Unbeatable location, warm hospitality.”
The location of InterContinental Wellington made us easy to explore the city within the comfort of well-known and maintained InterContinental brand. The hotel is situated right in front of Wellington Waterfront. There are many choices of foods and bar to explore. The best part is you can walk within a minute or two to get to the iconic Wellington cable car and explore the wonderful Wellington Botanical Garden.

Great Wellington experience”
InterContinental Wellington is wonderful first class hotel which has everything you would expect from InterContinental. All my needs and expectations were met with high class standards. On my mind, this is the best hotel in Wellington now. Wonderful job of all staff members. Special thanks for everyone involved for making my daughter’s birthday celebration unforgettable!

Capital Break”
This is a fabulous hotel, first class service and amenities, despite no minibar. We were upgraded to different room on arrival, very pleasant and courteous staff throughout the hotel. Room was very clean and tidy, with plenty of space to move around in. Bathroom facilities unparalled. Buffet breakfast was very good and plenty to choose from. I paid extra for valet parking which was very good money spent. A truly fantastic time was had in Wellington as the hotel was so handy to all the city's facilities.

You MUST stay here!”
I cannot rate the Intercontinental high enough! The staff are amazingly attentive & thorough in their duties not to forget that their customer service is wonderfully sincere & ultimately “Kiwi” (translation: genuinely friendly, helpful to a fault & always with a smile) The amenities were plush, extremely comfortable & generous. We originally chose to stay at The Intercontinental due to an amazing deal we found online, but we would book again regardless of a deal or discount as our overall experience was 20 out of 10. For a Wellingtonian visiting home for a short stay I was made to feel right at home - Thank you!

A few niggles”
Lovely hotel, right in the middle of Wellington. Room was immaculate and well equipped. Sad to say there were a couple of niggles- there is tihs weird phenomenon throughout NZ (it seems) that there is no free WiFi in rooms- at these prices, and to keep up with everywhere else in the World, NZ hotels really need to sort this out. Using an ethernet cable for an iPad for example, is a non-starter, and most frequent travellers either carry a smartphone or tablet these days. Also we didn't like the "memory foam" style mattress. We had the option to pay extra for a "bed board" (?!) and also a "pillow menu" was available. Neither of these work for me- how are you supposed to know you need either changed until you've tried to sleep on it? Anyway, other than these couple of things it is a very nice hotel operated to a high standard. Thanks.

Best stay in New Zealand!”
Among the best hotels we've stayed in anywhere in the world, and certainly made our trip to Wellington wonderful. Right in the heart of the city center and close to great restaurants. Very close to the ferry terminal as well, making it super easy to check out and head to the south island within minutes. Highly recommended!

Really lovely hotel. Fantastic room with harbour view ”
We only used this hotel because we were passing through Wellington on our way to the ferry to the South Island. It was a great choice. The room was fabulous, and the staff very polite and helpful. Would definitely stay there again. Restaurant was really good too.

Excellent service and location, good facilities”
The Hotel Windsor is a lovely old hotel. The staff is especially good - attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. My room was small, clean, and quiet. The Hotel Windsor is an old grande dame - parts of it are just beautiful - the large lounge where reception is, the large staircase, the dining room, but other parts look like they need updating and renovation, such as some of the hallways and the rooms. Apparently some rooms have safes but mine did not - a surprise for a large-city hotel. The room was very reasonably priced, and the location was superb along with excellent service from the hotel staff. My rate included breakfast, which was delicious, and the service again was very good. All in all, a very good stay but the hotel could be more splendid with renovation. Also, guests should know that some rooms are small.

What you would expect from a luxury hotel but club not good value”
This is everything you would want from a luxury hotel. Staff were impeccable, facilities fantastic, and rooms lovely. My only complaint is that the club option isn't really worth the hike in price. At other club hotels we have enjoyed a little more freedom with the perks (afternoon tea and twilight drinks). We stayed one night and as we had a late flight home the next day we asked for club access the day after our night and unfortunately were denied which was a shame as this has been no problem in other club hotels.

Most outstanding Hotel experience in years”
The service we experienced at this Hotel was the most outstanding we have experienced in a Hotel in probably 20 years and we have stayed in a lot of hotels. The staff were as good as if not better than what we have experienced in 6 Star Hotels. The three girls in the Club Room in the evenings were not only exceptionally well groomed and professional in their work they went out of their way to treat each quest as if they were a VIP. The meal we had in the Restaurant was brilliant and on our last night we ordered in Room Service - fast, fresh, hot and well presented (a real treat). Well done to everyone at this Hotel, you made our stay very memorable. We will definitely return.

Good location for shopping but rooms are tired”
We have stayed in Wellington a number of times and usually choose the Amora (previously the Duxton). We decided to try the Intercontinental for something different. While the hotel is right in the central shopping district and close to the harbour front, the rooms are very old and dark. If you are looking for value for money as well as the 5 star experience the Amora is still my choice.

Fantastic place to stay”
The whole experience for our short stay was excellent. The hotel staff was very pleasant during checkin and they contacted us as soon as the room was available, which was about an hour before the guaranteed time. The location of the hotel Is very handy with the shops and supermarket very close by. The facility of the room was very up to date with lovely clean and modern bathroom, great lighting (incl night light option, which I think is very sensible), a couch, a coffee machine and to top it off there were my favorite TWG tea. Will definitely stay here again.

5 star standard”
This hotel is smack bang in the city centre. It is a real 5 Star hotel, unlike so many other hotels in New Zealand claiming 5 star standard. The rooms were of very good standard, the beds very comfortable and everything was just as you would expect it of a 5 star hotel. Only drawback, but this seems to be a Kiwi problem, is that they charge EXTRA for internet. Despite Agoda advertising it with free wifi.

Great concierges”
Concierges were excellent ambassadors for the hotel. Very helpful. Only slight annoyance was being offered a very expensive upgrade when we checked in. We weren’t there to look out of the window. If the room is free, just give the upgrade. That’s what everyone else does. Did I mention the great concierges though?

Beautiful Hotel”
Lived in Wellingtonians all my life but had never stayed at this hotel. Had a function at Shed 5 so decided to stay in town for night. Got a great rate on Agoda which included breakfast so decided to spoil ourselves. We were upgraded to a harbour view room and it was very spacious. Bed very comfortable and amenities great. Breakfast was delicious. Also staff member who checked us in was lovely - they were having trouble with their computer system and he was very apologetic. Then because of the inconvenience he upgraded our room! Great!!
