Poor receptionist, tired, dated and unmantained rooms”
We were very disappointed with this hotel. The receptionist Jodie was very unhelpful and abrupt so we booked through Agodo. Our room unfortunately let us down further as it is very dated with the bath enamel having worn away and the bath handles blank with grime. Thus having paid extra for a bathtub - we only showered and I so ached for a long soak! What was good was the Duty Manager who moved us but to a similar room but did give us free wine as a gesture of apology. We were too tired to move to new hotel but went on to have perfect fresh cooked pizzas. Sadly we won't return.
Food and drink overpriced and not very good. ”
The accommodation and the price for the night at the hotel were good, the hotel was clean, the room was okay and good value . The bar and restaurant menus were limited, I felt the drink was overpriced at £7.50 for the double gin and tonic, and £25 for a steak wasn’t cooked the way that I had ordered it.
a good stopover hotel”
The staff were pleasant and helpful . The first room was not good as it had not been made up ,but this was put right quickly and we were given a much nicer and larger room which was very good.
The hotel generally was fine and as expected. But the breakfast is worth a special mention - it really was very good. More than enough choice, quick enough for a freshly cooked breakfast, and pleasant and helpful service. Great value!
Nice hotel, good food and great staff.”
Attended a wedding which was delivered really well. Disabled facilities were not brilliant could have been better with a walk in shower and not a bath.
Had a really good stay, the only down fall was I asked for a late check out room and they advised that they don’t do them.
We stayed at a family wedding. At breakfast 8.00am until 10.00am we came down at 9.15am to find little buffet breakfast on show and people queueing for replenishments. The staff were bringing out a few pieces of bacon eggs and sausages etc but neve enough to keep the queue down. We were told 5 mins but 25 mins later at 9.50am a waiter told us that it would be 10mins as the chef was cooking for a big order. When I asked who's order he said the golfers. I said but we have been waiting 1/2 an hour already. Anyway the long and short of it is they switched off from the breakfast room to cook for the golfers at 9.50am not 10.00 am. And so many in the breakfast room went without. On asking at reception to cancel the breakfast from the bill the girl answered that she was told we had had breakfast. I told her the story and reluctantly she removed the charge - but very begrudgingly. The Hotel staff ruined a reasonable stay over breakfast totally.
The Hotel was generally well presented, the main dissapointment was in the room and bathroom. We submitted a report to Reseption on leaving, in the hope that cerain defects would be made good. We assured staff that overall we had enjoyed our stay. We have also enjoyed a stay at The Tregenna Castle Hotel in St Ives.
