Everything great except the bed/mattresses”
This place has everything organised very well and convenient. Since I have used this chain before too A&O might want to change their bed/mattresses to a better quality instead of the fauxleather/plasticy and foam mattresses that are really bad for the back. I was in Dortmund last time, and they have the same mattresses in all their chains. Also, they do not have double beds and only two single beds joined together.. so thats a little inconvenient.

I have stayed in this hostel a few times ideally situated close to Berliner Tor train stop also close to the main station a couple cheap supermarkets near by always clean the staff are very friendly only down side this time the lifts were out of order but would happily stay there again

At the beginning I just booked for 2 days stay at A&O Hotel in Hamburg. It was just a try. But then I decided to extend it for another two days. It's great hotel with reasonable price. The location and the room is reasonable for the price. But you need to book on the application. If you book at the receptionist / on the spot, the prise is much more than application. It's just like 3 minutes walk to the train station (across the hotel). And just one station to the central Station (bus and train), just walking distance to the tourist places. The facilities are good for the price. The room is big. So Lovely. There are some other hotels around. But I think this hotel is the biggest in the Area. I would like to stay at this hotel again for sure whenever I come to Hamburg. Thank you A&O hotel. ❤

the hostel is 30 minutes away by foot to the city center but there are also train stations nearby. They let us leave our stuff in a locker room for free after check out. they have staff at the front desk 24/7.

Clean and new bathrooms in the room. Large officelike common room. Spacious rooms. Close enough to Berliner Tor station to walk. Bar and pool tables

Charged extra for sheets ”
The facilities were great but managament was very poor. We were charged extra for sheets without prior notice. We had payed for our booking online and then came to find out that we had to pay more for the sheets, which is totally unethical. The funnier thing is when we arrived in the room, our beds had sheets. So we asked for a refund but they said they couldnt because their policy was that they spread the sheets of the few beds out of courtesy but not the others. I ö sorry but I find that absolutely ridiculous.

If you manage to get a room, that is not facing the roads and you don’t have noisy people next door, this is a decent place. Cheap and has everything you need, but expect a lot of drunken young people, a worn a dirty place, and some noise. Perfect if you need need a place to sleep, that is cheap and central. Otherwise not recommended.

Overbooks they rooms ”
I booked a single room and ended up in a hostel dorm with 8 people. I was not being refunded nor did they offer a different room, because all the rooms had been sold out. They deliberately changed the single booking to dorm rooms. I was stuck with drunk 18 year olds that partied until 5:30 in the morning and also brought friends. Shittiest place I’ve been to. Security doesn’t even realise who is checked in or not

Hotel was so crowded during our stay. Location was a bit far from the central station, a bit far from the metro station too. There were so many rooms that can make you confused in finding your own room and elevator. Staff (Salman) was very good and helpful.

Location is good as it is about 5 minute walk from the main station of Hamburg. There is a supermarket nearby as well. Staffers are a bit unfriendly and not very helpful. The room is what you paid for, but a bit crowded in my four-person shared room.

I wish there were female only dorms”
I accidentally went to another A&O branch, thankfully its only 10 mins walk away. A&O Hamburg City outlet is further away from the city centre. The hostel is big and beds are comfy. Cleanliness of rooms could be better, especially on Day 2 of my stay, the showers were blocked with hair. There were a couple of guests in the same room which brought girls to their bed late at night, and noted there were 2 or 3 beds which had 2 ppl sleeping in a single bed.
