“Amazing hotel in amazing location! ”
I don't usually write reviews but I wanted to write one for the Crowne Plaza because it truly was an amazing Christmas trip to Guam. We booked the 1 King 2 Double room for our family of 3 (older child). It had two bathrooms, two rooms with three beds total, which was perfect for having a teen/family who wanted private space. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff and Chamorro people are so friendly and kind. The free activities provided for the week was a surprise (I was told it would cost money to do certain water activities like SUPing, kayaking, snorkeling, etc.). But upon arrival they gave us a list of free activities for very specific times. We participated in free smores in the evening, afternoon kayaking, morning SUPing... true, you can pay to do some water things without the wait, but we didn't mind going 10-15 minutes to wait for their free times. Even around Christmas/NY peak travel season, the wait wasn't too bad if you go early. We brought our snorkeling gear and the snorkeling near the coral reefs a few minutes walk down closer to Ypao beach was amazing (near the hotel and at Ypao was a bit dead). Big Tip: snorkel right before the big rock sticking out walking toward Ypao. You can see the reefs on Google Maps satellite view. *See dark area = coral. Bring your old bread from your flight, go in the morning and you'll find tons of fish ready to say hello to you. It was an amazing time. I love snorkeling and Guam had some of the easiest places and the most fish! (Piti Chanel was beautiful too!) Also, you don't need to bring life jackets, beach towels, pool inflatables or your air pump, because they have it all to borrow at the hotel. I was unsure about paying so much for this hotel especially when we had to pay even more for their delicious breakfast, but after staying there, I'd say all the free activities and the snorkeling and friendly helpful staff made it worth the money! Hope you get to enjoy Guam here - you'll love it! We rented a car and it was easy to get around and enjoy the entire island. I would say the only negative of the hotel - they don't have good coffee, in your room and even downstairs at breakfast.
