Budget room, 5 mins walking the beach”
Pretty basic place. Gets the job done if you want to stay in the middle of the the action in Boracay. It's situated in a narrow alleyway and you have to ask around to find the place... also the back streets arent included in google maps so you really have to ask where it is - very near Craft's Grocery. Small bathroom. Nice bed and refrigerator. The ceiling fan wasnt working in room 301.
Good location and very polite staff”
Isla Gecko is newly renovated, and you get the value for your money. Located at station 2, the beach is just a few minutes away. It is near the bamboo market where you can buy souvenirs, beach wear and snacks. The grocery, wet market and fastfood chains are also jus ta few blocks away when you walk towards the street. The staff are polite, and very accommodating. They even let us use their printer to print out our boarding passes. Breakfast is a bit pricey at 200pesos, but it was convenient given that you have to walk a blocks far to get to DMall and other restaurants. Though rooms dont have balconies, they have an open area on the 4th floor where guests can hang their wet clothes. Water dispensers are provided in the hallways so all you need is your tumbler or mug. The filter on our AC was quite dirty so it took a while for our room to get cold. Wifi signal was very bad, so I had to use my mobile data. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for it's location and value for money.
The way going to this hotel stinks, the smell is like trash and is not cemented. During our check out there were no staff to assist us in carrying our luggages to the d'mall. We have to carry it all the way because as ive said the road is 1. not cemented, 2. It stinks
Staff was approachable and the location is clean.
Value for money, Good location 2mins walk going to the beach. Staff are nice they always greeted the guest with smile on their face. If you're looking for a budget stay in boracay i absolutely recommend this property. We had a pleasant stay at Isla Gecko Resort.
Loud construction beside my room throughout our stay & missing face towel that did not even existed”
Cons: When we arrived, there was a construction going on the 2nd level beside our room, it was too noisy because of the drilling so we weren’t able to get some rest. Receptionist said that the construction will take 3-4 days daily from 9am-5pm. We weren’t informed prior that there’ll be some repairs during our stay. Also during checkout, they were insisting that housekeeping left a face towel in our room after we had it cleaned on our 2nd day and I had to pay 250 pesos since they won’t let us leave. I told them that it’s impossible that they left a face towel since I remember asking for a “hand towel” because housekeeping only left 4 big towels. Air conditioning in room 204 is also not working properly. Pros: Location is 5-7 minutes walk from the beach and 3-5 mins walk from highway. There are also souvenir shops along the way going to the beach. They also have hot and cold water dispenser in every floor. It’s OK for it’s price minus the loud noise and poor housekeeping
Best for big groups who wants to save money”
This is a great choice if you are travelling with a big group and want to save money. There is a common area where you can get together with friends. Very close to Dmall. You will pass by narrow streets when you walk to the beach with a few open sewers that stink, but Boracay beach is more beautiful from what I remember years ago. Extremely crowded, but still one of the best beaches in the country.
Decent Hotel ”
I would still recommend Isla Gecko for those who are looking for budget yet clean and decent hotel. They have a clean room that has enough space and the important thing is they also have a clean comfort room. I would also commend their staff for allowing me to store my breastmilk (because I am a breastfeeding mom and my little one’s not with me) in their freezer. Thank you for the wonderful stay Isla Gecko! ☺️💕
The staff are friendly, the place is always clean. The room is spacious and suitable for family with young children. It's near Bamboo Market and the beach is just a 2-3 minutes away. There are plenty of small stores and food shops nearby where you can eat home cooked meals at an affordable price.
Worth its price. Great place to stay with your family. ”
The place is 5 minute walk from the white beach and the market. They change toiletries every 2 nights of your stay and they tidy the room completely, including changing the bed sheets, when you request from their staff. Had a great stay with my family.
Worth the Money!”
If it’s your first time in Boracay and has a tight budget this is the best place to stay. Location is near to everything you need. Its worth the price and ill book this place again the next time i visit.
