misled
I may not have looked carefully enough. I thought I was getting a 5star hotel room. It was like an apartment for university students. Nothing in the bathroom except one little cake of soap. The pool heater was broken and the spa filthy.

No towels? Really?
I was shocked upon check-in to be advised there are no hand towels or wash cloths provided, only bath towels. I've never heard of such a thing in all my travels world-wide. Pretty disappointing for an Oaks-owned facility. There was also no toiletries provided (shampoo, body wash, etc). When the wind blew, the pipes under the kitchen sick rattled and whistles something crazy, was louder than my TV. Very annoying.

Value for money
The layout of the room is not ideal with a long corridor. The water pressure of the shower is weak, which definitely needs to be fixed. The TV signal is not stable and that really affected my mood in watching the Olympic. The good thing is that it is very close to Central Market, where you can find a lot of restaurants. The Skyview room did give you skyview for now but I saw some constructions sites in progress nearby. In a few years, the view will not longer be available.

Neat, modern and spacious
My boyfriend and I loved the apartment we stayed in. It was very spacious and clean. The staff however are average, not very friendly or welcoming.

Overall happy, slightly disappointed though...
The carpet was beyond filthy, stains everywhere. We also had booked & paid for four guests, yet did not have enough spoons or mugs to cater for four people. That was a 6am trip to Reception I wasn't thrilled about! There was no frying pan, only one large pot and a medium sized pot therefore not a well equipped kitchen. The location is fabulous however and the pool / spa facilities are great - unless you're staying in the building across the alley which is when a dash through the cold is required! Like I said, overall I am happy, but wouldn't go back, especially for the money we paid. Reception staff were just there, but not friendly. I understand the round-the-clock hours wouldn't be great but we're on holiday so we would have liked a bit more of a helpful attitude. One last thing, if booking through Agoda, the simple tick for parking will not suffice and needs to be booked through the hotel at $18 a night, and ONLY if it's available. The Wilson Parking next door is outdoors (partly under shelter) but only $7 per 12 hours and from Saturday midday until Monday 8am parking on the street is free :-)
