Worst experience in my life”
Despite I had a valid reservation made through Agoda (3 nights, 4 guests) the hotel was not able to check in us as there were no rooms available: they preferred to check in a bigger group instead of us. Within the staff there wasn't a single English speaking person. As a consequence we waste an entire afternoon to get reprotected in another hotel far away.

nice location awesome helpful staff, booked into La Merry arrive and told under repair go next door to Kinarri, same owner, every meal time between 4 to 8 chinese workers ( apparently staying at la Merry) would eat at the restaurant, loud obnoxious smoking and staring, rude to the staff and other customers, acting like they own the place(maybe they do). booked into La Merry which is beach front, got ushered next door to kinarri, no beach steep land many stairs, food choice limited. recreation limited to the pool in full sun all day. extremely dissapointing and boring 3 days there, had to walk next door down a steep hill to rent their boat to lihaga island, worst stay i have ever had in SE Asia, and ive been holidaying there for 6 years. obviously the owner has no regard for bookings/facilities advertised or care over who stays there.
That part about actual beach is important since not many hotels in Manado that actually have it. The location, though, is in a remote village and there's nothing outside the hotel. This is my 2nd visit, this time with my visiting sister and her family. The food quality is still not great, although there's an improvement compared to a few months ago. Also, the pink colored room is way preferable than the wood colored room, since it has a comfortable bed, and a water heater (that produces water that is not salty).
Poor hotel condition and poor service”
I booked 2 nights for the biggest family room but i was so disappointed that I decided to move to another hotel after staying just 1 night with no refund. It was so difficult to find the hotel with no nameplate indicating direction. When we arrived, I had to wait for 20 min for checking in. After we got the room, the tv didn't work well and the bath room was not clean and wet. I could slept because i was exhausted after driving at night but my wife couldn't sleep because there was sound of knocking door but there was no one (spooky..). The swimming pool was dirty and full of bugs. We had to wait for 30min for getting our breakfast which was only a plain fried rice. The tables at gazebos were all dirty The restaurant was dirty and no one serves there. It was totally bad experience for our family and you'd better choose another hotel closer to manado. (I found out that the pictures of the hotel was all deceptive which was taken 5 years ago when there was a pre-wedding photo shooting.)
The beach was good, nice white sand strip with sitting area on the beach front. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The bed was big and cozy. The problems: - Wi-fi connection only near the reception area, and was always down except when I got there. - Jellyfish swarmed the beach on my 2nd day - The owner of the hotel held a private party on the beachfront all night, basically made the guest uncomfortable to be near the prime attraction area of the hotel. Above problems are related with timing, and maybe my timing was not that great, but there are other inherent problems: - My bathroom had no hot water (I stayed in dark colored wall room, the light colored wall room has water heater), the water was salt water (well, it's not ocean water, but you can really feel the salt), flush in my toilet was not working (even after they fixed it, it immediately broke again), there's only a small washbin with no place at all to put your shampoo, soap, toothbrush, etc, etc. - Breakfast starts at 8 a.m. Seriously? - Salt water in the pool too, even saltier than in the bathroom, and they use a type of ceramic that's very slippery. - TV has a very limited channel selection. - They have employees quarter on the beachfront (If it's not, and the 2nd floor is for guest, then still the 1st floor is very public and full of service stuffs, like mineral water, kayak, employees motorcycle, pool table which the employees' kids playing at all time, and not the guest.)My point is, they made a prime location of the hotel useless, even interfering with guest. Employees quarter should be located near the entrance, far from guest's view. It's not the employees' fault if that place was disturbing, it's the fault of those who design the whole thing.

It was an awesome stay. The place was so beautiful with the beach view, peaceful n quiet. Staffs were super helpful n nice. I'd recommend this place to those who wants to stay away from the city's crowd.

Harga dan fasilitas yang diberikan sangat tidak sebanding. Dengan rate > 1 juta / malam, kondisi kamar minimalis bahkan tidak ada televisi. Saya komplain dan dipindahkan ke kinaari, disana kami diberikan room family (rate > 2 jt / malam) dan bayangkan kamar mandi hanya menggunakan ember dan gayung, tanpa air panas!! Whattt!! Dengan rate > 2jt / malam saya seharusnya sudah mendapatkan room executive class di mercure / novotel. Sangat amat not recomended untuk stay di la merry / kinaari 😊