Excellent accommodation with homey and chill ambiance!”
i really love our stay in this place! Location - very near to bamboo market, d'mall, around 5 mins. walk to the beach, has nearby sari sari stores Room - spacious, very clean, and they clean it as per request. Beddings - comfortable, clean and they change the sheets after 2 days, their 1 single and 1 double bed fit our family of 5 pax. Aircon - worked so fine, also they have a ceiling fan that adds up to the coldness of the aircon CR - clean and well maintained, however, we have a hard time in using the bidet coz it quite stiff. Towel, pillows, and linens - smells fresh, white, still in good shape. Staff - they greeted their guest with a smile, the receptionist is well trained and well mannered, housekeepers also do their job very well. The hotel - we are in the room 205, i think the building is up to 5th floor, they have a place to hang your wet clothers, which is a plus for me, there's a sala in outside your room, books, very good connection of internet, a mini bar and resto for breakfast (with a fee). Overall, i'm so satisfied in our stay in Isla Gecko and definitely will book again this hotel if we go back in Boracay. Thank you for welcoming us in your hote. Til next time.
At first, Isla Gecko Resort is a bit hard to find but once you've been there you'll realize that the place is so accessible. The place is near D'Mall. Look for the Palawan Express store. That's you're landmark. There's a small alley there and the first resort you'll see is Fat Jimmy's; you just go straight and you'll find Isla Gecko. The resort is very close to the Bamboo Market (it's the Divisoria of souvenir items in Boracay) and about 5 min walk to the beach. The staff were very friendly and they even allowed us to check-in earlier. Basic amenities were available: wifi, aircon, hot & cold shower, toiletries and towels. Drinking water is available free 24/7. The rooms are very clean too. Would love to stay here again.
I love this hotel”
first off, they were very quick to reply about my inquiries. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Ms. Ely. I love how accomodating and approachable the staff were. Not only that, the room we booked was big enough for 6persons and my family all had a positive feedback which made me so glad bec they're very hard to please. Lastly, i like how it's just 2-3mins away from the beach and you could buy souvenirs along the way. It was a great vacation indeed.
Short stay ”
Even though this hotel is not directly on the beach it is near enough to be very convenient to all things a traveller needs. The staff are very pleasant and we were lucky enough to meet the owner who was a really nice person to chat with.
Near at the beach and Dmall”
Pros. Super near at the beach and Dmall Cons. Aircon is leaking inside and it's not that cold.. The Room Has a lot of mosquitoes i ask to spray baygon but still there's a lot .. Wifi is not working.. The Room that they gave us was in the highest floor and it's quite hard because they don't have elevator and we also have stroller for our daughter, I requested to change to lower floor but they not allowed it.. then hindi talaga abot wifi sa taas, so much better kung ground floor yung piliin nyo.. and the Staff was not friendly esp the gay one he don't have pleasing personality and he's quite annoying! It's a rainy day so i ask him to reserve umbrella for my daughter and he said ok. Then after that when i ask for it he said he give it to other guest and he gave me a super annoying smile!.. Like the hell happy kapa.,Instead of being sorry, But then i like the place Thankyou.
Please improve wifi connection
I chose Isla Gecko after reading the reviews posted on Agoda and I was not disappointed”
The bedroom and bathroom were clean. There was closet space and towels were provided. I noticed the owner was very hands-on. A guard was posted to watch the entrance at night. The aircon broke down but a staff repaired it the next day in less than half an hour. The hostel is just a 5 minute walk from the main road and a stone's throw from D'Mall. Great value for money! And thank you, Miss May from front desk, for helping us with information and directions to the places that we wanted to visit. You're the best!
Good Location, Polite Staff, Poor wifi and ”
Pros: - Nice location- near d mall and 3min walk to the beach - Staff are friendly - Change of towels and room cleaning everyday - Hot and Cold water dispenser available at tye common area Cons: - WIFI was not working during my stay. I needed it for work and placed it on the booking notes months ahead. It would have been good if I was advised before hand that wifi was barely working so I could have made plans. - Even if the room was clean, there were still big mosquitoes. - I suggest you eat somewhere else when staying here. We ate once and omelette and fried egg were too salty. - Room was beside another hostel who always has their lights open. The room was bright all night even with lights off.
The hotel is accessible to the beach and the road. The staff are courteous and accommodating. However, I wish it was cheaper. I will book again here once I return to Boracay.
