Nice Hotel”
As with everything in Malta, Intercontinental is in a central location. The hotel is clean, has several dining options, nice pools, strong wifi and friendly staff. The room was comfortable as was the bed, nice bathroom with a bathtub. Right across the road from Bay Steet Mall If you like the Paceville area with the nightclubs and bars, Intercontinental would be highly recommended
Great location”
I really had a great time in Malta and staying in Intercontinental helped. The location was perfect with good connection to other cities in Malta. It was near the bus stop, shops, restaurants, and near the beach (even though I could not swim as it was still cold). The room was very spacious (I had 2 double beds in my room even if I was alone!). I was really impressed with the room. The staff was friendly and always greeted me with a smile. I will definitely come back to Malta and stay here again.
Stripclubs within 50m if you need them....”
Little worn off old Intercontinental near nigh life in Paceville and few steps away from adult entertainment. In the room cant connect your laptop to the TV to watch Netflix, one needs to pay redicilous prices for movies via Hotel Movie system, almost same price as next door full screen cinema….
The hotel was in an ideal position, ”
this hotel offered many services, which we found to be helpful. i would suggest however, that when you book, to make sure that you book a room that also includes the breakfast deal, otherwise it is very expensive to eat at the buffet breakfast, for the two of us, for one sitting at the buffet cost approx $ australian. there is also a charge of 4 euro's for ice, you cannot put anything into the hotel fridge, so ice is a requirement to keep things cool in the heat of the days in malta
Well located”
This is a big, busy and impersonal hotel. It is however well located in the St Julian's District. Those wanting to spend more time in Valetta might be better to stay there. There is a regular bus service that goes there that takes about 20 to 30 minutes. There is a vibrant nightlife in the St Julian district for young people. People should take care when booking a room in this hotel : Rooms 1410 - 1414 have good views BUT are directly beneath the Club Lounge. This lounge has tiled floor and is very noisy. Many rooms have no view but look out on to a wall, run down buildings or the street. This hotel is very busy with business conferences. Guests are very mixed.
Not an ideal location, poor service”
I have stay in INtercontinental in Hong Kong, visited the ones in Singapore and Sydney, this is nothing like that- 1.concierge who seems like he care but he don't unless he gets to sell you a tour of some sort, 2. Front Concierge that is quite useless as I ordered a Taxi, but they forgot about it, I waited 20 minutes after they told me to sit at the lounge and wait, though I kept seeing empty taxi pass by the front door, I have to go grab one myself at the end of 20 minutes, because I am late for airport if i keep waiting. Bad communication. 3. Bad and not a relaxing location :Unless you are teenagers who just wanted to get drunk, this hotel is badly situtated at the heart of drunkeness and noise. Definately the worse I have seen among all Intercontinental. 4. Even thought the hotel is only 10 years old built in 2004, the building and facilities looks aged. I strongly suggest to stay else where, if you want to stay with big hotel chain there are many others that is better located and well built. Those are what i would choose next time i visit Malta.
Great Hotel”
Really centrally located for everything. The hotel is large, so it's definitely not a boutique experience. Having said that breakfast time was civilized and the selection was amazing - the staff couldn't do enough for you! Trying to get a lounger later on in the day not so civilized, so you do have to get there early especially in the month of July. If you're a gym bunny, the gym is AMAZING. Better than my own one at home, so we did go a few times. Most rooms have balconies which is nice! We got a really good deal, would highly recommend.
8 day stay”
The hotel is really 2 parts - the old north side (9 floors) and new south side (19 Floors). The 2 are quite different. We were first shown into a rather dingy room on the 3rd floor looking directly onto a construction site. I declined this room. After some shuffling around we were given a nice slightly larger room looking onto the quad garden. Subsequently I discovered being higher-up in the right location gives seaviews. I was disappointed our deal did not include breakfast. I felt the hotel restaurants lacked variety. The small hotel beach was somewhat contrived and very touristy. On the other hand the pool decks are really nice and the staff overall were very friendly.
Exceptional”
Staff is very helpful and friendly, hotel is good, but it does nit have the beach in its territory, you need to go there via street. Hotel is old, smells humidity in the rooms. Inside pool is good. Restaurant is overpriced .
Excellent ”
Lovely hotel in busy nightlife area, big rooms, comfy beds, great outdoor pool area.. also has private beach 100 metres from hotel..friendly helpful staff. good breakfast selection
Very expensive for 5 star hotel which gives you 3 star experience. ”
Room view to a roof with a machines making a lo t of noise. Moved to Wes in dragonara and fell in love. Don't go intercontinental, will never go to this company again.
It was excellent especially the staff”
I was really impressed by the service given at the hotel. The staff were so efficient and quick and seemed very well trained. I travel a lot so I can notice a lot of difference to other hotels. The level of service is excellent. I was a bit disappointed as the pillows and bed could have been a little bit more comfortable. On the other side of things the bathroom was comfortable and spacious.
Intercontinental hotel - luxury stay”
I highly recommend staying at this hotel - it is one of the best in the country in all aspects. Staff is very friendly and professional. Great Breakfast Buffet - well worth staying in .
Great location ”
It located in middle of everywhere , the Beach was fine not too big thoug , staff were welcoming only one thing when orientation to the room was made no one mentioned the complementry tea is there and it was hidden by the very end of the disk corner inside the cabinet , and one time I ordered tea from room service and again no one told me about the complementry tea and they charge me for it. However at the day of checkout I discovered it and I brought up on checkout and nothing was done, they just apologised !!
Fantastic Location”
its really confertable and clean. You have your own beach club but drinks are expensive. I have been there for my honeymoon. If you have something to celebarate please write your comment with your booking. Manager is really nice, he sent us a lot of present :)
nice hotel, great location”
they have great gym, good internet. the view is not the best, but the location of the hotel is very good.
Excellent”
The hotel was lovely just in the wrong location .It is set in the middle of all the night life .
Good hotel”
Great hotel, Good breakfast and friendly staff. Also an excellent location.
Room standards are poor, disappointing for Intercontinental, won’t stay again”
Cons: 1) Bedroom - peeling paintwork, non-functioning tv, non-functioning phone, broken tiles on balcony. On one night, the whole section of our floor lost power for about 2 hours. We asked to change rooms and were given one room facing the lifts, needless to say it was very noisy due to guest traffic. 2) Bathroom - Shower floods toilet after use, hairdryer very old and blows weakly. 3) Housekeeping - Inconsistent, some days forgot to give me hand towels, some days forgot to give me face towels. Had to wait an hour after requesting for toothbrushes. 4) Concierge - Recommends cheap tours to islands and tour buses. Would have preferred if they had given us a few options rather than pushing the cheap crowded tours. Pros: 1) Location - Smack in the middle of town with a good selection of restaurants, bars, clubs and shopping. 2) Beach - Hotel has a private beach so no need to fight for deckchairs on public beach. 3) Staff - All are friendly at the hotel and try their best.
good location for bars”
This hotel is getting old but the club rooms are ok. club lounge is open all day with good staff to help. breakfast is better on the main floor compared to the lounge
