interesting. The tour was purchased via the hotel, and afforded us views of the city we wold not have been able to experience otherwise.
Exception view of the Danube”
The view from our room facing the Danube river was breath taking. This hotel is located on the bank of the river Danube. Although we had to pay extra for the river view upgrade but it was money well spent. Chain Bridge,Buda Castle and Parliament House nearby.
Great staff, good room with fantastic view. Bathroom to small. Dining along the river with view of the Danube. Hotel right on river walk. Best hotel location in Budapest.
Old hotel with nice location with the best view of budapest, but staff no smile at all. Room is old without usb plug for charging electronic device. Toilet is small, no kettle in room.
