Better than four star! ”
We decided on transfers organised by Victory and not only was it cost effective but very well organised. Email communications while organising was responsive and easy to understand. We were greeted once off the bus at the port and looked after through to our transfer back. Nam and his crew were wonderful throughout. The cruise activities onboard were diverse with cooking class, squid fishing and happy hour was fun. The food was delicious. Whilst the cruise visits the places similar to others it was still an exceptional experience with the quality boat and crew. There were some party boats on the water and we were grateful Victory wasn’t one of them. It was fun and at the same time relaxing. We were very happy to have chosen Victory Cruise. Highly recommend.

We got a free upgrade from Victory cruise to Victory star. All rooms have balcony. Old boat but well maintained. Meals are a la carte not buffet as advertised . Not much activities in the evening.

I had wonderful experience at this 5 star boat (after I have upgraded to 5 star) the lunch was very good cooking! than you dinner was disappointed, bud all the rest was wonderful thanks a lot

Victory Star: Among the nicer boats on the bay”
We upgraded from Victory to Victory Star to have our own private balcony during the cruise. This is apparently not available on the Victory cruise. Other than that, however, most things seemed to be similar. We followed largely the same route and the menus were not much different. The boats - both the Victory ones and the Victory Star ones were among the nicer and more well-kept that we saw on the bay. Food was very nice. The dinner portions could easily have been a bit more generous though. They charge relatively much for water, juices, wines and spirits on board. Excursions to caves and beaches were smoothly organized, although it would probably have been no great loss to stay on board as the sites were rather crowded.

Breath-taking scenery, avg food, no activities ”
A pleasant stay on the whole. Staff was very friendly and cheery; however the tour-guiding service was severely inadequate. (The only English-speaking tour guide on board only provided the most basic information and did not take the initiative to explain more). Facilities were excellent -- great ambience, calming colours, wood-themed deco, comfy beds, large bathrooms. The food was... underwhelming: there were some nice dishes, but seafood could certainly be fresher. The food provided during meals is adequate, but you will not be stuffed -- so bring snacks along if you are a big eater. The islets of Bai Tu Long Bay are breath-taking (Though lesser-known, Bai Tu Long is the nicer bay IMO. Ha Long is getting too touristy and a little dirty. We were at BTL on day 1 and sailed to Ha Long on day 2).

Good cruise, but not much for small kids”
We liked the cruise quite a lot especially since it was our first time. They take around some nice spots. However, I guess the cruise covers a very small area. Rooms were really good and comfy, though a bit small...but then we had two rooms so it was okay. On the flip side, my small kids were bored as there is no play area for kids etc. Pest control could be improved. The bus ride from Hanoi to ha long bay was not comfy as the driver kept switching the air conditioning off (I guess to save on fuel).

Great hotel, great staff, but not long enough.”
every thing was great. staff need to explain more clearly about people who are doing the 2 night cruise. we thought we had to leave the ship and get on another one for the 2nd night. we had to get off the ship and on to another one, only for the day. the following day, i was talking to another person doing the 2 night stay, and they were ready to leave the ship, because they thought they had to get off and onto another one for the 2nd night. the only other thing that was a bit hard, was when we were to go kayaking. the climb down and up the ladder, over the side of the ship, was a bit hard and slippery. this area is so relaxing and peaceful, it is really beautiful.

we booked a family room with 3 bed but we only got a room with king size bed and our 9 year child only goot a mattress on the flor. Service was good, food acceptable .

Excellent Cruise, Excellent Food”
This was undoubtedly the most expensive night of our trip but we'd heard so many horror stories about cheap trips in Halong Bay we decided to splash out. If you can afford it, do it! The cabins were plush with rainwater shower heads. The balcony could comfortably seat two. The food was excellent and at dinner all the staff were very well dressed in traditional outfits. It was almost theatrical when the next course (of several) was presented. No hesitation in recommending this cruise,

Bateau spacieux et service parfait”
Bateaux très spacieux avec un nombre de passagers limité. Excellent service et accueil de qualité par un français très chaleureux. Beaucoup de calme, de tranquilité et de sérénité dans ces lieux qui le méritent. Organisation très bien rodée et timée. Parfait ! Literie un peu dure toutefois.

Croisiere tres romamtique”
Tout aurait ete parfait s'ils n'avaient pas decide de repeindre en blanc le bateau pendant notre sejour !!! Meme si c'etait un ordre du gouvernement ils aurait pu le faire a un autre momemt, le sachant depuis longtemps: odeur, peinture sur le pantalon, difficulte a monter sur le pont superieur! La jonque etait tres belle en bois brupt a notre arrivee et a perdu beaucoup de son charme repeinte en blanc !En dehors de la peinture tres belle cabine impecable, personnel attentionne, nourriture trs bonne. Dommage que les voiles n'aient pas ete mises ; la peinture a beucoup occupe tout le personnel!

Tout est orchestré pour ravir le plaisancier. Discours bien rôdé par un maître des lieux à la gouaille franchouillarde. Bonne cuisine servie par une noria de demoiselles dans une chorégraphie respectée à la lettre. Le bateau est superbe. Ne perdez pas de vue que la note vaut pour un séjour de 24 heures.

Luxe boot met mooie kamers”
Halong Victory Cruise is ons goed bevallen. De boot was erg mooi en luxe en de maaltijden waren erg goed. De maatschappij heeft twee boten en degene waarop bij zaten was pas drie maanden oud. Hierdoor zag hij erg erg goed uit, ook in vergelijking met de andere boten die we zagen varen. Groot voordeel bij deze maatschappij is dat de kamers een balkonnetje hebben; een onvergetelijke ervaring om 's ochtends in je badjas vanaf je eigen balkon naar de prachtige omgeving te kijken! Nadeel was dat we nog 60 USD moesten betalen voor de bus van Hanoi naar Halong Bay, terwijl we er vanuit gingen dat dit al bij de prijs inbegrepen was. Over die busreis: houd er rekening mee dat deze reis vier uur is, niet op verkijken dus!
