Rilassante in un contesto amichevole”
Soggiorno perfetto, personale gentile, piscina disponibile quando c'era la bassa marea. Buon ristorante . Buon rapporto qualità prezzo
Beautiful hotel, beautiful location”
Came for a couple of days relaxation and that's what we got! Lovely spot right on the beach, friendly staff, good communal area/ restaurant, really nice stay. The beach is very quiet and there wasn't as much as I was expecting so be aware it is a good place to relax but you will have to travel if you want more!
I can't say enough about Coral Rock. The location is absolutely breathtaking. As a couple looking for a quiet week away, Jambiani was the perfect spot. While there are a few hotels/guesthouses dotted along the beach, the number of tourists was quite low when compared with the rest of the island. The beach is mostly filled with local children playing football, fisherman and seaweed farmers. Rooms are basic, but comfortable. We spent most mornings and evenings on our little balcony overlooking the sea. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of one of the monkeys who hang out on the property as well. The hotel restaurant was great and accommodates for a vegan diet. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again on a return visit.
Enjoy the location”
This might be priced high but the location is just graet at the end of the beach. Rooms are adequate , clean and convenient. Towels can be either new or old but always clean. Housekeeping attentive and staff helpful
A real treat for the eyes”
A real treat for the eyes and senses! We were totally wowed when we arrived at Coral Rock. The resort is on an overhang and our rooms faced the beach with our own private little thatched bed overlooking the most gorgeous ocean. We received a free upgrade because they were busy with renovations. The restaurant views are amazing and the buffet breakfast was delicious, just because it was low season not the entire menu was on offer. All in all a wonderful stay! Asante Sana Coral Rock!
Ac bad,wifi bad,can't swimming”

Great relaxing and laid back place”
I spent 10 days here with my sister after a pretty hectic safari trip to Uganda. This was a perfect place to relax and get into a slow easy rhythm. The views are stunning and the beach is a great place to stroll with minimal hassle from beach vendors etc. The rooms were huge and kept very clean by the always smiling staff. As you can see from earlier reviews the restaurant divides opinion somewhat. The food can take an age but if you are staying there you just factor this into the times you want to eat. The staff in the restaurant vary from one of the most helpful and friendly people I have ever come across in a hotel to another who could ignore you for 10 minutes even if you were the only customers. However, the best policy is just relax and enjoy the food when it comes. It is a little pricey but almost without exception was very good. Overall I loved the place and it was just what we needed at the time.
Beautiful beach, better hotel than surrounding”
Jambiani beach is exquisite. Coral rock is in an amazing location and seems to be the best hotel in the area. That said, it is not cheap and the accommodation is pretty basic. Our room was cleaned once in the 6 days we stayed there. We had to ask for clean towels and extra toilet paper when we needed. There was not even tea/ coffee in the room or an ounce of free water. It all added up and made it a very expensive holiday. Most of the staff were quite nice and helpful. The restaurant has a pretty wide selection of food. All okay, but nothing amazing, also not cheap. Wifi pretty stable. I'd stay here again for the setting.
great place, god value”
Very enjoyable, loved the place, very clean, good service
Good stay. This is not a typical resort. With locals offering mangoes and henna to you on the beach, it felt much more rooted in the culture of Zanzibar. Good in the restaurant took very long (1hr or more after ordering) but it was the island way. Rooms are efficient and not overly lavish. Beds are hard, which is the norm for Tanzania. Very windy area of Zanzibar making it bug-free. Delightful!
Great Hotel overlooking the Indian Ocean”
Great Hotel in at the southern end of Jambiani. The location allows you to be close to the center of the village but still a little bit secluded from the other hotels. Perfect place for relaxation. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the restaurant is very good with a good variation of dishes and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Breathtaking view and perfect location. However the service is really bad and resort not well maintained. The staff is friendly but super slow and breakfast is always a mess missing cups glasses etc... you have to wait between 1h and 1;30 between each dish! Coral rock has a very good potential but i felt a lack of management and service. Beside of that we enjoyed our stay in Jambiani that is a gem in Zanzibar!
worst hotel experience”
where to start. i went there just to experience their pool (which i din't enjoy) because their rude staff (all men dressed like body guards or bouncers). i was planning to spend a couple of days more but decided to leave the next day after this horrible experience. i don't recommend this place at all for couples who are seeking relaxation. pool might attract you to go there but its a trap.
enjoyed the beach”
it was ok but it didnt worth the money i spent on the hotel
Good hotel if you look for quiet place”
Overall I am very satisfied. This was exactly the place I was looking for. The room though especially bathroom needs some small renovation.
unforgetable experience ”
one i will never forget .. its not a 5 star hotel and dont expect on the spot service but the people there and the whole experience is just priceless
Paradise on Earth , an incredible holiday! ”
Amazing, we loved every minute and didn't want to leave!
Coral Rock once rocked”
Coral Rock is situated at the very end of Jambiani, next to Red Monkey Lodge. That being said, it's quiet, peaceful, gives a beautiful view of the Indian Ocean, and cream white beach. The hotel is located on a rock above the beach, so you're not exactly on the sand, but have to climb down. During short season (January-February) there's loads of seaweed washing up from the ocean with the tide. The hotel sometimes cleans up its front, sometimes doesn't. And when it's there, sometimes the smell in unbearable. We stayed here as a couple for 3 days, were happy with our room with a private terrace, the food was really delicious though we didn't expect it. Our criticisms were: - This place had its time maybe 20-30 years ago when it was new, the taste was in place, and the management was in control. Now you feel you everything's kind of loose - maintenance, management, staff, the condition of the rooms, showers, the hotel in general etc. Life at Coral Rock can be simple, and beautiful, and that's quite cool, but then they should charge at least half of the price they're asking! - Unlike the food at dinner, the breakfast is poor. Again, for the charge they get, this is not acceptable. We were planning to stay 5 nights, but then thought it was too much for both Coral Rock and Jambiani, so decided to leave. The management did not charge us anything for our last two nights, so that was a real plus! But on the other hand, it's obvious that the hotel is mostly full, and we felt our departure was not a real loss for them. Still, it was a good sign of gesture.
