Tranquil hotel life”
I was surprised with great pleasure at the tranquility the hotel is proud of. It is located in the country's capital, Hanoi, where you can't avoid hustles and bustles of people, motorbikes and cars. But you'll feel you're totally away from such noise. Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake Hotel is one of rare hotels located in Vietnam which know what guests really want and what they have to offer to their guests. The quality of service is excellent as all their staff members are well trained.

Wow amazing hotel!”
The Hanoi Intercontinental westlake is truly gorgeous, a sprawling holtel over the west lake with fabulous views and huge well appointed rooms. For the price I dont think you will find a more satifying stay in Hanoi, only around 100,000 dong to the centre of the town with its fabulous restaurants but the food in the intercontinental is amazing but pretty expensive. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in

Good location nice rooms, far from city”
We are together on five person and then came in the hotel around 9 pm. The situation on the lobby at the momment is very busy, because at the same time, a group of people came in also. But when we are at in front of reception, all the proccess are going well and we got the room and key within a minute and the reception itself are very friendly. The room is very good condition and maintain very clean condition every day. Also when we take a breakfast, all the food and all the service in charge, serving us in very friendly and very quick. We are 4 night in Westlake, and the summary, we are very satisfly for all services from Intercontinental Westlake Hanoi.

Just amazing”
This is my second stay at Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake. I still could not believe the quiet, tranquil and romantic atmosphere the hotel offered. It is a "once in a lifetime in Hanoi" experience. Staff were well trained and well mannered. Again, it is not easy to find people in Vietnam who know what services are and provide quality services. If asked whether to stay one more time, I'll surely answer 'yes'.

Lovely hotel, Big comfy room, Sunset Bar.”
We loved our stay at the Intercontinental WestLake Hanoi. After spending a few days in the Old Quarters, the Intercontinental WestLake was a needed refresher from all the traffic and dust in the Old Quarters. The hotel surroundings were so peaceful that we felt like we were transported out of Hanoi. Beautiful view of West Lake and especially from the Sunset Bar. We stayed in the king bed overwater room and it was lovely. Very spacious room, with a great sized bathroom, comfortable linen, pillow menu, private balcony, good size bathtub for 2. It basically met all our "wants" for a hotel room. We also ordered some room service, basically bun cha and spring rolls, and it came fast and more importantly, still hot and not cold. It also tasted good! Service at the front desk was good, and met my expectations of any 5star establishment. Overall, when we re-visit Hanoi again in the future, I would not stay at the hotels in the Old Quarters, but choose the Intercontinental WestLake instead.

A really nice time was had by us both.”
Our stay at Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake was just wonderful. We went to rest and spent most of our time moving between bed and restaurant - eating, sleeping, watching movies and then again. The gym was well equipped and I found it easy to follow my daily fitness routine. Only drawback? The swimming is not good if you like doing laps for exercise. But really, this was an outstanding experience and we will go back again!

Intercontinental -"Hide Away"”
The Intercontinental is a real hideaway because most of the Taxi drivers did not know where it was. We thought it must be new! Having got there without too much fuss, you could feel the taxi driver feeling somewhat surprised and a little ditzy for not knowing. What a great entrance to a lovely and beautiful hotel tucked away from the bust streets of Hanoi. Grand entrance with attentive staff. Check in was simple and easy and lady walked us up to the deluxe room which was worth the extra money. Spacious, clean, modern but with keeping in with Asian decor. Modern Flatscreen T.V's, large King bed, sitting area and a large barthroom. The room had a view of the lake which wraps around the whole complex.Looks great at night but during the day, not so spectacular. It is a very large Hotel with also what they call the "Pavillion" which is another block of rooms built on stilts on the lake facing the amazing pool. Definately spend the extra $20 US for breakfast as they have the biggest range of buffet breakfast that any international travller could eat. If your a coffee buff, The coffee is ok, but not the same in most western countries. They do do latte, cap etc. Prices for Mini Bar and in room dining was medium to high. What you would expect for a genuine 4.5 star hotel. If your not happy with the prices, you can also hop in a cab and go around the old quarter and find somewhere to eat. We did one night, hot, sweaty, busy and not worth saving the extra cash. On the way back, taxi could not find the Hotel even being given the business card. That's ok beacuse it's near the Sheraton which all taxi drivers know. We got back to the sancuary of the hotel! If you like to do abit of excerise on holidays, this has the best facilities in Vietnam. Worth the stay!

Wonderfully relaxing. ”
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake hotel. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable with a generous bathroom. The hotel is a little out of the way from the old quarter (about 15mins by taxi) but there are metered taxis at the hotel ready at all times. But apart from that, I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Would return”
Intercontinental location is quite with very little shops around. Great place to go for a lake walk or have relaxing drink by the bar with a 360 view of the Westlake. We had dinner at all three restaurants without any fault to staff, quality or variety. All excellent. My partner and i are gym junkies so we really enjoyed the air conditioned gym and yoga class. equipment is clean and functional with complimentary bottles of water at every cardio station. Jacuzzi and sauna also available there. Free Wi Fi available in the gym and hotel lobby was perfect for checking flights. The mornings were a little noisy with the sound of the cleaners trolley being pushed on the tiles. We cold hear the room above us getting cleaned as well as foot steps. i am a light sleeper so it effected me more. But other than that it is relatively quite and serene. TV reception quality was not as good as the two hotels we visited prior.

