One Night Get away”
Its a wonderful property right in front of Marine Drive. Very Helpful staff and good food and a very good rooftop swimming pool. One suggestion is that the property needs to few more amenities like playing area for children with some games. Overall a very good hotel.

Easy Location and Awesome Pool”
Right on Marine Drive, a relatively short walk to Colaba and the train station. Rooftop pool is awesome. Bar is a bit expensive. Rooms and facilities are nice. Did have one issue with brown water briefly coming out a tap. Eek!

Convenient location of you want to over the main tourist spots in South Mumbai and enjoy a good morning walk on Marine drive. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Large clean modern rooms. Breakfast spread was a disappointment though. Avoid the South Indian fare !!

Location, Location, Location”
The Intercontinental Marine Drive is all about the location. The surrounding area is a hub of activity & it is close to the tourist attractions in Colaba. Rooms are large& high tech with large bathrooms. House keeping was great with the staff checking in the evenings if guest need fresh towels and toiletries. While breakfast was sufficient I have enjoyed better breakfasts at cheaper hotels in India and was expecting a bit more for the price. Our booking included 20 minute complementary back massages which were fantastic. The staff were prompt and willing to go out of the way to assist guest with any request. The poolside restaurant on the roof is very popular and worth a try.

Hotel Incontinent ”
We had been in India for a friends wedding and decided to have a nice two night stay in this hotel. We based this on high scores on the review section on Agoda and with the brand that we have stayed in before and trusted. The hotel had upgraded us which was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were great and very comfortable. On the final evening of our stay, we had decided to eat at the Short and Long Bar. After a week of eating vegetarian food, we decided to eat some meat! My wife had Chicken. After eating and having a few drinks, we decided to go up to the Dome bar. After two hours of eating, my wife began to feel very unwell, and went back to our room. My wife then proceeded to be very unwell and began vomitting and had constant diarrhoea. This continued throughout the night and the next day. I mentioned this to the front desk and they gave her some fluid replacement sachets. My wife continued to be ill throughout the last day in Mumbai. We left Mumbai and she proceeded to vomit and have diarrhoea throughout the flight to Hong Kong. We went straight to the doctors when arriving and he confirmed that it was salmonella poisoning as all the symptoms were there and tests showed this. The only place she could have caught this was from the chicken in the hotel. I called the hotel as obviously this is a major worry. I spoke to the duty manager who explained that the food and beverage manager and the hotels main manager would call me within the hour. They didn’t. I proceeded to try and deal with this via phone four more times and no replies from anyone. Salmonella is a very serious issue. One of my major concerns is that there will have been other people who have eaten the same product as my wife but have misdiagnosed this as “Delhi Belly.” The complete and utter lack of caring from the hotel has impacted our entire belief into the Intercontinental brand. This is marketed as one of Mumbai’s finest hotels and therefore Salmonella should be the least of our worries.

Quiet and relaxing week end”
Spent great two nights at a hotel. Nice clean and spacious room with a view of the sea. Attentive staff, fast room service, awesome massage (in the room). Will definitely choose to stay there again if need to be in the Marine Drive area when am in Mumbai next.

Pretty decent stay but hotel is very old; makes it expensive ”
Hotel food was good, stay was comfortable but room facilities and overall hotel was very old. Was only informed when i had a friend with me that I would be charged additional headcount even though my room was booked for a King size which can accomodate 2 pax. I often wonder why there is a bag checking for all guests for everytime I returned to hotel, sometimes without any bag. It is pretty good location to South Mumbai but rather expensive for its stay.

the hotel location is very good. facing the gulf of Mumbai. it is very relaxing to stroll along the beach early morning or late evening. the hotel staff were very courtous. and requests and questions were answered almost instantly. in overall the stay is very pleasant and quiet. can be good for business or for leisure. the coffee shop is very bright with view of the sea. for health concious the health club is small but is suficient to have a good work out.

marine drive, the official name for this road, though rarely used, is: netaji subhash chandra bose road. it was earlier known as sonapur to local marathi people. the highlight of marine drive is the beautiful promenade along the road where many of the citizens take in a breath of fresh air and view the setting sun. the promenade is lined with palm trees. at the northern end of marine drive is chowpatty beach. this is a popular beach famed for its bhel puri (local fast food). many restaurants also line this stretch of the road. further down this road lies walkeshwar, a wealthy neighbourhood of the city, also home to the governor of maharashtra.

Franchised Hotel of the Intercontinental. O'priced”
It is a franchisee of the IHG. Quite small in size. The first impression is that you wouldnt guess that it is an IHG property unless you knew because of the small lobby and restaurants. Check-in took time (45 mins) as we reached before the regular check in time (although I had requested fro early check in while booking). Breakfast has little variety. Rooms were very good and spacious (stayed in sea-view meaning overlooking the Marine drive and the sea nearby). No locks in the bathroom door (stayed in 5th floor). Staff were mixed in behaviour. Some were really helpful and courteous while others were just ok. Food overpriced. Room could be a bit cheaper as well.
