The main problem with the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is that you feel unworthy to be there. Located in a secluded area 30-40 minutes away from central Da Nang, the resort is broken up into the tiers of heaven, sky, earth and sea from top to bottom - traversing each tier is done through the Nam Tram, which affords a magnificent view over the entire complex. Looking out of your bedroom balcony also gives you a magnificent view. As does the sleekly designed reception area. As well as the entire sea level. It is actually very difficult to take a non-picturesque photo while in this resort. I could go on about how incredible the rooms look, and how the Long Bar is the epitome of "relaxing cocktail drinking area", and how the speaker systems are disguised as (very believable) rocks to maintain the illusion of nature, but I won't as there is more to a hotel than simply looking incredible (which this one does in spades). The hotel is under the final touches of construction while we were there, but this didn't affect our stay in any way. The widely touted michelin star chef restaurant was yet to open, but the restaurant Citron that we dined at was a highlight of our entire trip. There's a bevy of additional sporting and relaxing activities to undertake which we unfortunately missed out on due to unforeseen circumstances (we were literally too amazed by our room to take proper account of the time). Occasionally I had trouble making myself understood in English to some of the staff. Admittedly this may be because my jaw was dropped most of the time by the scenery. So to sum up, amazing views, incredible rooms, delicious meals, fantastic atmosphere, occasionally difficult communication. Oh and they provide what are literally the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. Walking in them felt like sunny clouds of sugar and magic constantly caressing my feet.
AMAZING hotel in a lush surrounding”
The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, is located away from the other main hotel area of Danang. It is surrounded by lush hills and sometimes an alluring mist of low cloud. It is peaceful and relaxing. The children thoroughly enjoyed the kids club, and the staff who watched over them. The rooms were large and well equipped. No expense has been spared in building this hotel. It is truly a must try location. We will definitely return.
Heaven on Earth”
Intercontinental Danang was Paradise. It is the best beach resort I've been in Asia. All the rooms are located quite far from the restaurants or lobby, you'd need a buggy to get to to your room, but this makes it quite exclusive, yes? The service at the resort was spectacular. Everyone had a ready smile, no matter where you went. I loved the beach staff - 2 tanned gentlemen who would get you towels and cold water when you swing by the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff! I loved my daily breakfast at Citron. Wide spread of buffet and my pho was so flavourful! It was way tastier than the one I had in Hanoi. The view of the sea was breaktaking. We spent a lot of time lounging in the room, watching tv and doing yoga in the huge balcony. Loved every bit of my time at Intercontinental Danang! I can only think of 1 con: Although you get a nice view of the sea, the resort doesn't face the sun so you don't get sunrise/sunset views.
I have had the opportunity of staying at 5-star hotels & resorts in various locations, & I must say that the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is the best one of all! Although it's a very large, top-notch luxurious establishment, you still get a warm & cosy atmosphere throughout the property.
Proudly Awesome Wonder in Vietnam”
Perfect combination between imaginative nature & unique talent has been invented at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsule Resort. I had opportunities to experience many top resorts around the World to absolutely agree that people will admire this resort unconditionally. I am fully satisfied from the first step coming into resort reception till unique departure lounge time at the airport. One improvable point is the staff at Citron restaurant (should be faster & more profecssionally)
The highlight of my Vietnam trip!”
InterContinental Danang was absolutely gorgeous! The photos online does it no justice. I was surprised to find the room much much larger than I expected with a huge balcony, as big as some hotel rooms that I've recently stayed at. The bathroom was huge also with a great big bathtub with bath salt (perfect for the lovebirds) and high quality toiletry. The staff all spoke English and were very professional and tried to cater to your even needs. The buffet is very nice for breakfast, lunch and dinner and don't forget to try La Maison 1888. Overall, this resort gets A++++.
Beyond my wildest expectations. We booked a suite on Sky level, not cheap but not ridiculous either. The luxury overwhelmed us. I have travelled a lot and this was the best room I have ever had, period. We were relaxed and felt indulged. Only downsides were room service breakfast was ordinary and the pool area is small for the size of the resort and has very few guest lounges. We were invited to the GM cocktail party and to our surprise, on leaving, were greeted at the Da Nang Airport by a hotel representative, guided through security and shown to a divine intercontinental private lounge for free food and drinks while we waited for our flight to Ho Chi Minh. This resort is not dear nor cheap. It makes the average person feel something special. I recommend highly.