Fantastic Location”
fantastic hotel as is expected from this chain. rooms were locally influenced but had all the usual intercontinental features. location is not great for tourist sites, but given the facilities you could simply stay in the hotel. pool is stunning but its the sunset bar overlooking the west lake that makes this hotel. we had dinner in one night and the food was fantastic. no need for a la carte as the buffet was comparable with the best hotels in hk. however we need to discuss the bread! probably the best home baked bread i have ever had. not sure whether this is the french influence in hanoi but trust me it was brilliant. if your looking for a luxury location in hanoi this is highly rated. its not the metropole which is beautiful. but its a lot cheaper so enjoy!

Good value and alternative to Old Quarter”
The hotel has a resort feel and an amazing view of the Westlake. Our room has nice furnishing and a large bathroom. The staff was very accommodating when we asked for a late check-out at 4pm. It would have been a perfect stay except the quacking sound all night long. A local might be raising ducks or frogs by the street right next to the hotel. Not sure if there’s anything the hotel could do about it but it was difficult to sleep with the noise. Ask for a pool/Westlake facing room. The location can be pros and cons depending on what you want. We stayed at the Intercontinental at the beginning of our trip and then at the Sofitel Metropole in the Old Quarter at the end of our trip. This arrangement gave us a chance to experience both areas. If you are taking a tour (we did the Food on Foot lunch tour), it’s probably better to stay in the Westlake area as you pay less for the hotel, get more room and it’s likely to be more quieter. If you plan to wander around in the Old Quarter, staying in the area is definitely more convenient.

Great place and a superb service”
The staff were very accomodating. We asked to be transferred to get an amazing view and they delivered. (Remember to request for a front view, however, if you like to observe the locals fishing, the back part is a good spot) It was very quiet and the feel of sitting at the balcony with the lapping water underneath us gave us the exact reason why we chose intercontinental- to unwind and feel like we are outside Hanoi without the need to travel far. I was totally surprised when I received a birthday cake delivered to our room- they totally made my day! Staff- accomodating, courteous and they speak English very well. We also noted that they have korean speaking staff. Pool- 7am-7pm. clean, does not smell of too much chlorine. I just hope they have another shallower one- the kid's pool was too shallow and the other was a bit deep for me at 1,76. Gym- open and trainer is available until 11 pm. Dinner buffet- pricey at 999, but worth it. Many choices including unlimited lamb chops and lobster(request from the waiter) drinks not included in the price. Breakfast- they have cold cuts, bread and cereal for those who prefer cold and warm soup and rice for those who prefer warm food. Beds- the pillows are extra soft(there is a pillow menu - choose from water to rattan pillow. Extra- the staff claps to get a taxi which is amusing for me. One can apply for an IHG rewards club free of charge.(15% discount )

A bit of luxury in the bustling city of Hanoi”
We loved our stayed at the Intercontinental. We stayed here over Christmas and the staff did everything they could to help us and make sure we enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The whole hotel feels very luxurious and has plenty going on so we didn't need to leave. We upgraded to a club room which was very worthwhile as you get access to the club lounge entitling you to free drinks (soft, wine, cocktails etc), breakfast, afternoon tea and snacks in the evening so you can definitely get your moneys worth. The hotel is slightly away from the centre of Hanoi so you would need to get a taxi or shuttle bus to get there if that's what you are after, but there are a few restaurants and bars in walking distance if you're not fussed about going into the centre of town. Overall I would absolutely recommend this hotel, we had an amazing Christmas there.

Fantastic service”
The staff at Intercontinental Westlake were excellent, from check in, to meal service, club lounge and check out...I thought the staff at Metropole Hanoi were the best but I think the staff here might even be better!

Superb lakeside hotel”
we had a wonderful three night stay at this new hotel. The check in and out was fast and the staff were excellent. We were transferred to our rooms on a buggy with our luggages. The rooms were large and connected. Our rooms were over the water of the westlake and the views were pretty amazing. Breakfast spread was excellent with all the local and western food to choose from. We will definitely stay there again if we are in Hanoi.

Excellent especially for the price of the rooms”
My husband and I had a fabulous two days at the Intercontinental Hotel in Hanoi. We were originally at a hotel in the center of the city, but the noise drove us to move to the Intercontinental, and we were very pleased with our choice. We had a wonderful view of the lake. I would definitely recommend spending a bit more money for Club access. They had a even buffet and drinks that was well worth the money.

Luxurious, go for a room with a view of the lake!”
Visited here on the last night of our 3-week honeymoon travelling Vietnam. The staff delivered a card and a chocolate fondue to our room as a gift! Friendly and helpful staff, excellent English. Had a room with an amazing room across the lake. Fantastic bathroom with great toiletries, although the hot water wasn't really hot enough. Huge room. Not the best location as it isn't really in the city centre, but a short (and cheap) taxi ride to the sight and sounds of Hanoi. Breakfast was immense and hugely varied, but still very tasty: you won't be disappointed. Choice of several restaurants and bars, although they are significantly more expensive than other hotels I visited. Great cocktail menu. TOP TIP: register for Intercontinental Rewards, as this gives free Wifi and late check-out.

Great hotel by the lake ”
The design of Hanoi Westlake is very extraordinary, as it is built on top of the lake. Everything worked well and we find the whole staff very helpful and spoke english well. We travelled with our 4 months old son, and a baby cot was immediately set up when we asked for it. Pay some extra to get the club lounge access, it was really worth it. We have experienced many club lounges in Vietnam, and this was one of the very good ones.

Grand and Luxorious hoetl”
Service at Intercontinental Hanoi was excellent. The staff were well-mannered and polite. THe hotel was luxorious and grand. Very fine hotel. However, it was not near to the city-old quarters. Approximately 15mins by cab. Highly reccomended for couples who want to relax at a nice hotel with a excellent lakeview, yet quiet and peaceful at night.
