Fantastic hotel, great location”

Good location, breakfast, enjoyable room

We stayed in Hong Kong for the last three nights of our vacation, and wanted quality from our last stop. We were not disappointed to choose InterContinental Grand Stanford. We got a room from the highest floor with a river view. The room was spacious enough with lots of light from the windows, plenty of storage space for our clothes and well equipped with an espresso machine and water boiler. The bathroom was smallish but the amount of light there compensated for the size, and it was sparkling clean with an inviting bathtub. The beds were very big and comfortable and we woke up every morning feeling fresh and well-slept. The location of the hotel is just fantastic. There is a metro station nearby (one or two blocks away) which provides an easy access around Hong Kong. The riverside walking avenue which leads all the way to the big shopping areas is right next to the hotel. There is also a free shuttle service to the Harbour City Mall and to the Airport Express train (which we, by the way, also recommend). There's a grocery store, pharmacy, and many cafes and restaurants just around the same piazza where the hotel is located so everything you need is right there. The staff was very helpful and attentive. One day we forgot the "do not disturb" light on, and the housekeeper had slipped us two notes under our door and also a phone message as to when it would be possible to make up our room. The lobby staff was always ready to answer our questions. At the breakfast there was lots to choose from, everything you can expect from a five star hotel, and everything was also fresh. Nothing was either missing when we one morning arrived to breakfast towards the ending time. We loved our stay in this hotel and would come back again. We truly recommend this hotel for those who appreciate quality for their money!

Stunning harbour view from luxurious room.”

Location, service, breakfast!

At the end of a 4 week swing through Hong Kong, Laos, Vietnam, China, Australia and Hong Kong - again - wanted something special. And the Intercontinental Grand Stanford was it. We resisted the temptation to upgrade to a suite and wisely, oor room already had a stunning view through picture window and more space than we needed. We did buy a package that included breakfast and wi-fi. The breakfast was excellent, could have eaten for hours, but it worked out at £22 each if you discount the cost of the wi-fi (and a hotel at this price shouldn't be charging for wi-fi - this one charges per computer, not per room!) The staff were professional and helpful, great rooftop swimming pool, this is a place one would go to again.

5 star hotel with great service recovery”

Staff, Efficiency, Location

First of all, I didnt get to stay at Intercontinental Grand Stanford Hotel unfortunately due to blackout of the hotel before check in. Because of that, the hotel staff- Stephanie was very professional and efficient and was arranging a transfer of hotel for us to Hyatt Regency which was also around the area. The transfer was relatively smooth and we were really appreciative that Stephanie was able to assist us to get our rooms at Hyatt Regency. It was a shame that we didnt get a chance to experience the full Intercontinental Grand Stanford but we will definitely be back in Hong Kong again and we would love to stay at Intercontinental Grand Stanford then. Once again, thank you!

Hidden value ”

*Large room *Nice 42 inch flat screen TV, good bathroom, free upgrade to harbour view room *Excellent king size bed, extremely comfortable *Nice rooftop swimming pool *Nice view of Hong Kong harbour
*Hotel gym a bit small *Swimming pool locker room a bit small *Hotel lobby in need of renovation, hotel seems relatively old

Excellent value oriented hotel if you dont mind slight walk to subway station. About 15 minute walk to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station. I found the room to be large and roomy. Good bathroom. Ample size. Kudos to the extremely comfortable king size bed. Hotel installed new 42 inch flat screen TV in its rooms. Harbour view is excellent and enjoyed rooftop swimming pool. For travelers who want deep hidden value in a hotel with ample room and low cost but dont mind walking some distance, excellent hotel choice for Hong Kong. Would stay here again.

Top class experience”

The staff

We had a top class experience at this hotel for a quite reasonable price, having booked through Agoda. The staff were quite wonderful, unfailingly courteous and helpful and always smiling and friendly. The rooms were very nice, with plenty of space and all the amenities. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and luxurious. When we were there they were offering access to their club lounge for an extra $750HK per room a day. This was great value, providing huge breakfasts, afternoon tea and an evening happy 'hour' from 6 to 8:30 with excellent wines beer and spirits and generous snacks. Coffee and soft drinks were airways available. We liked the location in East Tsim Sha Tsui, as it was a little less crowded than places nearer the Star Ferry. All in all it was a very pampered, decadent experience

“Peaceful Night””

great harbour view

Hong Kong can be a noisy city in which to sleep, but InterContinental Grand Stanford delivered a peaceful night in a modern and comfortable room. Check-in and check-out were fast and smooth. I was given a room described as renovated. It was certainly newly decorated, and well equipped with furniture and fittings. The desk was great, the chair was better than many I've used, and working in this hotel was easy. The wardrobe held a good sized ironing board and an iron in good condition, so I was quickly able to prepare my clothes for the next day. I slept well in a comfortable bed, with pillows that matched my preference. The bathroom is well equipped, but small, and the shower is over the bath. It wasn't a problem for me, but if you like separate showers this may be a negative point for the hotel. The best thing about the room was its silence. I heard no noise from adjacent rooms, no noise from the corridor, and (amazingly, for HK) no noise from outside. I'll choose this hotel again.

clean and luxury room and good service

although this hotel is a little bit far from the tsim sha tsui stn and the centre of kowloon side, it's worth while staying, especially in the ocean-view rooms. the quality of staff services are very high and the facilities are very clean. of course rooms are very tidy. for the people coming back from shenzhen areas by train, i'd recommend to stay here, because this hotel is just 5 minutes walk from east tsim sha tsui station. good to stay for business travellers.

