“Ottimo ”

Mi hanno fatto un upgrade gratuito e la stanza era enorme e bellissima. Posizione in pieno centro, vista sull'opera, zone comuni storiche, colazione ottima, varia e abbondante in un bellissimo cortile. Da migliorare solo il bagno (la doccia è nella vasca da bagno e la pressione dell'acqua a volte è debole).

Questo albergo e una tappa obbligata per i lettori di Terzani e Fallaci, che hanno più volte soggiornato qui negli anni 70. Consiglio anche di alloggiare per una o due notti, per godersi appieno la storia di questo albergo. Camere spaziose, letto comodo, personale gentile e disponibile. Colazione ok, limitata la scelta per la colazione dolce.

Storico hotel in posizione perfetta per tutto. data l’età nn è paragonabile certo ai super lusso e asettici hotel moderni ma questo per me è solo un valore in più di questo hotel .

“Hotel ricco di storia ma mal gestito ”

Un hotel storico. Ha ospitato scrittori, reporter e politici. Magnifica la sala della colazione sebbene la colazione offerta non è molto varia. Le stanze sono state ristrutturate piuttosto male, il pavimento è un parquet economico incollato. Il bagno è davvero triste, la vasca aveva il l’asta della doccia staccata dal muro. Il ristorante dell’hotel molto poco curato, cibo mediocre. E’ un peccato che un hotel del genere sia così mal curato

“Fascino di altri tempi”

Arrivare a Saigon è di per se una emozione intensa per i trascorsi storici che l' accompagnano e le sensazioni trovano una appassionante materializzazione quando si entra in strutture che hanno un passato come l'Hotel Continental di Saigon. Questa è per me la ragione prioritaria per definire la permanenza al Continental lo scopo principale del mio viaggio in Vietnam e il risultato più importante.

“Hotel dal fascino secolare..”

In generale un ottima alternativa ai classici alberghi appartenenti a catenere internazionali. Il Continental gode di un passato glorioso che si riflette su tutti i piccoli dettagli dal lavandino in stile liberty a forma di conchiglia allo splendido dehors per la colazione. Il livello di comfort non e' pero' paragonabile a causa di 2 punti fondamentali: l'odore di muffa che permea la camera a causa della Moquette datata e la cordialita' del personale che lascia un po' a desiderare. In generale un bel posto per stare 2 giorni, ma non di piu'.

L'albergo ha una storia e solo per questo meriterebbe di essere visitato. Le camere sono grandi ed arredate bene con tutto cio che serve. Il problema pero' e' la rumorosita' delle stanze che danno sulla strada in quanto gli infissi hanno vetri sottili ed i rumori arrivano tutti.

L'albergo e' sito in posizione abbastanza centrale. Il personale e' stato gentile e parla discretamente inglese. Le stanze sono tenute in maniera piu' che decente. La struttura va bene per coppie e single, indistintamente.

Free access to the gym, steam & sauna, and jacuzzi adds an extra layer of indulgence, making your stay feel complete and well cared for. A place where the city buzzes just outside, but inside, everything slows down — effortlessly memorable.

“Wanted to like it more”

I usually stay at another classic old hotel in this area of HCM City but wanted to see what The Hotel Continental was like for this visit. For me, I prefer the other hotel but my stay was still pretty good. I'll list what I saw were the pros and cons of this hotel. Pros: -excellent location -historical building that oozes that history the minute you walk in the lobby -good breakfast buffet -fairly large rooms and bathrooms -good pillows -good AC -nice staff Cons: -lobby smells like cigarette smoke even though there is no smoking allowed -furniture, paint, carpeting in hallways, furniture is very dated. Some of this is, I imagine to keep up with vintage image of the hotel, but it could be spruced up, repaired and addressed so it doesn't look as run down. -rooms have a 'funny' smell (like dusty old books). Again, some of this is the vintage character of the hotel, but I know other hold hotels that aren't as 'old' smelling. -room a bit dusty and not cleaned well in corners or behind furniture -bed a bit hard (but not as hard as many other beds in SE Asia -water takes a long time to heat up in sink and shower

“Great cultural and historical hotel”

It was a fantastic stay at this cultural and historical hotel. Luckily they let us check-in earlier at the special room. All the staffs were sophisticated and have great smile. I’d like to say extra ‘Thank you!’ to the receptionists, the door men, the porters, and the janitors. Unfortunately there is no swimming pool but they have a spa. I wish they had a small swimming pool and a pool table and more variety at the breakfast buffet. I liked their steamed sticky rice with peanuts. Their sushi with fake crab was not attractive. The fake bread decorations are not necessary. Oh, they forgot to put the complementary welcome fruits. As soon as I told them, they brought the local fresh ones right away. The ceiling is high and the room is extra big, which is very relaxing. You can walk to many famous sightseeing spots easily. Also they kept our bags after checkout safely and for a long time. We can’t wait for the next stay there. Customer service: Fantastic. Room: Clean and spacious. Breakfast: Vietnamese and western with fresh local fruits. Spa: Old but clean. Facilities: A small old gym and no swimming pool. Price: Higher but reasonable. Tip: This hotel is in a movie. Also the oldest hotel.

“Centrally located historical hotel”

We stayed at the Hotel Continental Hotel for four nights while visiting Saigon. It's a classicly older hotel with lots of flavor. We selected the suite with an Opera House view. Room was very spacious, clean, and great A/C. Bed was comfortable with nice bedding. Only downer was the bathroom is very dated. That wouldn't stop us from returning. Breakfast was fantastic. Coffee was excellent. Centrally located in Quan 1. Easy Grab car to everything. Many close restaurants. Highly recommend.

“Great location in District 1”

I have stayed in the hotel a total of 3 times in the last couple of years. It's a charming hotel; the oldest in Saigon (or is it Vietnam)? Period furniture and two old lifts service the hotel. Breakfast is in the courtyard within the hotel. My only complain in this stay is that nobody responded to my request for airport transfer, which I ended up having to do it myself. Otherwise, the staff was great and its within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and entertainment.

“Long weekend (3D 3N) trip”

The location is excellent. Very near the Saigon Opera House and the Red Bus City Tour starting point. Very convenient for shopping and tours at the District 1 area. I was given an upgrade so my balcony is facing the Opera House and the activities outside. There were complementary fruits in the room. The room is big and clean, with toiletries. Breakfast area is excellent with a garden setting and variety of food is good. I enjoyed my 3 days stay in Ho Chi Minh City. Highly recommended.

“Excelent location, oldest hotel in Saigon”

Excelent location, near the opera, in walking distance to some attractions. It is, or so I’ve been told, the oldest hotel in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh. Pretty clean. If you are into older but very well preserved furniture and history, it is a nice touch. Check your windows, my view was a coridor inside the hotel. If you are into newer hotels, maybe you should check a different location. The highlight for me were the 2 trees where the breakfast takes place. They are 145 years old 👏👏👏👏