One of the best resort very stunning and beautiful”
This is stunning new resort in Danang. I first saw this resort piture in internet and I just had to go there. All the resort buildings and every little furnitures and even little props are all so stunning and you can see that they've put a lot of work in the resort's design. Rooms are very spacey and nice. I've travelled to many places in the world and this was one of the best resorts I've been to. Of course there are cons. The only thing that I didn't like was that staffs were a bit slow in this resort. It was first thing that it was a bit hard to communicate with resort staffs in English, but it was a bit annoying when staffs were not promptly reacting to the requests. I asked reception to connect us to Spa reception but once it got disconnected. and I called again but they said spa reception line is busy and they'll advise spa reception to call us back but they never did, so I had to call again and no answer so I just literally walked to spa reception myself. Staffs are little slow and a bit unhelpful. But I think this is just one of the things that new resorts have to go through. Educating the staffs. Other than that this resort is perfect. Beautiful, good food, perfect for relaxing. I'll definitely revisit Danang Intercontinental.
Best resort experience”
The resort is locate at a Núi Sơn Trà where is 20 minutes from down town of Da Nang, so if you decide to stay at the hotel, better plan for 2 whole days in the resort to enjoy the facilities and view, the view at the room and the club lounge is unbelievable beautiful, and the beach is also great either. The staff is outstanding, my girlfriend get a little injure when she plays windsurfing, the medical helps a lot, and the staff on lounge, reception, housekeeping are all notice about the wound and really helpful. The food and cocktails at barefoot restaurant, long bar and club lounge is great, but the breakfast on Citron restaurant is not really good. Overall it worth every dollar you spend on the resort, especially the club benefit, it will provide the best view and convenience in the resort, but if you plan to pay for the upgrade, better get it when you booking the rooms, otherwise the price will be higher.
Top of my list”
my husband and i have spent the last 7 years holidaying in asia and this resort would have to be the most luxurious we have ever stayed in. our usual standard is 4-5 star places and we have tried a few. the view from the reception area when you check in is out of this world and it only gets better from there. as the resort is so spread out on a hillside you can either take the buggy to your room or ride the nam tram (cable car) down to your level and then walk. all rooms have a spectacular view of the ocean, they are spacious with all the mod cons like ipod docking station, stereo, free movies, music, 72 channel tv, double basins in the bathroom, rain shower plus hand held shower, tub bath, his and hers bathroom pack including mouth wash, toothbrush etc etc. the bathroom amenities are all haahn brand (maybe i spelt it wrong) but i know you can buy this brand is australia and it is expensive. there are two pools, one has a children's pool beside the main one and the larger pool(situated above the long bar) is for adults only with huge double daybed type lounges to ly on. breakfast in citrone restaurant on top of the hill was fantastic - everything you could wish for along with a cook to order egg station. the weather at this time of the year is relatively good so we booked an outside table each morning. these are usually first to go. the only negative would be if you are looking to be close to shops etc you would have to take a 30 minute drive to danang or 1 hour to hoi an to do any shopping. quite frankly we did not like danang but found hoi an a nice place to stop for about 4 hours. worth doing this as a day trip - the hotel has a free shuttle twice a day and there are always taxis available - cost would be around $30-$40 one way. the old quarter has lots of souvenir type stores and cafes. although some of the staff may have limited english, they will try to converse with you and don't mind being corrected. try to speak vietnamese if you are game!
MUST go if you visit Da Nang. Expensive but worth it. ”
I stayed here for 2 nights, which I think is sufficient to enjoy the facilities. When I first arrived at the reception, I was already shocked by how beautiful the place was. Absolutely spectacular views! You will be in awe around every corner you go in the resort. No photo alone can capture that amazing vibe, have to visit yourself. Located in a remote area by itself - very private - which also makes everything super expensive inside (e.g. spa, drinks, food). Both its Barefoot restaurant and La Maison 1888 restaurant had delicious food and caring staff, despite being quite pricey. I booked its HARNN Heritage Spa for a 150-minute signature treatment. The spa rooms were very nice, and the treatment was relaxing. It felt similar to other spa/massage I've had before, but I think it's worth a try when you're living there. Highly recommend this resort and I will certainly visit if I travel to Da Nang again.
Great gateway in Danang”
If you are looking for a beautiful and secluded resort Danang Intercontinental is a great place to stay. The resort is located in a natural reserve with its own private and quiet beach. We were travelling with our 2 young boys who enjoyed very much the golf carts used within the resort. There is also plenty to do for the kids between the pool, all the beach equipments (Kayak, standing paddle...), the kid's room and even a in-house cinema.
