We were lucky to book through agoda the cheapest room, but on arrival it occured, that our room is occupied. So they gave us a room with aircon and our own shower, that was very kind of them. They had free wifi and the speed was okay. Also small bonus is hot water and drinking water doenstairs, near reception, so you can make coffe and take some water with you. Location s nice - near 15 minutes walking to Thai embassy. Staff is friendly and speaks English. Were happy to stay here.

Cannot Argue The Value Chindmay Offers”

Helpful Staff, A/C Option, Optimal Value

Wonderful for folks visiting Vientiane on a budget. As long as you can climb some stairs and get to the room everything is just as advertised. Our room was on the top floor (4) with a cool view below, although it was a bit noisy at times cutting off around midnight due to the bar across the way. The sound doesn't carry on the street but it does to the guest house. The room had A/C, TV and a fully functioning bathroom with a warm shower. Food/dining doesn't apply here so much since there's no restaurant attached & no breakfast provided. There is however a convenient mini-mart right next door in addition to one of the more popular Vientiane tourist restaurants "Ray's Grille". Chindmay gets the job done for a couple nights in the capital of Laos.

    Good value and SAFE environment!”

Convenient location. Clean rooms. Nice staff.

Our stay was good. This is my second time staying here..the first time was alone. The reason i chose to return was mainly because of the staff. As any solo female traveler can relate to..it can be challenging to feel safe in some of these cheaper guesthouses HOWEVER that was NEVER the case at Chindamay! The staff of guys here are very sweet and very helpful especially Phet! The rooms are clean and you have a private bathroom (the good kind where the whole floor doesnt get wet after a shower!). Free Water and coffee and hot water to make your own tea. Walking distance to all the good stuff.

HONESTLY..i was so pleasantly surprised. private room w/private bath and for such a low price...the most important thing for me is cleanliness which you often miss when backpacking..so i was so glad to arrive to my tidy little room and SPOTLESS bathroom. i will say the water pressure in the shower is super low..but it does get HOT ;)

Just OK for a night's stay”

    Friendly staff

The exterior of the guesthouse looks good, although the rooms still leaves a lot to be desired. On a whole, the room is quite clean. Wifi barely works in the room but is very fast if you go outside. The mattress is thin and you can actually feel the springs begging for life trying to escape from the bed, and it creaks each time you move on the bed. The water pressure is poor. However, for it's price you couldn't ask for more. The staff are friendly and the check in & out process is pretty quick. Our bathroom light wasn't working when we got in & the staff obligingly helped us to replace it, by getting a bulb from an existing light in the lobby, which I felt was rather amusing :P

Horrible! I've booked 3 rooms here. The Fan room only (no air conditioner). However, the room had no windows or vents, only tiny doorway on high and was covered again. Close to centre

The guesthouse itself is very basic but its reasonable value for Vientiane. My fan room had a bed and a wooden chair and that was it. As to be expected with accommodation in this range it has no elevator, no TV and no wifi. Rooms were clean enough though, although don't expect hot water. The fan was noisy so I had to switch it off in order to sleep. Located near the centre and riverside.

    a quiet place

if you're just looking for a cheap place to stay, chindamay gh is definately a good choice. it's quiet and clean but some rooms are on higher level which mean you have to climb. mine was on the 4th floor!!

    Ok if on a budget”

    Price, room size

met our needs for a clean, air conditioned room when the budget was tight. we were on the fourth floor with narrow staircases, so carrying luggage became a problem. the location is ok so long as a 10 minute walk to the river area is no problem. staff were initially cold in their approach, but later warmed to us.

    Might be better ”

Nice staff, but room was worse. Very basic. Only oné small fan, so it was really hot inside. Weak water pressure. No mosquito nets and there is lots of them. It was raining inside the room by the holes around the window. But bed was comfortable.

Ok for a couple nights ”

Room was ok, not the cleanest. We were on fourth floor, which didn't have its own WiFi, so connection from floor 3 was very weak. Location was good, 5-10 min walk to main restaurant area and riverfront.
