Abbiamo fatto la crociera di 3 giorni. Sono venuti a prenderci in hotel con mezz'ora di ritardo rispetto all'orario stabilito, l'autista ha messo più volte in pericolo la nostra vita e quella degli altri passeggeri. Durante il tragitto ci siamo fermati al solito bazar in combutta con l'agenzia. Le cabine erano puzzolenti e sporche, il menù monotono, nel senso che per 3 giorni abbiamo mangiato sempre le stesse cose. Ciliegina sulla torta, ci hanno addebitato il costo della biancheria del letto perchè secondo loro l'abbiamo rovinata. Esperienza da non ripetere!

Wonderful cruise with excellent staff”
We really enjoyed the alova gold cruise, the staff were excellent and managed to sort us out when we had a slight disaster with the pick up (not their fault). All the activities are great and the food good. The drinks are a little pricey but appreciated their cocktail happy hour. Great rooms on the boat as well, would definitely recommend.

Amazing trip to Halong Bay!”
We had the most wonderful time on this cruise. From start to finish, our guide Trung was friendly and helpful. The van picked us up on time and was a comfortable ride down to Halong City. Once we arrived, everything was very efficient to get us checked in while others were waiting for a long time to board their cruises. The trip to Ti Top island was a huge highlight as the views from the top are breathtaking. We enjoyed the kayaking, swimming, squid fishing, and the cave adventure. The meals were superb and the staff was fantastic. I cannot recommend this cruise enough!

Great experience, fantastic tour guide ”
only negative thing is the beds were quite hard. but quickly brushing past that our tour guide Hong Mr. Ticket was great! made the trip so much fun and he knew everything.His assistant Alan was a great companion and the boat staff were so kind and professional. compared to most tours alova are quite cheap but the experience is not lacking. their new schedule took us to secluded areas to swim and kayak which was nice and the food was delicious. Definitely a must do =)

Disappointed ”
Toilet door needs force to close properly. Shower sliding door is jammed. Shower head is loose and unusable. Expensive drinks and curfew on air-conditioning

Not sufficent Hot Water at Cabin Room”
The hot water is not sufficient for two persons in a cabin room. After I took shower, there is not sufficient hot water for the next guest to take hot bath and end up bathing with cold water at 8.00pm. Disappointing !!

Good cruise with delicious food.”
We took 3D2N cruise and it was very good. Food was more than enough and it was delicious. Also all kind of activities were fun. We went together with 2D1N participants but I definitely recommend to take 3 day tour, because the second day was the best and it was not in the schedule for 2D1N trip. And make sure you don't get the room next to the engine, because it is very noisy. We had this room for one night, but thanks to the friendly stuff it was changed to another the next night. Would recommend this cruise to anyone.

Good staff, but the cruise is falling apart”
To begin with the cruise was broken, so we where for the three days ancled to another cruise that had to pull us around, so, no view from the terrace on one side of the cruise. The cruise needs a improvement urgent, the wood is in really bad shape! The rooms are not as show on the pictures (really good photoshop o really old pictures from a better time...), small and smelly rooms, uncomfortable beds, no chairs and desk as told on the description, don course no hidromassage shower!, the toilet is pretty dark and old.... The good thing: our tour guide Minh, he manage to make us feel happy and comfortable even all those things. Also we have a really good group of passengers, so we where really lucky! The food is really good and the bartender and cocktails awesome!

The guides are what make this worth the money. The food is definitely above average and the rooms were adequately clean. The drinks during happy hour were severely watered down. Overall great experience though.

