Great hotel with a very nice design taste”
Very close to the Museum, took us hours to finish walking the Museum cause it was so big and awesome. The hotel is right next to the Metro station and the square. Good memories!! Customer service was just excellent!! They book us driver/ tour guide and we thank god we have them.. or else we probably would have a very bad experience in Cairo if it wasn't for the hotel's arrangement to guide us around Cairo!! The hotel was just through out PERFECT!!
Only location good”
This hotel has so much potential, but the staff only maintains it half-heartedly. There was no problem with the elevator during my two day stay as other reviewers have mentioned, but the wifi was not functioning until the morning I checked out. The hallways and rooms are run-down, there was no hot water for the shower, but the staff, none of whom wore uniforms, only jeans and t-shirts as if it was a business run from a family home, seemed particularly enthusiastic about anything after the payment. "Wifi isn't working" was answered with shrugs, and while the room was generally clean, it had bugs and the balcony was covered with bird poop from the extremely noisy pidgeons nesting above the window.
This is not hotel Lodge is the right name. ”
This is not called hotel it is Bangalo or lodge is the right name, Facility, clearness totally mass and while I am booking you have show the Niles View and in fact this hotel located in the city no any change to see the Niles River. Please ask somebody to check before post the picture for the marketing.
you can get there by bus from airport several buses from airport stop at th square behind museum. they cost only 2pound. plus. long distance bus from siwa stop there so we just walked back hotel from our jouney you can see the museum from your window walking distance. location is something important in cairo
Stayed only two nights at this hotel which was enough as we just wanted to see the pyramids and museum was the hotel was perfect for that. The wifi was good, room was big and comfy but the floor needed a sweep as it was a bit grubby under foot but no big dramas. Lots of shops and attractions are minutes away. We were very happy with our stay there and the staff were helpful but tried to rip us for a taxi to the aiport which ended up being triple the amount we got there for when we left.
Too expensive for tatty rooms & poor breakfasts”
This is a hotyeln the sixth floor of a downtown building, reached by one samall lift which may or may not come when called. Very small rooms, not cleaned properly, no pillow cases (and stains on ancient pillows). One English speaking channel on aged TV. Particularly unpleasant breakfasts, unhelpful staff more interested in grabbing the last pound out of customers, noisy at night. I'm sure there's better value around.
Great location, helpful staff, very reasonable”
The hotel is situated in a very good shopping area close to the museum and within walking distance to some good restaurants. The area is safe and reasonably clean for Cairo. Rooms are all on the 6th floor so quiet however the elevator is quite slow which is ok unless you're in a hurry. The staff, price and central location make this hotel. Some of the services in the rooms are not perfect but for the price they are acceptable. My internet was slow so I was offered another room where the signal strength was much better. Great staff, cheap price, central location and some old world charm...good package for travellers on a budget.
Great hotel with great hospitality”
Rooms were very spacious. In some rooms, the bathroom was too small. Reception staff were very kind & extremely helpful. They provided good support in hiring a vehicle for airport transfers & local sight seeing. Breakfast did not have much choice but service was great. I have already recommended this hotel to few of my friends.
the staff were more than helpful, not flash by any means but clean enough and a place to lay your head i mean what do you really expect for around $30 a night you get what you pay fpr its not the hilton but will do the job
Nice friendly hotel and service with a smile”
Great friendly hotel, conveniently located in downtown Cairo. Large airy rooms with ac. Beakfast is provided however is basic at best, merely bread and tea/coffee and bolied egg. Lift can be a somewhat hit and miss. Staff are great and will go out of their way to help.
Nice older hotel, great location”
this is an older small hotel on the 6th floor of a building. dont be put off by the old elevator. when you get off on the 6th floor, you will see the reception area and the warm welcoming smile of fatima. i booked a standard room, but since the only ones available were on one floor above a small spiral staircase, i was given a larger room on the main floor-very kind for an older woman. the rooms are a bit small with the 2 beds, but enough for you and your luggage. the breakfast is simple-bread, egg and coffee or tea and halwah-sesame paste sweet. good enought to start your day. everything is clean and i had a view of the museum from my window. it is 5 minutes walk in one direction and the metro stop 5 minutes in another. it is also 5 mnutes from the most famous pastry shope in cairo-groppe, where you can have delicious pastries ,ice cream or choclates for a reasonable price.i ate there 35 years ago on my first trip to egypt and never forgot it.
nice people and place”
i liked this place a lot. the people were very friendly and very helpful. the rooms were immaculately clean. i had a problem with the shower not producing hot water. they moved me to another room immediately. the next day there was a plumber putting a new shower unit in there. they even asked if i wanted the room back. they arranged my driver and tour of the pyramids for me. when i left cairo the taxi driver for the hotel took me to the station. he took my case right into the ticket office, i gave him my money, he paid the ticket and got the info i needed. i will definately stay here again. it is great value for what you pay for.
Very close to city centre, great hospitality”
As times are tough in Egypt, the hotel was pretty much empty when I was staying there. The location is excellent Basically a block away from the Egypt Museum! The rooms were decent sized with OK views, but my shower was a tad broken (but still functional!) The staff were excellent and made me feel very welcome. They spoke English very well.
Lovely people ”
on arriving to cairo, we were picked up by the hotel from the airport. on arrival to the hotel, the entrance seemed a bit daunting... and the antique elevator was a novelty :) however we were greeted with smiles from the receptionist. we were given early check in. the initial room given had problems with lack of hot water. so we were given another room the next day. room has airconditioning, with all the basic neccessities. wifi was freely available. throughout our stay, we got to know several of the receptionists and they were all so helpful and friendly. they all spoke english. during our stay there in cairo, the protesting in tahrir sq was taking place, but they kept reassuring us that we were safe.
Perfect place to stay”
i recommend the cairo city center hotel to everybody who wants to feel the impulses of the real egypt and cairo. than hotel is really in the center of the city, you can reach every tourist district in minutes. however except from the hotel we didn't see any tourists. the tharir square and the egyiptian museum is about 1 minute far by walk and we can go on walk for shopping, to restaurants, to bazaars or to the famous confectionary al abd as well. the staff is very nice, helpful, polite and always smiling. they are at your disposal in everything anytime and it is worth to ask them to organise tours for you (for example: to the pyramids of giza and saqqara, river cruise on the nile etc.) the room was snug with a nice view and the breakfast was enough (we were two women :)), and they have great coffee. so if you would like to see the real cairo, choose the cairo city center hotel.
Very nice, I stayed longer than I had planned”
it looks rather shabby from the outside, but the hotel is nice and clean with good rooms and a very friendly staff doing their best to fix any problem. and the wireless internett worked fine all my stay.
Fantastic stay and best hotel staff ever!! ”
we travelled with two kids aged 3 and 1 and were a bit apprehensive at first. But all that changed when we saw the rooms and the hotel staff were very accommodating to our needs. It doesnt look great from outside but once inside, its a great place. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The location was excellent. Egyptian museum is just a minute away by walk and so was the main shopping street. Tip: arrange all travel with the hotel as its safe, convenient and way cheaper than taking taxi. You also dont have to haggle. We felt quite safe at the hotel especially the staff were very friendly and catered to all our special needs including extended checkout. We had a late train to Luxor and they opened another room for us to stay till night without any extra costs. One main regret leaving Egypt was to leave the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for all especially those travelling with family and kids.