Nice Hotel”

The hotel offered a large room with a very comfortable bed, a good location in Kowloon, and a friendly staff.
This stay was my second one at this hotel, and I noticed no weaknesses.

The Intercontinental Hotel Grand Stanford is an exceptionally wonderful hotel for visitors to Hong Kong. The location is superb if you are staying in the Kowloon area. The hotel services are available to help you find anywhere you would like to go. The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable. The bathroom is luxurious. I have stayed here twice and would certainly enjoy staying here again.

Still a Classy Joint”

Class, character, wood, marble, mirrors, views. Five star ambiance

Where so many Hong Kong hotels are sleek and modern, the Grand Stanford is sleek and full of character. The lobby is sweeping but warm and always buzzing. The rooms are full of wood paneling, the bedding is the best, the harbor view takes the place of the fourth wall and can be seen while reclining in your super comfy bed. Character and class, GS has it in abundance. Love the place, will be back. Oh and service is exactly what you'd expect at a classy joint.

It was a very pleasant stay, we took the airport free shuttle to/from the airport from/to Kowloon MTR which is very convenient, and also very close walk to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR, very nice view to the river and city on the background, very near to restaurants (although we're a bit sad that the famous dim sum restaurant nearby was fully booked so if you're planning on going to dim sum restaurant, ask the concierge to book for you one or two days in advance), very friendly staffs, room is very spacious and love the bed! :) Nothing I could ask for more really (maybe free wi fi ha ha)! Good hotel for business in Kowloon”

Good service and location

We stayed for five nights including over a weekend. The staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood has many hotels and so transportation (East Tsim Sha Tsui station is a short walk away), shopping and travel is very convenient. The breakfast buffet is standard hotel fare but of decent quality. We wish the hotel would throw in free Wifi regardless of the package booked but we had to buy ours. We did not think it was too expensive (we were connecting smart phones, a computer and also an I-pad) but leisure travellers may find it a bother.

Comfortable and quiet”

Pillow menu, buffet breakfast and close to MTR

Our four night stay was comfortable and the hotel had all the amenities required for a relaxing stay. Checking in and out was hassle free and done very quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our daughter was even presented with a s teddy bear as a gift upon checking in which was a lovely gesture as it was about 1:30am by the time we had reached the hotel and we were all exhausted. The bedding sizes differ a little to the western bedding system though. The twin doubles that we expected in our rooms were more the size of a generous king single. My daughter and I could fit on one bed but there was no way you would get a couple of average western size on one bed. We pushed the beds together and there was ample room then for the three of us. The other great thing the hotel has to offer is a pillow menu. You will definitely need to make use of this if soft pillows aren't for you. I got a much better sleep the second night after discovering the pillow menu and having the lavender latex pillow brought to the room. Buffet breakfast had a great range and wasn't bad. The cooked western breakfast probably wasn't the best but there was plenty of other things to choose from. When you get into a taxi from the hotel, the doorman provides you with a card with the licence plate of the taxi in case you forget anything in the taxi and need to follow up later on. The card also has "please take me to intercontinental grand Stanford" written in Chinese so that you can show it to the taxi driver to get back. Our room was on a high level but with no real view of the harbour. You could only see a little between the gap between the hotel and the building next door. The room was a good size, clean, comfortable and newly renovated. The design is nice and modern. House keeping make your room each time you leave. If you don't want this to happen, put on your do not disturb light. The hotel was about a 5 minute walk to the entrance of the subway which lead you to the MTR.

This hotel is very good! The staff know english quite well so you won't have a communication problem. This hotel is about 5mins walk to Tsim Sha Tsui MTR train station. Good "Brand Name" shopping across the road from this hotel i.e. Gucci, Chanel, L.V., Armani, Hugo Boss etc etc Rooms decent size with very comfortable beds. There are lots of bars with live music close by too (about 3mins walk). (This is not the place to stay if you want to go to night clubs.) Overall… Good Place to Stay!

Great location. Easily accessible from Nathan road and Kowloon Station. Well located rooms. All amenities provided.

If Tsim Tsa Tsui is your area of operation or work than this hotel meets all your needs. It is located in a hotel area. Got an upgrade and an ocean view room that made the visit more memorable. Highly recommended to business travelers on the run. There is a ferry on the oceanside that takes you directly to Hong Kong Central. Also a subway to connect to all the areas in HK.