Impressed with attention and kindness of staff”
Used many InterContinental hotels. Staff in Danang Sun Peninsula best: kind, ready-to-serve, and delicat itself. Thank you!
Nicely designed huge resort with lots of privacy”
My boyfriend and I both loved this hotel! We got the King Room with ocean view and we were totally mesmerized by the spectacular ocean view. Room was huge, bed was super comfy and bathroom has 2 sinks so we didn't have to fight over it. The resort is situated by the mountain and its pretty secluded so we got lots of privacy. Private beach was private indeed unlike those crowded ones in some popular resorts. Food was great! We didn't even have to go out to dine during our 2 nights stay. Spa was great with experienced and friendly staff and reasonably priced. We wished we can stay there for another 2-3 days in order for us to enjoy more of Da Nang. Highly recommended!
Amazing Resort! All staffs are so nice & helpful”
First of all, I need to say big thanks to all staffs at this Resort! They are all helpful from the Reception ( Ms Hanh & Ms Vuong ), the House Keeping, Mr Tien at the swimming Pool ( who took many nice pics for us). The Room is very big and comfortable with full amenities ! They even upgraded the Room Type for us! Really appreciate with that from my heart Thanks again Intercon Peninsula Danang What a memorable stay!

Perfect location and service”
The best hotel to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature of Da Nang. Especially, the sea in the private beach is so transparent and totally differ the from the other beachs in Da Nang. The staffs are well trained and have a lot of hospitality. Ms.Kim who speaks Japanese fluently is so friendly and can be a perfect concierge for Japanese and Korean tourists. Also,at the airport, some staffs, Ms.Anh, Ms.Nhi, and Mr.Hien kindly took care of me for departure. If you want a perfect stay in Dang, I strongly recommend this hotel.
Magnificent view with fabulous services!”
from the moment our taxi entered the compound of the resort, we were already being impressed with many of the intricate details. the welcome services provided by the staffs were detailed, warm and friendly. the view from citron which is the the breakfast place is just magnificent! the resort even have a tram which they call "nam tram" to move guests from top/bottom/top in this hilly resort. buggy services are always prompt even though the rooms in this resort are spread apart. all the staffs are very enthusiastic and really take the effort to communicate with the guests in english. the enthusiasm probably stem from the fact that most of them are from danang area and probably very proud to be the little ambassadors of their home town. the resort is still very new (6 months) and one can see constructions are still going on. really love the rain shower area and the marble bath tub. overall the experiences and impressions provided by the resort and its staffs are probably the best we ever experienced. we are very impressed!
secluded luxury at its best”
This is one of the luxurious resorts I have every been too. Though it is far from the main town (45 minutes drive on a relatively winding road uphill), this resort truly takes my breath away. It was about 75% done up during our stay as they are still constructing some parts of the resort as well as the spa. The temporary spa area is located in the resort rooms. The bedroom decor is truly lovely with a black, white and yellow theme. The bathroom is to die for, as it is totally laid out with wooden floorings and a humongous marble deep tub. This resort also has a turndown service where the housekeepers will fluff up the bed and pillows, flip over the duvet and turn on the aromatheraphy burner. The lemongrass scent is enough to lull you to bed in no time. Due to the sheer size of the resort however, requires you to take the buggy to every place you would like to go in the resort; for instance, the pool, the Citron restaurant, the reception lobby, spa etc. It is a hassle to have to keep calling the buggy drivers to pick you up from the room to visit various places in the resort. The pools deserve a mention too. The infinity long pool is wonderful with the very comfortable lounging chair beds where the helpful staff will lay out fluffy fresh towels for you. If you fancy a totally relaxing and calming vacation, this is the one resort you have to go to in Danang. The cool weather (due to the high altitude) and beautiful surroundings along with excellent amenities and service will melt all you stress away :)
Excellent Resort and facilities but... ”
The InterContinental Danang has very good facilities and the views are breath-taking. The hotel staff were excellent and really made a difference to our stay! Two thumbs up!! Our only issue was with the food; the quality of ingredients was decent but the cooking at quite a few restaurants was only mediocre. A very good experience overall.
One of the best hotels in Asia”
despite limited activities in danang city, we fall in love with intercon danang. the resort is beautifully designed and properly managed. the staff are friendly and speak decent english. the daily shuttle bus to danang and hoi an is very convenient for tourists. the resort is located in the pennisula with no hotels or buildings nearby, which makes the resort very elusive.