Better than expected ”
I was worried about even taking a tour after reading so many negative boat reviews, but this trip was great. It was very on tine with the program and organized. We went to an island to swim/ hike to see the view. Kayaked to a cave and through the bay, learned to mans fresh rolls, went squid fishing. Boat is clean with hot water although water pressure gets low if a few people shower at once (like after kayaking). Food is average to good. First lunch and breakfast were nothing special dinner and second lunch were pretty good. As expected drinks aren't included, expect a water on the bus each way and one on the boat (so bring water), alcoholic drinks are expensive, especially mixed drinks. But they do have a nice but 1 get 1 happy hour during dinner. Guests on the boat were great all around my age I'd say 25-35 two young married couples, a few solo travelers, and a group or two of friends. There are only 9 cabins including the guide's so it's a small group which is nice we had 12 total. I'd recommend this trip, it was more than I wanted to pay but was well organized,very safe, and clean. Plus the sites of Halong bay are stunning and our guide spoke English well and was very helpful. As a side note I think this trip would be too short as a day trip since 7-8 hours is spent driving there. I did two days one night which felt perfect. I met a couple who thought 3 days two nights was a bit long. If you want more time I'd suggest doing this trip and maybe spending an additional night on Cat Ba island to explore there. We were lucky with sunny weather in Feb, if it was gloomy the entire time it might be less fun.

Sleepless night in a room next to generator”
First of all we were not really lucky with the weather and found the whole Halong Bay experience too touristy and overcrowded. That may affect our bad rating as well... Good was: - Tourguide tried really hard to make it a unique experience and already started in the bus to tell us a bit more about Vietnam. His English was good. - We enjoyed the kayaking in the bay a lot - the visit at the cave was nice, but we started the tour with about 300 other people from the other boats (general problem with guided tours in Vietnam) - the bus for transportation was new Bad was: - The ship and the rooms were not as good as expected. The whole ship needs a renovation, the rooms are not that clean. In the bathroom there was just a wooden window with blinds which you could not close. The shower was just a metal box with not enough hot water and the appliances were pretty old. - Just hot water and air-con between from 6pm-6am - We had the room next to the generator which ran the whole night -so no sleep - The indoor space on the ship with bar and dining-area lacked love and detail. The bar stools were not prepared (just stacked in a corner and we had to set up everything ourselves), the dining tables were not well positioned so that not everybody had a view on to the bay and there were just a tiny old couch to sit on in case of bad weather. - the supplied food was at most average and the drink prices were ridiculously high. - unmotivated staff on the boat including the manager (were just looking at his mobile phone and played very loud techno music) - on the way to and back from Halong Bay they stop at a big souvenir shop and justify it with a necessary stop for the driver and cleaning of the air-con - hahahahaha All in all I would not recommend this boat. If you really want to see Halong Bay and you do not mind visiting it with a million other people and boats at the same time, invest in a nice boat with great facilities.

Good value, especially with good weather”
The stay with Alova Gold was really pleasant. It's not anything flashy, but the tour is a good value for the price paid. The best aspects included very friendly, professional, and trustworthy staff, including one of the guides named Hieu. The captain of the boat is also a well-dressed gentleman, somewhat unexpected. The food is really delicious, and if the weather weren't so cloudy/rainy (late December), then the kayaking and outdoor activities would have been much better. The tour does include pickup at your hotel in Hanoi (recommended), and the trip to Halong includes a couple of requisite stops at a souvenir tourist trap, but this seems to be standard with all operators, and there is no pressure to buy anything. It's best as a coffee/WC break. The three-day two-night excursion is worthwhile only if the weather is good; otherwise there is a lot of leisure time. Our tour included a hike up to Titop island (excellent 360-degree panoramas), a descent into an impressive but crowded cave ("Amazing Cave"), kayaking twice around some superb lagoons, and a stop at a pearl "museum" (again, a place to spend money if you wish, but there was no pressure to purchase). Again, this is a great, balanced trip if the weather is decent.

Excellent service on a nice boat”
The food was absolutely delicious and I am a bit food obsessed. Staff was friendly and fun. The boat is in good shape and the rooms are very nice. Guide was great with activities and scheduling.

it would've been better if they'd included drinks in the total price instead of nickel and diming us with water and booze like some sleazy roadside hotel in the United States.
